I had a dream on Monday night where, for some reason, I was in a room (maybe a barn) with a bunch of spotted cows, each of them in their own little section.
And then, all of a sudden, they changed into multi-coloured ... things.
Then it ended up like a game of memory where I had to match one thing with another.
I woke up soon after. >_>

Was there a prize for matching them? Or did it just advance the plot?
Also, I had a curious dream a week ago. I dreamt that Stimpson and I had gone to an anime convention that was located at the old mall where we used to live about 14 years ago. And in the process of this,whilst we were wandering around, I became aware that I was dreaming and resolved to wake myself up. But I simply could not do it. So there I am, walking around this mall and knowing it's a dream, but being unable to do anything about it. So I resolved the only thing I could do was go into a GTA-style rampage. So I break out a pistol at the courtyard, which had been converted into an auditorium., but I can't make myself do it, because I couldn't be completely sure it was a dream. Then the pistol's ammunition fell out when I finally resolve to do it and take aim at one of the people on stage, whom I think was a musician of some kind. And whilst despairing over this, I woke up.
I don't think I was really lucid during this dream so much as part of the dream was thinking I was dreaming. It was surreal, and usually that feeling doesn't persist.

Either I need to leave off writing for awhile or someone let it slip to my muse last night that it was Halloween...Either way, had a dream that was frightening and interesting all at the same time.
For those hoping for typical vampire/zombie/werewolf fare, sorry no. My imagination's never been given to that kind of thing.
The 'story' of it began on Halloween night (imagine that), with a pair of friends who were out at another friend's party, dressed up as Hollywood style gypsies. They'd had a little bit to drink; enough they'd gotten a little lost and found themselves on the not so great side of town. Both being fairly young women, they were just sober enough to know it was nowhere for them to be. They eventually realized they were being followed and did the sensible thing: looked for the nearest church to run into. Usually there's always someone there, right?
Well they go bursting in and lock the doors behind them while calling for help; there's no one in the front of the church, for all its lit up, albeit wanly. Frightened the men who chased them to the doors might try breaking in through the windows, the young women decide to see if maybe there's a back way out of the church so they can get away from their pursuers. There's only one door leading off- and the hallway beyond is pitch black. Neither one has a flashlight so they walk hand in hand at first- then split up to start testing doors.
After a few testings, the one the 'camera' follows eventually realizes she's the only one still opening and closing doors. Thinking her friend must've found the way and then simply panicked and ran on hearing the men pounding on the doors still, she keeps trying them until she finds an open door leading into another pitch dark room. She starts through it, then feels like something's trying to slow her down, like trying to move through heavy mud without the weight. She shouts that just because she's in a costume doesn't mean she's out to play in someone's haunted house and pulls free of the 'weight', emerging into the back yard of the church where an old man is sitting in a chair.
She starts babbling about the issue that chased her out and asking if her friend already came through; all the guy will do, however, is ask her repeatedly if the lights were on or off when she came through. Finally she answers off and the man all but pounces her...to drag her toward the back gate and undo the lock, telling her to leave. Forget about her friend, forget about the men at the door- if they got in, it was to their end. As he's saying that, the doors inside the church start slamming and banging open again; he shoves her out of the gate and locks it back, telling her to follow the road up to the abandoned railroad tracks and walk on them to a section of the town she knows- don't dare set foot on the ground until day dreak.
Just drunk enough still not to question, she does as she's told- running all the faster when she hears one short, sharp cry followed by the sound of several voices of a strange, almost childish sort raised in complaint while the old iron gate rattles.
When the sun finally rises, she starts to go home; then thinks better of it. Home will mean explaining to her parents while she was out all night; something she can't adequately explain sober. She opts to go to her aunt's instead, thinking to ask her to help cover for her. On entering, it's to a panicked woman giving her a quick embrace, then quickly searching through her clothes until she she finds a necklace she'd lent her for the costume- a silver coin embedded on an iron disk. the coin itself is now tarnished looking- a bit of swiping with some silk shines it up almost unnaturally quick. The aunt then shows her the news- where the body of an unidentified pair of men, an old man and a young woman in a Halloween costume were found in an abandoned church on the bad side of town. Though nothing of the bodies is shown, the newscaster reports that DNA identification will have to be used- no other means remain as teeth, hair, eyes and blood were all taken.
Naturally the girl is torn between going home and going to the authorities; the aunt declares she'll do neither. She gives her some proper clothes to wear, then informs her to never take that necklace off; it was what got her through the church alive- but never rely on it entirely either. She robbed some Unseleigh of their fun; now she was going to have to find those of the Seleigh to shelter with if she wished to live. Until then, she couldn't ever stop running; they'd hunt her for years if need be. The aunt buys her a plane ticket, but advises any further travel be on the rail unless she has to cross the ocean...though there should be no need for that. They left the old lands ages ago, before the colonists left Europe for the Americas- there was no other land they could have gone to. They were out there; all she had to do was find them- and stay alive with a Wild Hunt at her heels.
Rest during the day, run during the night, until she finally found a true sanctuary. Never involve anyone else; all she came in contact with were rightful prey if she sought help from them. Those 'rules' stated, the aunt shoves her out- then sets about lying salt and red thread at and around her windows and doors.
The details are fuzzy after that- but needless to say the girl didn't listen at first and plenty of folks get killed before she finally wisens up and does as she was instructed. By then, she's wanted by less supernatural forces as well- as she's the only link the police have to a very bizarre seeming series of homicides.
-------
So long story short, her and her friend had tripped across a nest of Unseleigh (or faeries of the Dark Court, if you prefer). As she escaped their trap, she is now lawful prey for their hunts unless she can find a member of the Seleigh (or faeries of the Bright Court) to refuge with. She's having to do so aware that anyone who even so much as perhaps catches her when she stumbles becomes prey in turn but aren't likely to believe her if she tells them to run; and all the while aware the police are also attempting to hunt her down in turn.
Which needless to say makes it distressingly easy for the Unseleigh to track her, despite riding on steel (read: Iron and nickle) rails.
For those who might look at the above and laugh how it could possibly be scary- I'd advise to look up some of the above terms and find the actual faerie tales, not the sugar coated fairy tales they feed kids these days. They make Stephen King look bland and about as frightening as a baby's bunny slippers.
So yes, belated happy Halloween from my muse. o.o; I think I'll be nice and give her a break from the writing gig if that's the sort of thing she's sticking me with at night....

