Hello, my name is Ryan, and I'm an Ysaholic. I tried to quit, but I just can't seem to do it. OH WELL.
I've been lurking for a LONG LONG time (over a year now) and I thought I'd register.
Let's see... about me... I am very into martial arts. I study west coast Tae Kwon Do, Muso Jikiden Eishin Ryu Iaido, and most recently I have been training in Mixed Martial Arts. I should be in the cage within the next 3 months provided I remain injury free.
I collect functional weaponry, monsty japanese swords, as I have trained in 2 styles of swordsmanship, but I do collect all kinds of swords. I love retro games, and especially anything with good music and a good story.
I love Working Designs and own every game they ever made.
I speak a limited Japanese as I am absolutely mad about japan. I look foreward to getting to know all of my fellow Esterians.

Nice to meet you. I'm the rollercoaster of the board. If you need someone with knowledge of Ys I-VI, Origin, Napishtim, Popful Mail (Super Famicom), Xanadu Next, Faxanadu, Romancia (I even wrote the only English FAQ for the NES version), Legend of Heroes I-III PSP USA, Gurumin, or even slices of Legacy of the Wizard, I'll be there to help... maybe. ;P

Nice to meet you Sanoichiro! Great hobbies you have there. You remind me of a friend of mine who practically lived to compete in martial arts tournaments, collect all sorts of weaponry and duplicate flipping moves and weaponry moves all too similar to the choreography of Darth Maul from the Star Wars Episode I.

But I don't do anything fancy. Eishin Ryu is a traditional japanese art that dates back to the 14th c. No spins or twirls. No "Amakakeruryunohirameki" if anyone gets that reference. I used to do high flyers for fun, but now it's just the basic solid mma (not that I'm any good mind you )

I concur. It's one of the craftiest, most challenging RPG-sidescroller hybrid I've ever popped into my SNES.

I bow to you sir. I love BJJ. Even though my background is in standup, the ground is where I work best. It really is all about the BJJ. I weigh 140 now, and I will be fighting at 135, so naturally I spend a lot of time on my back durring training. Submissions have to be a part of the game. How does your school feel about MMA. I know a lot of dojo that frown upon it, and from a traditional martial arts stand point I can understand. In the same token, the sport is built on traditional martial arts, and the sportsmanship really shows that. Anyway, I'll be sure to ask you for advice when I need it. I'm sure as a black belt you have a treasure trove of wisdom and knowlege.
P.S. the kimura sweep is the slickest move I've ever seen.

I bow to you too :-) We're not a lot in MMA even if we like it very much. But it's difficult to do it in France.... We have enought work to do just with JJ. Good luck for you fights. And I'd be pleased to help you if you need advices ;-)
PS: The kimura sweep is really effective even in mma, wich is good for you!
