This is starting to drive me insane.
I've heard the name "Adol" be pronounced three different ways in the Ys series. One being pronounced "Aye-Doll" from Ys Book I & II Turbo Duo version, one being pronounced "Ah-Doll" from the Ys Anime video series, and "Aheh-Doll" from Ys VI: Ark of Napishtim.
Why did Falcom change the pronunciation for Adol's name?
lol Discuss.

I doubt it was Falcom that did anything, just dubbing groups that interpreted it however they wanted.

Adol as in "Hey Doll" is how I pronounce it. Pronunciation stuck with me since I heard it on the PCE Ys I & II.

This is how I pronounce Adol's name -- The Finnish way. Click! You also get to hear my voice. xDD!! Nice! Also, it's funny! That's EXACTLY how his name is pronounced in portuguese too! Not "AAdol", but "adOl". Which sounds closer to japanese's "adoRU" too, from what I notice.

I call him Ah-Dole
Prolly won't change. Sometimes I call him Adol too, because I change it up.

As far as I know, and I could be wrong, the closest equivalent to the pronunciation of any U in japanese, like in "Sakura", would be "Sakra". The U is only used for that ever-so-slight pause when saying something. Like in "OK desu ka?", the "desu ka?" part actually sounds like "deska?" when said by fluent/native Japanese. Again, I could be wrong, but that's all I pick up on when I hear it spoken.
// Please, feel free to correct me.

That's right, because vowels are mandatory in Japanese. There's the standalone a, i, u, e, o -- then there's ka, ki, ku, ke, ko, and so on and so forth. So let's see if I can break this down... "Adoru" should sound like "Aw-dow-r". So the actor saying "Oddol" should be surprisingly close to the actual pronunciation? I can't believe it! (Am I wrong?) With some patience, I too, could learn hiragana. I can't imagine *typing* in hiragana, though. I wonder what those keyboards look like... // When I try to say it, it almost sounds like "Otter". "Aw-dOh-r" Awdohr. That "o" sound gets me, because you actually say "Oh" when you pronounce it, right?

Heh, that's how I try to hunt down how a name should be pronounced. xD
I.e., there's a character named "Ciel". In japanese they say "SHI - E - RU". But that name is french (and it means "sky"). And it's pronounced totally different from the japanese counterpart. xD
Anyway, from what I had heard, I thought the last syllable was the one to 99% of the time to get emphasis, and that wouldn't happen only when there was a " - " after the syllable (which means prolongation).

Yeah, Wyrd is right. I take Japanese lessons and that is how it is.
I don't think you can base it on Japanese pronunciation unless it is a Japanese word...

Isn't Adol just a variation of Adolf?

There's a Ys III spoof patch that makes Adol into "Adol Fitler". It's pretty comical.
