I have just enough Microsoft Points left for one Rock Band song.
... A Whiter Shade of Pale by Procol Harum comes out on Tuesday
And yes, my intense want to buy that single song warrants me posting it in this topic. (though it was really a surprise and not even in my top 5 songs I want in Rock Band)

But you CAN have an easier boss than Mask of the Sun. That was total crap, that was. Guh... The thing about the final boss for Mask of the Sun is that he isn't hard per se. It's just ... the sheer stupidity of the invincibility of his attacks that makes it seem that way. Seriously, if they just LET us land successful attacks during those parts of the battle, he would have gone down so damn fast. .... Or am I remembering things wrong? XD Afterall, it's been years since I've played the game/wrote the walkthrough. A hard fight for me would be ... the crazy turkey boss from Ys SEVEN. I would also vote the Ys Eternal/Complete/Chronicles Dark Fact battle as being a tough fight too but I think that damn thing relies mostly on chance to succeed. Well, it's either chance or just the patience and reflexes to hit him at places where you won't end up cornering yourself onto a small piece of land. >_> OH YEAH. The main reason why I even wanted to post is that I wanted to add TRINITY: Souls of Zill O'll to my list of games to buy. ^^

Good to hear they're on the ball. Play-Asia decided to keep me in the dark for a CD I was buying for my friend as a gift. Even after the estimated delivery time passed, they STILL never e-mailed to tell me of the situation. *I* had to inquire. And I had to do this TWICE.
Then they cancelled the order which had something that was already in stock on it as well. >_> Oh, uh, I asked them to cancel the CD that was N/A since there was no point waiting if they couldn't get the damn thing after 2 months.
However, they never even apologized when I wrote them to tell them that I WANTED the item that was in stock.
Well, that's only one case of customer service idiocy from Play-Asia and considering I've ordered from them multiple times in the past without issue, I wasn't going to stop buying from them. :3

I've had problems with play-asia when ordering an audio CD as well. Well more like my problem was that the CD was indefinitely backordered and they didn't tell me. But after a quick back and forth they easily canceled my order for it. And a few more years ago I ordered some Beatmania CDs from them and they outright forgot to send me one of the CDs. Again a quick back and forth and they got my the one they missed.
I also dealt with toysnjoys with no issue but this was yeaaaars ago. Like 2001. They're the guys I got my PSX Rockman and SNES Rockman & Forte from.

I saw Nier mentioned earlier and I have to recommend it. Basically if you enjoy story and music, then you'll probably enjoy Nier. The gameplay isn't the greatest but it's nothing bad, and it can be a bit slow to start but once you get through the first few hours the game really starts to impress. I initially wasn't going to buy it at all, but then I'd heard some of the songs and started to get swayed, then I learned who the English voice actors were for the main characters and caved in. Basically Nier, Kaine and Weiss have my 3 favorite voice actors and they did some of their best work with this game. And I'm a guy that typically hates dubs if that helps you gauge how good their work was. www.youtube.com/watch?v=D4VA8furPFsThis song is a nice comparison to playing Nier. The first 14 seconds is the prologue, 15-24 is the first mission, 25-39 is the first dungeon, 40-55 is the 2nd dungeon (also the dungeon where this plays), 1:25 is where you meat Kaine and it just gets better from there. And it really does just get better as you go imo, even once you beat it and start your first NG+ you unlock additional story scenes that push the game into overdrive really. Most people's biggest complaints were the sidequests, which you never actually have to do besides one near the start so you can just skip them if you find them boring. Although they all tend to have their own little sub stories that are pretty touching in their own way (I'd say do the lighthouse series if you do decide to skip them) I played the game 4 times in a row, and bought it for $60 new and bought the dlc. I'd do it again if it meant getting the Grimoire Nier book in English too. As it stands the price has already dropped a bit so it's still a good purchase. But you do have to give the game that chance to shine. As it stands it's my biggest surprise of the year though and the one game I've gotten the most of my money out of honestly.

Nier is the best console RPG I've played in many, many years. I'd say it's worth $40 just for the story alone! But be warned, like cronorei said, it takes a while to get going; I'd go so far as to say that it takes as long to start as the average JRPG. But once it does get going, you will never want it to stop, I can guarantee it. It's the most emotional, soul-crushing rollercoaster ride imaginable, with an eminently lovable cast (made even better by my lord and savior Jamieson Price and the lovely Laura Bailey) and a soundtrack that will reach for your heart and tug at your soul. If you buy ANY RPG this year, make it Nier. There's no way you could regret it, unless you can't stand games with somewhat low budgets.
For reference... I'm generally completely indifferent to spoilers, often seeking them purposely (I even did so with Sora no Kiseki), but Nier's story is so good that I don't even spoil a single detail for my friend who has less than no interest in the game (having hated Drakengard). That should really speak for just how incredible it is.

Yeah I'm loving Nier and just sold another friend on it last night. The best way I can describe the game is haunting. Just haunting.

(sigh) I have no self-control. No willpower. I bought the Hatsune Miku PSP-3000 bundle. My justification? I already have the game, so I can give the new copy of it to a friend as a Christmas present... and since I already have a PSP, I can give THAT to ANOTHER friend as a Christmas present. ...But it's still a LOT of money to spend on something I absolutely, positively do NOT need. -Tom As the man who has 3 different DS models and bought a second PS3 because it had a prettier design than the one he had, I suppose I can't really speak here

Being able to indulge in simple pleasures such as that does the mind a lot of good, at least.
And I say this as someone who is very tight with his dosh.

Clearly your coworkers aren't familiar with the sheer strength of the Wyrdwall at full capacity if they even bothered trying to change your mind

If Wyrdwad Tom were a servant in f/sn, his Noble Phantasm would be the Wyrdwall, which provides the ultimate defence to any spell or attack that's below A-rank, as well as any other Noble Phantasm's below A-rank.