Was there a prize for matching them? Or did it just advance the plot? Well, here's the thing -- NOTHING was identical. :P It was more like matching a book to a bookshelf, chair to a table -- that sort of thing. But aside from this, I have no idea what happened afterwards. ^^;

Stimpson and I went to an anime convention yesterday, and I got tons of loot. I came home and was asleep within 20 minutes; and had nightmares of nasty little kids breaking my new toys. ;_;

I had an ALOY dream tonight! Adoru sent me a prototype of an X68000 game that he had made himself. It was a side scrolling action rpg, kind of like Ys 3 or Faxanadu, but with much bigger, more open areas (kind of like the Tigre Quarry), rather than empty corridors. There were doors in many places which you could enter, and most of them contained people talking about Korean history. The action consisted of swinging a very long sword, but as it was an early prototype, there were no enemies. The music was made by Adoru too, and it was typical sweet X68000 music. The game felt rather completed, although Adoru claimed it to be a very early version. The file size of the disk image was very large, about 12 MiB. The graphics were very complex and detailed, but at the same time, somewhat amateurish. It did look rather good, overall. Very dark. I liked it. Too bad it was not real. The story seemed uninteresting though (lots of dialogue!). Again, based on Korean history (of which I know pretty much nothing, I guess my mind just made it all up). At least it was in English. An X68000 game in English. That would have been cool. Come on Adoru, you know you want to finish this project. I can't wait to try a second prototype!

I dreamt about Kirby's biggest betrayal, Dark Matter kept turning everyone evil on him. XD
// Maybe it was "the Nightmare", but I couldn't tell. I never concluded the dream. Poor Kirby though. The dream actually had a decent storyline. XD

I also dreamt about the Faxanadu main hero performing combos and wielding a sword like Adol in the PS2 version of Ys 3. O.o Something about that just screamed awesome.

I dreamt that I went to a middle-of-nowhere (forest) Domino's, and ordered breadsticks and bbq wings. Then I had to meet up with "Fred McMahon", the owner of consolidated banks. I don't know who this "Fred McMahon" guy is. I know an Ed McMahon, but not a Fred McMahon...

I dream about video games all the time. As such I will tell you one I had very recently!
The game was kind of like Knytt with its ambience, combined with Castlevania's gameplay, with more combos and such. It was set in a gigantic area (I remember the back of the box had a little note saying "OVER 9000 SCREENS!") and was constantly expanded with patches (like monthly). The game had a system where each weapon had a specific amount of uses, but each weapon could range heavily. You would level up in like EVERY area possible. Use of iron materials, use of swords, use of a specific type of sword, jumping height, jumping distance, et cetera. It had a confusing camp system about placing a camp of different levels decided how your experience would go when the game was off. For example: a level 0 camp would subtract your experience while the game was off, but a level 100 camp would raise it up a high amount. It was something where (on average) every hour or two of grinding would give you a camp material for 1 level. You could fuse items with your camp for extra things such as a fire item fused with a camp would upgrade a fire level, or at the very least save it from subtracted with the rest of your stuff. You could hunt animals with regular weapons the same as cutting wood, or trees. For example, you could harvest trees first through the game, and then take that wood and put it through a menu, cutting it. This ALL takes uses from the weapons. Interestingly, using a weapon to its complete depletion could make it upgrade into a new weapon. Getting this new weapon would not make it a new appearance, but would give a "companion bonus" based on a bond with that particular weapon. This would be completely chance. Interestingly enough though, was that when it was fused with a spirit of an enemy (I can't remember how you collected these though...) it would become enchanted and gain a bonus on certain enemies, and change appearance when it expired because of the spirit growing. If you kept a spirit long enough, you would actually gain it in a situation like the show Shaman King, with it helping you. However, this would only work with this weapon, and its uses would now be in the form of damage it takes. This damage would be both "emotionally" and "physically". Because these would have randomly generated personalities, this emotional damage could be from it wanting to fight, or the sword wanting to be tended to.
[more to come once I get back home]

I think the worst video-game related dream I ever had was playing a version of A Boy and His Blob that have a Zork-like text command interface.
It was a terribly frustrating dream.

I don't remember much of my dream last night other than the fact that a lot of people were dying from some sort of invasion by ... something.
But man, I don't think I've had such a goddamn dystopic dream in a while. o_O Seriously, it was one of those NO HOPE FOR THE HUMAN RACE thing. Even that last bit before I woke up was just another death.
C'mon, brain. It's nearing Christmas! Give me some joy and happiness!

It was a pretty small party. Even if they were there, the dream is told through my eyes and so I've only met Hades and Medusa. I don't even know who told me to sit with Medusa (since I pay very little attention in big social groups). The dream ended with the same crazy laughter following the Medusa comment.
