Lets list/recommend music similar to that made by Falcom!
I will start with something with the traditional synth flavour!
Rush - Signals
Seriously, while most of you should've better've heard this, it really is just like Ys, but with AMAZING VOCALS
Geddy is a god.

You just jumped like 10000 on the cool points scale dude. Rush rules, and they are even better live!! I saw them in 2006, and I was just floored with how great they performed. Signals is a great album, but check out moving pictures as well.

When I showed an Ys music to a friend who was unfamiliar with the series, he asked me, after yelling: "Wow, awesome! Is that Mega Man music?".
So, yeah. xD

Thanks Tom ! I listened to these three songs like 15 years ago and they were my favorite from the OAV (especially Konya wa Hurricane and Kodoku no Angel in fact). I'll try to find the last one So again, thanks for bringing back old memories ! Edit: Cool ! They have live versions on YT !! KwH Live

I was listening to the music of Ys6 and I could have sworn I heard this style before.
It reminded me VERY much of Junya Nakano's style. He did the music for Dewprism (Threads of Fate, NTSC version) an co-wrote the music for Final Fantasy X with Nobuo Uematsu and Masashi Hamauzu.

Sengoku Rance's music reminds me of more recent Ys tracks. Some being perfectly capable of being in a Ys game

Wyrd: NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Nakano's awesome - and even if he isn't, FFX OST is one of Square's BEST! His *few* contributions on Gun Hazard OST were like totally inspiring to me. If I ever compose, it'll probably be similar to his style. Guess you just don't appreciate his awesome sense of rhythm!
Cronorei: Wow - excellent!

So then the solution is simple. Play Threads of Fate, mute the volume and plays Ys 6 OST instead. Problem solved.

Dunno how much that sounds like Falcom, but it DOES sound AWESOME. Never heard of that band before (to my knowledge), but they're pretty damn good! EDIT: Ah, the second video you posted sounds much more Falcom-esque than the first. Still a bit heavier than most Falcom tracks, but the synthy opening especially really does have a Falcom-like sound to it. -Tom Yes the fisrt song i posted was selected too randomly without relistening the song XD. I'm sure that there are others songs much more siimilar to JDK compositions, maybe I'll post something later

Ahh, Dragonland. An old standby when I'm in a power mood (which is never these days). My favorite album is still Astronomy, but Starfall is also excellent.
... dunno if they sound much at all like Falcom JDK, though.
