When I was relatively young, about 4 ft. tall, in school, there was this project. You had to write about yourself, what you liked, tell your mom that she was a special person to you, and state what you wanted to be when you grew up.
For this project, I wrote "a dad".
It seems bizarre now, because of my sexist remarks and lack of trust in women. I'd always wanted to be a dad; or even a family man. I'm not so confident now that I'll get that, considering where I've been (in my head) all this time.
So, what were your dreams and aspirations since kindergarten? Did you ever fulfill them? Are you confident that you will fulfill them?

This is going to sound kinda stupid... I always wanted to be a ninja, pro snowboarder, game designer (and character designer) and a composer...all at the same time. Did I ever fulfill them? no, yes..& no, no (no) and no. Damn!

I also recall stating that I wanted to be that "jack of all trades hero" type. XD I meant everything, from being a policeman, fireman, doctor, I wanted everything to do with saving lives. Did I succeed? No; instead, I came to hate people and look forward to their inevitable doom. X) I'm always the opposite of what I wanted to be.

Good to know someone out there is looking forward to my inevitable (and possibly untimely) death. XD I kinda understand how ya feel, about people I mean. I live happily alone, and I probably will die happily alone...under a tree...somewhere.
Hopefully I'll be reborn as a pixel. XD

I always wondered though -- why are there quotation marks around the R? I thought it'd be for "are" but that makes no sense. Is it Toys FOR Us? ^^

Yeah, worse case scenario for me is...leaving my possessions behind for my gf/wife to look after. And that's bad. Like for example A: She sells my stuff/games on Ebay for half the price they're worth, and spends the money on a gold plated hair dryer; B: Glues all of my OSTs and PS2 CD/DVDs together to create a large mirror; or C: Burn them all (and use my snowboard as an ironing board).
If I had ungrateful kids...A: Ruining my collection by damaging the CD/DVDs and LE cases; B: Selling them for half the price they're worth so they can buy Big Mutha Truckers; or C: Use the CD/DVDs as frisbees or burn them (or both at the same time).

Your avatar cool though, yeah, I'm lovin the retro look. Looks like some bearded (looks like a beard) guy handing out a parking ticket/ selling cocaine to the priest (I know he's from Faxanadu).
Funny that you mentioned PaRappa, because I was actually going to post & embed the awesome Anime OP in the Anime Opening/Ending Favorites topic.
Nah, If I'm reborn as a pixel I'll probably commit suicide on some poor guy handheld screen. Dead pixel right in the middle. XD

hmm honestly, when i was little i wanted to be a "vet" but in about 7th grade that changed ad now i wanna be a game designer, sicne gaming is a passion for me i would like to keep that passion alive.

My youngest dream was to be a tiger; I distinctly remember visualizing the complete transformation when my parents gave me wishing pennies to throw into the water fountains at the mall. I would have been a powerful beast.
When I was slightly older and played run-through-the-woods-with-sticks with the neighbourhood children, I found that I was especially skilled at sneaking about invisibly and doing things that they had no idea I was doing. I used to think it was training to be a SPY. I still tell people I would've made a good spy.

Anything as a creative directing. Mostly franchise based things. So comic books (penciling for those), cartoons, anime (technically not blah blah, I don't give a shit), manga (again technically not, but I'll use a pen name so stfu blah blah), VIDEOGAMES VIDEOGAMES VIDEOGAMES, books, movies, all that stuff. Mostly for the actual design and conceptualizing parts though.
And that has been... just about ever! Since I was in kindergarten to this very day.

Mine hasn't changed except that I'm actually closer to my dream than before, though I don't think I'll ever do it as a career. I've been doing narrator roles for a lot of videos my colleagues make lately(mostly for local use in schools), and *may* be in a future Anime.
I only recently found out there's 4 other Haags in the US who are professional voice actors >.> must be in our genes.
What did I actually become? a professor of linguistics and cognitive science.

Job, house, lifestyle, money; all that stuff was trivial when I thought of what I wanted to be when I grew up. I always told myself "if your happy, then its good". Simple I know, but hey whatever works right?

XD So since I already mentioned in that what my sane (halfway achievable) aims in life were in the last thread, I shall state my mad kiddy ambitions here. I wanted to be General Zia-ul-Haq.  Apparently I was so obsessed with the guy I ran around telling everybody I was him. (Why him?!) Its a bit embarrassing when I run into my grandfather's old friends now. :'D (Apparently I had a thing for military dictators from the day I was born) |
