Well, I cancelled the preorder for Knights of the Nightmare PSP port and got Tales of the World: Radiant Mythology instead.

IMO the most notable title out of your list of purchases is EDF ;P Though it's a game I will only play multiplayer. Solo it just feels like too much of a grind.
Also my most recent ex-girlfriend was half-German, half-French Canadian. Guess a French Canadian & German couple isn't as entirely out of left field as I originally thought?

Haha, apparently not. She's an exchange student, so it's doomed to ending, but whatever. Yeah, I loved playing EDF on multiplayer, with my little bro. Do you have MSN or AIM or something? Mind if I add you, since I'd like to discuss a lot of stuff with you!

Reposting ma list. Changed SW3 to SW3Z since the game's finally coming out for the PS3. I be a Musou lemming!!! But those games have been demoted to iffy these days. Technically, I should be buying Phantasy Star Portable and Portable 2 as well since I've finished both games in their Jolly Roger forms. I wonder if they'll ever go on sale on PSN? .... Just spotted a bunch of games I have on my Amazon wish list. Stuffed them all onto the iffy list. XD Here be the current list~ - Kirby's Epic Yarn
- Sengoku Basara: Samurai Heroes
- Super Scribblenauts
On the iffy list are: - Ghost Trick
- Lufia DS
- Samurai Warriors 3Z
- Dynasty Warriors 7
- Last Ranker
- Vanquish
- Nier
- Enslaved
- 3D Dot Game Heroes
- Resonance of Fate
- Castlevania: Lords of Shadow

Well Nunuu, if you're a Castlevania fan, do NOT buy Lords of Shadow. I have never felt so ripped off in my life. It isn't a bad game on it's own, but it's a terrible excuse for a Castlevania game. If I wanted to play God of War, I'd have played God of War. Also, the music was really bland and the enemies were pretty generic.
3D Dot Game Heroes is pretty fun, I have it, I like it. Also, speaking of Musou, I really want them to hurry up with Dynasty Warriors Gundam 3. That and the new Gundam Next game or whatever it's called for the PS3. It looks awesome!
My list of things I want/have preordered:
Lufia DS Kingdom Hearts RE: Coded Ys I and II Chronicles Limited Edition (which we all know they'll make) Super Mario All-Stars Limited Edition
And some of the new 3DS stuff. Because I really want a 3DS.

On the other hand if you like a game with a great art style, good music, and general grand feel to it, get Lords of Shadow
...and get ready to deal with occasional wonky gameplay. I still intend to buy it for myself some day.
NuuTableFlip also reminded me that I also need to get Resonance of Fate at some point. It's the game I should've bought and played instead of FFXIII

It all depends on your expectations, really. It isn't a bad game, but if you're a hardcore Castlevania fan (like me, owning 17 18 Castlevania games) you just find that the game really doesn't feel at all like a part of the series. It's like if Falcom decided to let Ninja Theory make an Ys game to appeal more to western audiences. It might be a decent game, but it would certainly disappoint you as an Ys fan.
And as this isn't a Lords of Shadow discussion thread, I should probably make a discussion thread and let this one go back to being about games I plan to buy.
Which includes Legend of Heroes VI, now that I think about it, so add that to my list.

Floofy bought Lords of Shadow and turned it back in before even completing chapter 2. I think that speaks volumes for its quality. Or is QUALITY more appropriate a term?

I traded mine back in, too. Although I kept all the shiny special edition stuff, so maybe when the game drops down to like $25 I'll buy it again just to have it. But I needed the extra money to get Oath in Felghana, and I'll take it over Lords of Shadow ANY day.

I sorta...kinda...actually finished the whole thing...very much didn't feel like a Castlevania, but the game itself wasn't bad. It had some flaws and pros I can point out if Michi makes the thread.

Mixed information about LoS. D:! I think I'll pick it up when it's in the $20-a-game bin. ^^
Nier's actually got a lot of mixed opinions too but that's one game I've always been curious about ... even though I have a sneaky suspicion that it might be a game I would throw out the window eventually. XD

Nier's hard to get into, but if you can look past its immediate shortcomings, it's well worth playing. Not a perfect game by any means, but what it does well it does SO well that not much can compare. Also, bullet hell action RPG.
I just hope you have a strong enough will to deal with how incredibly depressing the game is.

Also, bullet hell action RPG. So... Ys?

Ahahaha, no. Ys ain't got nothing on the bullet patterns in Nier. (Although I will say that Nier is a bit easier in general since you can destroy and/or block MOST bullets, even if I don't myself.)

...but if you're a hardcore Castlevania fan (like me, owning 17 18 Castlevania games) Do YOU have belmont plushies too? I wouldn't say LoS's music was great. It was orchestrated, but nothing memorable about it in the least. The art direction and the combat system were the only two things going for it. The actual engine itself (regarding platforming elements and so on) as well as the horribly written story detract a lot. The game doesn't get interesting until a few chapters in, and then it stops getting remotely interesting once you get further and further past the castle. Then they suddenly backload all the attempts at story in the final boss intro and just dump random plotholes and try and patch it up with one-lines. The writing was just haberdash. Difficulty levels were 'conceptually' done correctly (improved AI reaction at the higher levels) but ultimately were meaningless due to how everything was setup in regards to sub weapons and magic. I have yet to see any truly inspired games come out of Spain.

I WISH I had Belmont plushies...I need to get on that. I had ordered the set of 4 Castlevania figures that came out a couple years ago, and they were backordered for nearly a year. When they finally came back in stock, I had forgotten about it and they charged my old credit card instead of my newer one. So it got cancelled and I got nothing. Which makes me sad. I do have a REALLY nice Symphony of the Night wall scroll and a few other little Belmont collectibles. And like 10 CDs of Castlevania music that I bought along the way. So...yeah.

The final boss of Lords of Shadow was a huge disappointment....easiest final boss ever with nothing to really make him stand out.

You can't have an easier final boss than Dawn of Ys', though!

But you CAN have an easier boss than Mask of the Sun. That was total crap, that was. Guh...
