Dude, three words: PANZER DRAGOON ORTA.
That is reason enough to snag a cheap Xbox.

.............. I'm not surprised.
Go back and play PDO man, its such a fantastic game. Wait, you mean to tell me you've never played Panzer Dragoon Saga? Its one of the best RPG's ever made.

Well, if you were my next door neighbor, we wouldn't have that problem, would we?
You really need a Saturn man. I thought someone with your taste in video games would have already owned one.

Well, if you come across a "This is Cool!" Saturn, be sure to pick it up. Those are damn fine consoles, and rare to boot!

Here's what I realized about the Panzer Dragoon series after owning and playing the entire series (game gear game being the exception) - you gotta own them all. Except for the first one of course since that's included in Orta anyway. Zwei and Saga are connected since their save files unlock extras from each other.
Plus SPOILERS Orta references Saga.
Oh and the FMVs on Orta are choppy when played on the 360. Not to mention the graphical glitches on one of the boss battles.
Yep, the Xbox was worth the purchase.

They've all got extremely good music. ORTA's is the best by far. My love for it is undying.

Virtual On arrived in my mailbox today^^ 4 freakin dollars for a Japanese Saturn game in like-new condition with spine card is AWESOME!
I'm planning to buy Saturn Bomberman next, but my friends are pressuring me to get Twinkle Star Sprites.
I could get the Japanese version of Saturn Bomberman for about $20, while Twinkle Star Sprites averages to about 60 to 90 dollars.
Hmmmmmm....

Man, both are awesome, but TSS is very much a fun game with friends.

I gave Twinkle Star Sprites a shot on MAME, and I enjoyed it a lot - enough that I put it on my to buy list, especially because the Saturn version is considered the best on. My only complaint is that it was too easy - I beat it in under 10 minutes on my first try.
Anyway, I just got Saturn Bomberman (Japanese) for $13 from eBay!
I'll probably get Soukyugurentai Otoukyo next, especially since I'm not willing to throw $160 for Radiant Silvergun just yet (I'm saving it up to when I get a better job after I graduate from college).
My friend also wanted me to get Magic Knight Rayearth because he said he was a big Rayearth fan and wanted to play the game real bad after I showed him the trailer on Youtube. I'm planning to get it, but not very soon.

Which version of MKR are you getting, Japanese, or English? Believe me, there are huge differences.
Also, Sokyu~ is AWESOME!!!!!
You're also in for a big treat with S-Bomberman. The music is really, really good. If you enjoy it, be sure to check out Bomberman '94 on PC Engine. Its very much the predecessor of Saturn Bomberman.

I'm planning to get MKR in english first, then in Japanese for collection purposes. It's not really on my high priority list because for one thing, I prefer my MKR in Japanese, two I could just go watch the anime or read the manga. Sokyu is awesome because I loved the atmosphere and gameplay when I played it in MAME (though emulation wasn't perfect and the game crashes like 1/3 on the way). Looking forward to Saturn Bomberman^^ I promised my friends I'd purchase it next pay day since the ones available on eBay a few days ago go for around 50 bucks in the like-new condition. Thank god somebody was smart enough (or dumb enough XD) to list it for $12! Oh and er.... I still need to beat Shining the Holy Ark I wanna sell it soon so I could start saving up for Shining Force 3.

WD did some big fixes to the games engine out of necessity. A good chunk of the original data was lost in a HD crash (Along with PDS too apparently), which meant some parts of the game run a bit better. The dialogue is of course in English, and its pretty crappy, even by WD standards. The nice thing is they took out 80% of the talking, which means you can breeze through the text pretty quickly. In the Japanese version, you have to listen to them babble and babble and babble on for what seems like forever. Even NPC's talked, yet you couldn't skip past it. Its great at first, but when you start a new game, it takes over 30 min before you even get to move your character, and another 20 before you can even swing a sword.
I'm glad to hear you are planning on getting both copies, because there is something in each game that is a little different. Plus, the Japanese version is dirt cheap.
Also, I noticed you said you could read the manga/watch the series. The game has a different story from the original CLAMP plot. The basic premise is the same, but the middle of the story is very different. So, I kind of recommend watching the series again, so you are somewhat familiar with what the changes are. Its a welcome change for those who are into the series, and I don't think it will disappoint.
As for Shining Force 3, you need to save up for the first chapter, and the second, because it got a full translation patch. The third chapter is almost done too!
God I love Sega Saturn!

Think I'm gonna add the PS3 Slim to my "buying soon" list. Originally, my plan was to wait until the next batch of slims roll out in case the 1st gen ones have issues but I Googled here and there and there doesn't seem to be many complaints!
Guess I'll keep my eye out for some nifty bundle. There's nothing I REALLY want to play right now on the PS3 though. Maybe Bayonetta. Maybe DJHero? ^^ Maybe Tales of Vesperia (although I'd rather wait for a localization ... if it'll ever happen).
They'll be more next year though. :B!
Sengoku Basara 3 is the main one I'm looking forward to~~~~~~~~~~~~~~!!! :DDDDDDDD

Killzone 2 is really good as well. I've got a good handful of PS3 titles, Nunuu. Just let me know when you are ready to buy, and I'll fill you in on what's good.

I heard you can play Dreamcast imports and backups without the need for a boot disc. If true, that'd be great since I'll get to know which games to invest money in.
Of course, Bangai-O, Ikaruga, and Tech Romancer are already in my to buy list ^^

Depends. Backups no, import stuff yes. Utopia will not work on newer DC's while it does work on on old ones (1999). Backups are usually made "self boot", when you burn them, but others may need utopia, or gameshark to boot. Utopia is free to make, but is kind of rom-o-riffic if you know what I mean.
So if you are planning on buying legit copies of games, snag the region DC that goes with them. If not, make sure the DC is older, so that it will boot utopia.

What about Demon's Souls? And Uncharted 2 (which may be the single most highly-rated game I've ever seen in my life)? And Brutal Legend? And Valkyria Chronicles! C'mon, those all look awesome!! (: Me playing Demon's Souls? Aahahahahaha. I think I'll rack up more deaths than ANY player on the planet for that game. I guess I wouldn't mind trying it though. It'll probably be a rental first, however. Valkyria Chronicles is not my cup of tea. Brutal Legend, however, looks like goofy fun! ^^ My main genres of interest (mindless) hack and slash, action, rhythm, and RPG. I generally do not play SRPGs, FPSs, platforming stuff, fighters, or shooters. I definitely do not play sports games other than the silly Wii Sports and stuff.

Meah, I've seen both games in action, and I'd rather get Dragon Age over Demon Souls.
