Hey ya'all! Just thought I'd drop in and say hello in this section, being as I just joined last week, I think it was

I've been interested in the Ys series since I saw the old ads for Ys on the US Turbo Grafx! Since then I played both Ys III on the SNES and SFC (couldn't find much difference, save the language changes), a bit of Ys I on the Duo, Ys6 on the PS2, and just finished YsF the other night!

I had been estranged from the series for so long and then I started seeing PS2 releases. I'm a console fan, for the simplicity of just popping in a game and playing vs all the headaches that can arise trying to get your darn PC to cooperate with you, heh. But in light of discovering some awesome games that don't have console releases, like YsF, YsO, YsC, and Xanadu Next, I was motivated to take the plunge into PC gaming

Since that breaking point, I recently picked up all of the above titles from Yahoo Japan Auctions and I think YsC is next on my list to play, as I'm kinda holding out on YsO and Xanadu Next until we are blessed w/ English translations!

Anyways, thanks to all for establishing a great community here!

Kinda funny, I too have been recently active on some of the Yahoo Japan auctions for a few Falcom titles. I wonder if I got into a bid war with you at all. : )

HUcards/Turbochips are, CDs aren't I can PM you a detailed explanation if you'd like.

What's a turbochip? I've got a few HUcards and many PCE Super CD-Rom^2 discs, but I've never heard of a turbochip before.

The nice thing about PCE discs are that they can be played in a PC Magic Engine and Hugo emulator and on a modified Xbox system with a Mednafen X PC-Engine emulator. I don't own an actual PC-Engine or DUO CD, but thanks to my mod box, I can play the discs as though they were on actual hardware. Of course, it isn't real hardware, but it is still quite a nice function given that you can take screenshots and use save states.

Speaking of PCE, I just recently ordered Legend of Xanadu I & II and I'm really looking forward to playing them. : )
