Yesterday I had a weird dream. A Snatcher head with tentacles suddenly appeared out of nowhere and jumped and wrapped itself around my head and started to bite me. Since I couldn't move my arms (for whatever reason), I head-butted it or something, then I started to bite its head, eating it. Right after that I woke up and saw myself "biting" the air.
What weird dreams did you ever have?

I remember dreaming that I was a teacher's assistant at a junior school during winter, and I met this strange, sad little girl. I don't really remember much of what happened between us; only that she never really seemed to speak to any of the other children, and that I wanted to help her. The only part of the dream I remember very clearly came just before I woke up. I came to the school gates one snowy day and found her crying, and clearly distressed about something. I took her hands in mine to try and comfort her, and they were quite frighteningly cold. Looking down at them, I found I was holding nothing but snow. The girl had disappeared completely; had become nothing but the snow that danced around her. Or maybe she had been nothing but snow to begin with? I don't know. Dreams are funny like that. ^_^;
I wrote a short story loosely based around the dream, actually. There was something so terribly sad and lonely about it that I found it hard to forget...

I often dream of myself sleeping in the third person, just sitting outside my body watching myself sleep peacefully.

I dreamt that I was in the mafia, and had threatened the lives of my family. The important part?
The mob pulls into the back of my irish estate. The boss says he has a job for me, so we head up the green grassy hills on foot. Partway to our destination, hitman Lenny is freaking out. I don't know what caused him to freak out. He was having a panic attack, terrified, you could see it in his eyes. So he picks up his gun and aims it at his head...
*BANG!*
He looks at me, terrified...
He's not covered in blood. I am. I pulled the trigger on myself, either as a diversion or to show him what would happen had he pulled that trigger. I'm not entirely sure. I lower my gun, I fall on my knees, and my vision gets blurry. Did I really shoot myself? Did I just commit suicide? I ask myself the obvious, and reach for the wound in my head. I can't feel it. Are my nerves so damaged that I can no longer feel the blood dripping down my face, or the pain of the shot? I can't even feel the bullet hole, but I know it's there... I fall forward and collapse. It's hard to explain, but it "felt" like someone had put a bag over my head.
My eyes open. I pray. I reach for the wound, but I still can't feel it. I hear a voice. "What are you doing?" I ask if I just killed myself, if I'd really shot myself. She tells me that it appeared as though I were having some kind of a seizure before I woke up, and that I might have had an aneurism. I continue to pray, and collapse once more.
My eyes open. It's 5 AM. I'm still praying. I stop, and I ask myself if I'm back, if I'm alive again. The part of me that was once dead since December 2007 appears to have come back. The part of me that knows sorrow, the part of me that cares about others, it's as though it had awakened from a deep slumber. I questioned whether it was a miracle, although the right side of me; that is, my violent, angry, hateful side, just wants to write it off as a coincidence, just a dream. That susceptible side of me, that side who is vulnerable to society at large, is back. I still think about killing off this other half of me once more, but for now, I truly am complete. Now I know that I'm truly alive.
...and yes, I still want to kill the other half -- it's too much trouble and more of a burden than it's worth. ;P
I wrote this story better when I had just woken up than how I wrote it now. It sounds pretty silly now. I'll have to put the original in my "anonymous journal".

Right after that I woke up and saw myself "biting" the air. XD That's extremely hilarious! XD Though I tend to do such stuff too, since I sleep walk a lot. (Er... I once almost jumped out of a third-storey window. Thankfully, I had enough sense while sleeping to jump in the other direction!) But I dream a lot. (Everyone does?) Like two, three dreams a night at times? And if I'm lucky, I might remember something when I wake up. In most of those which I remember though, I seem to be one of the people from my stories, usually running from red dragons and almost always hiding in a gigantic dustbin because my shield refused to work and my sword snapped like a twig. XD Er... I remember one of today's (last night?) dream vaguely! It featured me hiding away in my home, locking all windows and doors because after iftar time a gigantic big lorry truck thing was coming to attack. And that truck had a man (alive) strapped to one of its front wheels who was shooting away. -___-' [And for some reason nunuu was in my dream too. I don't even know what nunuu looks like! She was a Genso Shinsyo seller. X'D]Oh! I've always wondered, does everyone see their dreams in colour or black and white? Everyone says all dreams are supposed to be in black and white buuut... I always see everything in full colour!

