Castlevania 2 Simons quest dream

So last night i had this crazy dream where Falcom Remade Castlevaina 2 using sprite based characters and using the YsF engine. It was just really weird cuz I could see it playing with Simon whiping ghost, Zombies and maggots in a Castle not unlike Valestine, but more gloomy. Hehe just thought id share

well, i'd imagine the gameplay would deffinately be better than Curse of Darkness, as far as gameplay goes

Sweet! If anyone could do a remake of Castlevania 2 besides Konami it would be Falcom. Of course the soundtrack, if redone by Falcom would be legendary.

Searching out Dracula's body parts sounds like a good action RPG anyway.

I wouldn't mind a full blown remake of FF VII on SNES or GBA. I always wondered what that would be like. Of course it will never happen though.

Well they came out with that new one just recently. Dont remember what its called but looked at it and thought the story was pretty lame. Castlevania has become like FF, its a tired wornout francise that Konami is just trying to suck every last dollar from.

I never played Curse of Darknees, I watched my brother play it instead. I've had a lot of fun playing the 2D ones that were on the GBA though. I hope they continue with those.

and thats quite an exageration, isnt it Seldane? Curse of Darkness isnt so great, LoI was obviously better even though CoD fixed some issues that the previous had (i hated the mario 64-ish castle-hub level-selection thing, CoD fixed it quite well). Atleast the music was still great. The problem was that it focessed more on the RPG aspects of gameplay than the castlevania aspects... they didnt mix it well like SotN did.

and i liked the story in CoD. It turns out a lot better than it seems before you play it. Theres a few twists and the whole thing is very odd through-out (it also connects with another classsic Castlevania storyline), read the IGN review for the game. I found the characters pretty unique and likable.

besides, stop thinking about the 3D stuff on the PS2 (ruiner of various classic series) and start thinking GBA and DS (the saviors of various classic series, without a doubt). IMO, Mega Man is the series going down the path FF is going down (personaly, i think it was always bland and FFVII/FFVIII is the worst of it with FFVI being the best, but im mostly alone in that im sure). Every castlevania, besides CoD which was alright, gets a very high rating from most critics and sells very well. Dawn of Sorrrow on the DS is easily one of the top 10 games on the platforms so far.

I still think Curse of Darkness was a lot crappier than Lament of Innocence was.

I think the worst PS2 game (that I've played) is without doubt YsIV. And that is not an exaggeration!

lol, now were making sense... except that ive never played Ys IV, so i wouldnt know... >_>

hmm.. worst game i own/completed on the PS2... Mega Man X7... by far... even though its still a pretty barable game, there were just too many disapointments. still, i even enjoyed Fantavision more than that, and it lasted a lot longer too, lol.

Well, Curse of Darkness was not exactly what Casltevania fans were looking for, the music upgrade, and that it was supposedly a authentic Castlevania caught my eye. Loi and CoD both had great music, but the worst Castlevania in my opinion is Casltevania 64, not my thing at all.

was that the one with the (synthesized) violin playing in the intro, or was that Legacy of Darkness (the N64 sequel)? I only got to try out both games breifly... didnt seem as bad as fans made them out to be, imo.

Castlevania 64 has only gotten great reviews as what I've seen. I also have the game and I can definitely say it's a fantastic game. Not only one of the best N64 titles, but also the best Castlevania 3D game.

I haven't played Legacy of Darkness that much, but it doesn't seem as good.

I can understand where you are coming from with good franchises going bad. Mega Man used to be really good. But from what I hear, the newer ones are all redundant, predictable, frustraiting, and have more plot holes than some cheeses. Almost the only thing worth coming back for is seeing what excuse they had for Zero coming back to life THIS time! God, just kill him off for good ONCE. Kill him off for a few years (real time) at the LEAST. This is just getting pathetic!
