Hi everyone, I just wanted to ask a question about the contents of the first Legend of Xanadu PC-Engine set. Mine just arrived in the mail today and it seems that it is missing a disc. In the attached picture, I have the case, manual, poster insert and the red labeled game LoX game disc. However, that additional cd on the top-right with the purple label is missing entirely. Unfortunately, its my fault for buying an incomplete set without first investigating everything that was originally supposed to be in there, but out of curiosity, could anyone please tell me what that disc is that I'm missing? Is it something important or just a demo disc of some kind... I'm just hoping that I can finish the game at least without it. Thanks for your time, -Thomas

Hey, I don't know what the other disc is. Mine didn't come with it, and I don't think it's a Legend of Xanadu related disc. Whatever it is, the disc with the red on it is the game disc, and no other disc is required to play and finish the game. I can assure you of that. Enjoy!

Thanks for explaining everyone. I thought I had been sold an incomplete set or something. That's a relief to know that I'm not missing something important. Ah, so it is LoX 2. I ordered that one on the side as well, so I guess there are no complications then. I guess that auction on ebay was just for LoX 1 with Case and Manual and the LoX 2 game disc. Kinda of a nice deal for those who are just looking to own the discs I suppose. : )
Thanks again for explaining! I'm looking forward to playing it and I found your page about it Game Music Freak, so I'm definitely planning on using it.

Dood. That purple disc is LoX 2. That *definitely* doesn't come with LoX1. LoX1 comes in a double case just "because", kinda like those PS1 games that did the same. I thought about that being LoX II, but my LoX II disc looked a little different: Maybe different colored discs were made, or it's a faded disc, or the lighting in the picture.

Hmm, I took the disc and blew it up in Photoshop using best for enlargement and took it into a Photoshop plugin called Genuine Fractals, which is used for enlarging while keeping as much detail as possible, and this is about as close as I can get to making the disc look readable. I can make out PC-Engine on the top and then something that looks like: ハイハーカスローク or Haihaakasurooku. But I don't see a roman numeral II in there, nor the familiar English script-like font for Legend of Xanadu II, so I'm guessing that it isn't the disc for LoX II. Any ideas now that there is a bigger picture? -Thomas

But still, you aren't missing a THING for you LOX set. I've had several copies, even new ones. That's good to know at least! : ) And thanks for checking on seeing if you can identify the disc. Even if it wasn't part of the original set, the person hosting the auction seems to think so, so it still perks my curiosity. -Thomas

It seems to say "PC Engine Hyper Catalogue" from what I can see.

HYPER CATALOGUE!!?!?!
Whoa! I wonder what was on that disc now. Anything that has the word "Hyper" in it has got to be awesome. : 0
Thanks Kimimi for figuring that one out. I'm glad that is just some kind of extra disc and not something absolu-tutely amazing... but then again, something like that could still be... well...
you know...
HYPER!!

I think I have a couple of the Hyper catalogue's around here somewhere, you're not missing anything, it's just a disc with a bunch of demo's on it IIRC.

It's going slowly. We still have some looses ends to finish up with Mysterious Song, we're supposed to have it ready for beta testing at the end of March. Despite all the setbacks we've had, we're all still determined to finish continue with our projects, even though things are going so slowly, will SHALL prevail!