Does anyone find it when you have a dream, that you tend to overslept?
I remember some dreams were in color, and some only minimal color.
But i got one dream , were a friend i knew back in high school, some how became a Serial Killer, and that i was trying to find him. It was probably the strangest dream i had, since one moment i am Hong Kong, then i am somewhere else. It was really Vague

*tear* *nods* ;__;~! Elin: Your dream sounds like something out of an anime or an RPG. It's very Japanese, and very awesome. Umm...thank you, I guess? But can I really take credit for something my mind made up when I was unconscious? ^_^; My writing always ends up reading like bad anime-ish melodrama, though, so... =X I guess it's not so surprising that such influences would slip into the stories my mind writes when I'm asleep too~ Oh! I've always wondered, does everyone see their dreams in colour or black and white? Everyone says all dreams are supposed to be in black and white buuut... I always see everything in full colour! I always see mine in colour, I think. Although maybe I just that I automatically go and paint everything when I think back on them later. ^_^;

My dreams are always full-color. How else would I know that the grassy hills in my dream were green instead of blue? It was beautiful. Except for the part where I shot myself and prayed in that dream, the follow-up dream (dreams in dreams) and the prayer when I woke up. Odd. Ever since that dream though, I haven't been... excessively hateful. I've been mellow. I haven't even been angry since; if I try to be angry or hateful, it feels like empty monologue -- the same feeling of empty monologue that you get when you're trying to hide, conceal, or lie about something. It feels fake and put on. I find that disturbing, but well... so much for changes not just happening overnight. Most of my changes happen to be overnight. XD

My dreams tend to be in color.
The one I most recently recall was when I was sleeping on the floor of my ladyfriend's condo, maybe two weeks ago. I was sleeping in a sleeping bag, and in that state where you're one fifth awake and the rest asleep, and quickly hitting fully asleep. I dream I was sleeping in that sleeping bag, but it was at a crossroads a couple miles from my house. But there I was, trying to get to sleep, and I knew my dog (a little Jack Russel Terrier) was out there, too.
Then something tried to unzip my sleeping bag, and I though it was the dog. But I found out otherwise all of a sudden, punches just started raining the fuck down on me, shocking the hell out of me and beating me harf senseless; like some crazy SNK rubber-arm punching business. I was trying desperately, and without any luck, to fend them off when I realized in between the hailstorm of punching me the guy assaulting me was trying to slip his hand into my shirt pocket and steal the money I had in there! And I panicked; this guy was gonna kill me to steal my money!
Then, suddenly, the blows stop. Then the sleeping bag gathers up around me, and I lift from the ground. He's carrying me off! A few moments, the bag is set down, and my unseen assailant starts raining blows on me again. Then I snap awake, terrified for my life. It took a few moments after that to calm down, and probably a good minute for my heart to stop racing.

I've read in dreams. But it's pretty uncommon; generally it only happens when I pay attention to whatever needs reading. Otherwise stuff is just kinda there, in the background and ignored.

I've read in dreams. O.o "planet lunch ploids" ... after I read, I heard this "whirr" sound followed by violent vibrations to every nerve and layer of skin on me, which woke me up. Looking into mirrors in my dreams, and most often physical contact will also do that to me.

I had a bad dream once that I got in a fight and lost. My enemy gave the killing blow by stabbing me with a knife while screaming in agony. Whats weird about the dream was that my body felt like it really reacted to the imaginary knife and that I was really drowning in my own blood until I awoke.
Another weird dream was that I was fighting a horde of enemies in the gym with a two handed claymore with a black mage by my side.

Aww...the snow-girl dream was such an awfully sad one...
..Strangest dream I ever had that I was actually in (usually I dream 'third person' as it were. O.o; and thus am rarely in them)....
I had gone to visit a friend; but I couldn't remember which friend it was. Only that they wanted me to come see them at this old house. So I went there, and the house was huge- no one answered when I knocked so I went in to look for them.
Inside, it was nothing but halls lined with doors from that main room- but there weren't rooms behind the doors. Just voices, some of people I knew and liked, some of people I hated. When I stepped in them, I became them looking at me and seeing me how they saw me, evidently. I could always back out of the door, however, and be 'me' again. I started to get scared and began running through the house yelling names- but the rooms started getting filled with voices I DIDN'T know. When I tried to look back; the hall led back into nothing. I could only keep going forward. Every time I stepped out from a door after that, it disappeared.
I finally got to the end of the hall way and there was a door at the very end- there was hardly any hall left behind me anymore. Everything had just vanished and I was afraid I might too so I opened the door. There was just a brick wall beyond it, no room to escape into..and because I opened it, that empty space swallowed everything up.
That's when I woke up. Sounds pretty trite put like this but I've never been able to forget it. Wasn't the nicest dream I've ever had but definitely the strangest.

Members from this forum show up in my dreams sometimes, and I frequently have dreams about alien encounters, which frighten the hell out of me.
Usually they involve running from a ship that is very close to the ground. In the last one, there was music in it, and it sounded like one might expect alien music to sound. It was chimey, like a music box, but the melody was scary.
Also, from time to time I have sleep paralysis, and it feels like something else is in the room, you can't move, and you want to scream and you can't do that either!

