Building a Web Page/Site

I recently got a Macromedia Dreamweaver 8 (included in the Creative Cast package^^) and am wanting to build a site.

Problem is.... I DUNNO HOW

So I googled around but couldn't find a tutorial that explains it in human language.

I just want to build a basic site:

- a welcome page where you click a big image to enter the main page ()
- a banner on top with buttons (updates, contents, links, guestbook etc.)
- a Paypal donate button somewhere (hehehe)
- background wallpaper?
- a side bar whatever-you-call-it on both left and right to put something in
- and the main space in the middle to.... put the main stuff in!!!

Also, I dunno what size the images for the banners, background, and buttons etc. are supposed to be. Are there downloadable templates for them?

I'll look around some more to see what I can find.

Meanwhile, I'll appreciate it if you could provide any help too^^

it sounds like you're trying to do a fancy layout webpage...

suggestion: get a cheap html book and start there and take a look at this page www.htmlgoodies.com

In Dreamweaver, simply click File -> New.

Then choose Framesets -> Fixed Top, Nested Bottom (that'll make the sort of page you want to make). Otherwise, just choose any sort of layout you like here (there are preview images).

Now that you've created a page, click on the Modify tab and choose Page Properties (or just press CTRL+J).

Here you can customize various things such as background pictures, default text and link colors, etc.

That should get you started. If you need to know anything else, just ask!
