I figured I should post something to you guys, I mean I've spent over 4 years here. As you all know Kimimi's account has been deleted, and of her own merit.
What can I say, this place has changed. In some points of view, for the worse, and in others, for the better. There are some major realizations that I have come to lately, and I think they should be voiced.
To start, I have also decided to leave ALoY, and I have many reasons. Firstly, this board just doesn't "fit" with me anymore. I am a fan of all sorts of games and genres, and I am not a big Falcom fan. I love Ys to death, its one of my favorite series, and I like Falcom, but I don't think they are the bees knees of Gaming Development. This of course is my opinion, and its also something that doesn't jive with this boards template. I am an objective kind of guy, I know how to look at both sides of a situation, and I can see the merit from each voice. I am not open minded to rampant fanboyism, which in some cases, is the class rule here. Its not wrong, as this is an Ys board after all, but I just don't agree with it. Please, to those of you who love Falcom, don't take this as insult, or as a put down. I think it's great to love something that much, I just don't personally agree with it. I love all sorts of developers, and I am quick to note their faults. I can't have a conversation putting down one gaming company, and then ignoring the same faults in another because I am a "Fan".
Second, I think there is a major issue here with expressing ones view, and to what degree its expressed. I don't think its fair that some users have their posts deleted, while others are allowed to have free range with their words. I don't think its fair to have grammar corrections posted completely out of context, and for all public users to see. I think that there are quite a few posts here that should have been kept to a PM. Its a respect thing, which I am guilty of not having at times (Maggot, I hope you can still forgive me). I have had my opinions relevance questioned because I am Canadian, I have seen people pull the "Well my education comes from this shitty school, so I'm fucking right", and the "Woot Japan is so much better because its Japan", kind of crap. It's not cool, and its immature, and once more, were better than that as a community. I mean come on, is there really a point to squabbling over such menial issues such as ones Educational History? I have gotten in many arguments, many which have ended amicably, and I have learned much from my conversations here, but I am just so frustrated with things here, that I can't carry on a simple conversation without being bitter.
Third, I am getting older, and I am finding myself with less and less time. I have so many damn games to play, and I am currently jumping between 2 boards constantly. I have a fiancee that I neglect, and a business that is demanding more of my time. I can't invest time here like I used to. Unfortunately, I had to make a choice between keeping some things in my life, and taking others away. This place obviously fell to the ladder choice.
What can I say, I have changed, and so has this place. We don't fit together anymore, and I don't feel like my place is in ALoY. I have some great memories here, and I have met some crazy game fans during my time on this board. It pains me to know this place isn't a part of my daily routine any longer, but enough is enough. I can't speak directly for Kimimi, but I can say we both have a very similar outlook to the current state of this place. I am not pointing any fingers, nor am I placing any blame. There is no fault here, only change. Please, for future members, lets try and be a little more open minded to each other, and lets think about what we say, and how it looks once is posted. Lets keep the serious stuff to PM, and maybe after time, this place will be like it used to be, Fun. For the benefit of keeping things mature, and to avoid any further conflict, I bid farewell to you all. Thanks for the good times, and keep playing games!

This is just... sad. I really liked reading you guys' comments and opinions on everything.
As a word of advice for future forum use, you've gotta learn what to ignore and what to take seriously. I've been an active (adicted?) member of another gaming board for almost 10 years now and it has certainly changed alot. You just gotta realize that new people will come that you don't like, and old people will go that you do like, but at the end if the day, there's surely still some folks you will enjoy interacting with and that, in my opinion, is worth keeping the door open for.