Also, from time to time I have sleep paralysis, and it feels like something else is in the room, you can't move, and you want to scream and you can't do that either! Wow, I didn't know there was such a thing! That sounds... rather scary. Hm, perhaps there are some ways for you to "counter" this? Dunno, I just thought of something like letting a game music play and keep looping while you sleep, so when you ever have that sleep paralysis, you wouldn't feel bad because at the time you'd wake up you would be listening to a music you really enjoy, therefore countering this... I don't know if that would work. Just a theory. Also interesting post reads, everyone! I'm feeling too lazy to comment on every sacred post xD But that doesn't mean I didn't read them, naturally... hehe. ' Oh, also, I heard there's a method for one to control one's dream. It was something about leaving some notepad under "that-thing-which-you-lay-your-head-down-above-the-bed" (forgot the word for it ). Then, everyday after you wake up, instantly grab the notepad or whatever and write down what you dreamed before your memory of the dream fades away. I forgot what to do after that, but I know it starts like that. I should try that myself sometime.

Sleep paralysis sucks. It hasn't happened to me in a while, but when it does, it's creepy!

I get sleep paralysis from time to time, but my experiences usually aren't very creepy as they are annoying, because I'll want to move and be completely unable to do so, so instead I spend my time fighting it and failing to do anything, generally whilst going between sleep and wakefulness.
Edit: Pillow?
I've had almost lucid dreams, where I realize I'm in a dream, and feel a sort of hopelessness because I want to wake up but don't know how. But I never really seem to get any control of things. Usually this won't last long, and I'll fall back into the flow of the dream and forget all about the realization.

Frustrating is how I'd describe Sleep Paralysis. You want to do something, and you can't.
I had a really bad instance of it last march, the night before the Primary elections. I was a presiding judge over a precinct, and was very nervous about it. So I ended up with a nasty case of sleep paralysis, in which I kept wanting to go check the clock in the other room, because I was mortally terrified of oversleeping. But I couldn't. Then I'd fall asleep and have a short dream about going to check it or trying to check it, and then wake up from the results of that; try to check it, then doze off again. Can't recall how many cycles of that I went through. Didn't sleep well, obviously. But at least when the damn thing did go off, I was such a nervy wreck I was able to immediately leap to my feet and start getting dressed and hauling my ass out the door. =[

That sleep paralysis thing does indeed sound EXTREMELY creepy. I don't get that, but I'll admit I am a bit scared of ghosts and aliens and things, and as a result, I hate sleeping in a totally silent room if I know I'm alone. Sounds just like the opposite of me. On some nights I just get the urge to get scared for fun. So I start looking up for scary videos, pictures, stories, etc. online while in being alone in the dark. Sometimes I find something that gets me mildly creeped out but nothing that really frightens me. I was so easily scared when I was a up till my teen years. Honestly, I think playing some survivor horror games is what ended that though. I remember when I moved into my new room when I was 12 I just woke up screaming in the middle of the night for no good because I felt there was a ghost in my room. xd As for weird dreams. Well I can't remember all of it but today I dreamt my sister and I were placed into some bizarro Mario Soccer/Kart game by some demon from hell. The other players there were Mario characters and they were holding weapons such butcher knives, spiked baseball bats, guns.... can't recall what else. But there was this one guy riding on a tractor for one of the teams. So seeing that I got the hell out of there and ended up in some alley. I think it turned out that really wasn't my sister there but something else. I had a bad dream once that I got in a fight and lost. My enemy gave the killing blow by stabbing me with a knife while screaming in agony. Whats weird about the dream was that my body felt like it really reacted to the imaginary knife and that I was really drowning in my own blood until I awoke. This reminded me of one dream. I was robbing a bank for some reason. As I was escaping I got into a shootout with some other criminals and ended up being shot by a machine gun. I was lying on the ground being repeatedly shot at. There was a little pain at first but afterwards it just felt like I was going to sleep. When my eyes closed in the dream I woke up.

Wow. That sounds really, really Twilight Zone-y. And terrifying! -Tom Hehe...terrified is definitely the word for how I felt when I snapped out of it. It was one of those creepily surreal dreams that just FEELS real, even though you know it can't be. ---- Urgh...sleep paralysis is evil. =/ To those who've never experienced it- you're lucky. The first time's scary as you could ever think it until you realize what's going on. It's only dangerous if it's the kind that interferes with other basic functions though, such as breathing. That would be where the legends of a demon sitting on your chest, drawing your breath away to choke you comes from.
