I had 2 on the left side of my mouth. Of course, one in the top and another in the bottom. I took them off today. Since I took them rather early, it didn't hurt so much. ... but it's hurting now. =/ Ouch. What about you guys? Do you have these teeth? If so, did you take them off yet? Also God bless my dentist. He did a superb job.

I had my Wisdom teeth pulled without any anestheics or painkillers afterward and never experienced the level of pain people always talk about with wisdom teeth. Hurts abit for a week and then you get over it.

It depends how old you are when you took them off, how many of them do you have, their sizes, the size of your mouth and the dentist you go to. xD But same here, it wasn't even half as bad as I had heard it was, at least for me. Also MP83, the sooner you take them all off, the better. Also do you really need to take them off? There are cases people don't need to, or just have to take off a few of them. I also don't like too much to go to the dentist, but I have no trauma or whatever that some people have. Especially with that particular dentist, a very kind and smart person. He studied in the same university and college my parents did, and together with them on top of it all. It's very cool. It's weird. In my family: - My father has 4 wisdom teeth, but he didn't have to take them off; - My mother had none; - My eldest brother had 4 of them, and had to take off them all; - My other older brother had 4 of them and also had to take off them all; - I had 2 on the left side of my mouth and I had to take off them all; - My younger sister had none. Bizarre. xD

I've never heard of people not growing them. I was never in much pain either after having them taken out, it was just hard to eat for a little while. The two on the top grew out normally for me, but the two on the bottom were growing sideways and running into my other teeth.

Mine are gonzo, and I was happy to have them out. I got a week off work, and I was waited on hand n foot. Good times were had by me.

I have three. One, which is fully grown and totally there now, two which are only half out. I am.... 2 teeth's worth wise? X'D Never had to get them pulled out either. Maybe because my teeth are so messed up and totally out of order as it is, that the appearance of these three teeth of great sageness made not even a whit of a difference? :'D I've seen a lot (almost all?) of my friends though go through gigantic fits of pain though whenever their wisdom came out. Weird its never been like so with me. [My wisdom is so ancient that it has even gotten infected and earned itself a cavity-filling! :'D I get cavities pretty easily. Does anybody else have them too?]

xD! Well, it's good that you don't have to take them off, at least. I got my teeth off before they were "born", that is, much before any of them came out. Because of that, they were more flexible to be removed, and that's why it's recommended to take them off as soon as possible. My older brothers had their teeth be half out, and they really were hurting them. And the surgery was harder, because their teeth already had created strong roots. I have no doubt they would hurt me A LOT if I left them in my mouth.

I don't know why, but your story reminded me so much of when I had to get six cavities of mine treated and filled at the same time. And then afterwards I had to sit and eat lentil soup while playing Breath of Fire 4. ....Thanks to that, now I always associate that game with teeth and soup and dentists.

I have only 3 of them and it seems not one of them if fully grown or will be any time soon. I don't bother taking them out though since they're not causing me any discomfort so I'm not sure there's any reason to remove them. I guess you had them taken out as a preventative measure?

I had mine taken out as they were otherwise going to crowd my teeth together and reverse what my braces had originally corrected.
I screamed, but I wasn't in any pain due to the medication; it was funny.

It seems like you guys do it/want to do it for the fun of it. There is no reason to remove perfectly healthy wisdom teeth.

My lower ones were impacted, and my upper ones were erupted. They had to be taken out, anyway though, because they would've kept growing and caused some kind of problem or something like that. They got taken out a few weeks ago, and I had a lot of anxiety right before the surgery, but when I closed my eyes, it felt like a normal dental appointment. No, the part that sucked was the REST of the day, where I was almost constantly bleeding. It felt like I got blood all over my face, mainly because I did. Now there's just a couple of small holes on the lower ones. In a few days, I should be good as new!

Mine were impacted, and HAD to be removed, or else I wouldn't have done it. And yeah, I got 'em all out in one fell swoop. It was unpleasant, but not as horrible as the horror stories would lead you to believe. -Tom Same, as one of mine was growing in sideways.

I got 2 at the bottom row, one on each side. Didn't take them out. For a few years, they gave me some pain as they were growing. Now I don't feel a thing except they grew in such a way that there's a gap between them and the teeth in front of them.
Food keep on getting stuck in the gaps and I have to use toothpicks every time I eat.
At least they aren't impacted. It's a miracle that both grew upright straight.
