I got the same message from Amazon, but they said that the game would ship on march 2nd, and arrive on the 13th. release on 2/24 arrive 3/13?? Three weeks? That's a bit like Crap don't you think? Plus, if every copy gets the discs, I could just preorder it from any store and pick it up on the 24th right? Should I cancel my order? Are you talking about the free shipping? I've found they pretty much always ship everything sooner then they say they will, but, that's just my experience.

Yeah, isn't it awesome!!! This may be obvious, but the name is Legacy of Ys: Books I & II. It's gonna have multiplayer, too, but I don't know how that'll work. Seriously though, it's gonna be so much bigger than the originals, and from what I've seen (or should I say, heard) the music is still as good as it was in the originals. I jsut can't wait till it comes out on February 10th of this year. Here's to some new Ys games in the USA!

The reason for the delay, according to Atlus, is so that every copy can have the CD with it. So it's a good delay. Wait, a CD? Sorry for the double post, but I have to know what CD it is! Please tell me, is it an OST? Thanks.

Yep, and everyone has to have one now, instead of the cool guys who pre-ordered the game.
I think they produced too many cd's, and didn't get enough pre-orders, so instead of throwing all the cd's out, they extend the release date, and include them with every copy.

It's likely that it's just an OST of the DS versions of Ys I + II, the same one as the one that was released in Japan. The BGM of the games is comparable to a poorly converted midi -> MOD -- you'll hear poorly executed pitch bends throughout. Infact, I wouldn't be surprised at all if they used the Modplug Tracker software to do this, and converted straight from Falcom's midis, via Ys I + II Complete.
Believe me, for I own the Japanese release in the special box, which included an Ys pendant, the OST, and both games in their respective cases, with their manuals and inserts. Why the US release doesn't include the Ys pendant is beyond me, but it's practically the exact same all around.
I find it odd how Atlus put both games on a single cart, but it's cool. I'm hopeful, however, that they correct the conversions to sound more like their midi counterparts which they are entirely converted from. I also hope that they correct the poor pixelation (two pixels here, three pixels there, and one pixel there, etc.) issues that the game suffers from.

~~ATLUS FOR GREAT JUSTICE!!~~I can't believe how worth it it was to pre-order it. And they inlcuded such nice artwork for the soundtrack case, outer case and manual, inlcluding sketch illustrations, and an entire history/timeline of the Ys series! Whoa! Atlus has officially earned a hearty handshake and undying respect! -Thomas

The packing is very nice, but since I already have the Japanese boxset to compare it with.... a part of me thinks they could have done much better...? I mean, I LOVED the big box the two games came in along with the dangly hanging thing (and the soundtrack case of Atlus' release looks like its just a simple card slipcase...? Is it one?).
But!
The part that has left me wow-ed are the pretty illustration sketches! Very very verrrrryyyy nice! <3 Those alone might just make it halfway worth it to pick up this English version!

Yakra: It is just a cardboard slip-case, but that's pretty much a standard thing with American promotional items when it comes to extra discs. The cases that they come with aren't too nice to begin with, but this one has artwork on both sides of the sleeve and on the cd as well, which is quite nice considering it was just a promotional bonus. The outer cardboard jacket that the game comes in is also something that isn't in the standard version that is being sold. Not bad considering it didn't cost me anything else on top of the regular price of the game.
And yeah the sketches are nice. However, my camera shots of it suck because the lens was all blurry due to all the crying from all of the awesomeness that it was about to try and take a picture of. It just couldn't handle it...
Oh and anyone who pre-ordered, it you will most likely get everything since it was all bundled together inside that outer cardboard jacket, so I wouldn't worry too much about that.

Heh, for Wyrdwad's game: "Atlas: World Tournament" You know, for that fighting game you'd mentioned, involving the worlds being lobbed into the air.

Personally, I thought the music wasn't that bad, but I'd like to hear some more electric guitar arrangements...but that's just me. I agree though, the graphics aren't the greatest; it honestly looks a bit cheap to me... Since I'm an Ys fan, though, it was worth it. =)

GAH totally forgot this was even coming out. I don't really want to get it if the soundtrack doesn't come with it anymore though >_>
