The Ancient Land of Ys that is!
Ahoy, this is Allen Smithee, from HG101, so a couple of my buds there are the cause for me to come here. I hope to have a wicked slicked time though...
To say it, here is what I've played from Ys:
-Ys TG16 (loong time ago. I was like 5 and played for a short time...)
-Ys I & II on PC (best experience I've had in an RPG. It made me feel like awesome was welling up inside and whatnot! Super cool.)
-Ys Oath in Felghana (haven't beaten it. I played for a short time, to check if it would work on my PC, but I'm gonna buy it before I go on. Plus, I heard it was only partially translated or something)

It's like... 99% translated. There is a 100% translation, but we won't get it for a long time (as per the translators' requests). The only things missing are some important text, but there's a script translation that comes with the patch for those.

I've been planning on finishing up the YsF translation myself. Since some guy posted a translation of that text here, inserting it will not be hard. All that's needed is to edit one of the image files that is located in the YsF folder so that it has the translated text instead of the japanese. If I do it, I will post it here. I know how to do it, since I have already edited some of those image files.  Haha, also: Welcome to the site, by the way, Mr. Dood. Also, I have no idea what your username refers to, but there's a hidden room in Ys Eternal which is called "Alan Smithy's graveyard". I have no idea who that is, either. |

@fm-77:Well, the name Allen Smithee is just an anonymous name used in the film industry. Its a nickname that I have both on and offline. To be honest, the Alan Smithy's Graveyard is probably named after the same thing. There are alternate spellings that fit that area name perfectly. Also, I'd prolly be able to help if the text/graphics editing is all you'd need me to do. @justin: Yo man! I was looking for you on here. Yeah HG101 is a good board, and its my second homestead on the net. A great place to hang out, but some very interesting opinions arise on the boards there sometimes.

Just kidding, but he does have some crazy views. What it really boils down to though is that because of the type of games the website focuses on, you get... different... views on things. Some people are graphics whores, but only look at stuff 8-bit and below, and other crazy things.
Does that about cover it, Justin?

haha yeah, ottawa to be specific, although I've only been to Parliament like once, and actually been around downtown twice (my Japanese class is there)
What's worse is that I've lived here my entire life. Sad, I know.

Its nice to see another Canadian here, I think the total is up to 4 now? FM_USER - I would like to raise many examples, and maybe talk about Shadow Hearts some more, but alas, I am going to get in trouble Yeah Wryd I did it again, I know  |
