Well, I know I'm being very hotheaded and reckless right now, but I'm going to have to say goodbye for a while.
Falcom has just dropped the bomb by announcing Ys Seven and Ys Chronicles for the PSP.
For a purely PC gamer and Ys fan like me, that's like the worst thing that can happen in one's lifetime.
I know how Falcom has its roots in console and I respect that, but after playing several awesome Ys games on the PC, I had high hopes for a PC version of Ys 7. Now those hopes are smashed to bits and pieces and I don't even know if I can recover from it.
The reason why I came to this forum is exactly because of Ys 6 and LoH 6. Now I'm going into a hiatus because of Ys 7.
Call me childish and foolish, but I'm just too hurt by the company I support.
I will come back here in the future (once I've cooled down) to chat random stuff... maybe... or not... after all, this is a cool forum. But if Falcom decides to go PSP with LoH7 in the future, I'm gonna have to pack up and leave since my reason to be here will no longer exist.
But hey, just treat this as a rant. You guys carry on and have a swell time here. AloY will always be the awesome forum that I know.
Well I'm hoping for a turn of events in Falcom regarding Ys 7 but I'm thinking that's highly unlikely.
So anyway, good luck and cheers.

I don't usually reply to leaving threads because generally the people who're leaving don't actually read them, but... But if Falcom decides to go PSP with LoH7 in the future, I'm gonna have to pack up and leave since my reason to be here will no longer exist. I'm sorry, but that's pretty much an inevitability right now. If anything, I think startlingly strong sales for the PSP Sora no Kiseki versions were one of the deciding factors in this move, and considering the two seem to be using the same engine a lot lately, I'd be really surprised if 7 wasn't a PSP title. I'll play it anyway, of course. I'm not even going to pretend I can manage without knowing what happens next in the story

I have a PSP. I do not think simply buying one will solve your problems.

I would think one's reasons for hanging around here would be chillin' with the peeps. What with Ys discussion being kinda sporadic in comparison to non-Ys stuffs.

I think Falcom WILL lose a few fans due to this move but I'm cautiously optimistic~! Like I said in the actual Ys Seven thread, the only thing I'd really be missing is the full-screen mode on my computer monitor will all the crazy video-related bells and whistles at max. Er, assuming the system would be able to take it.
....
I pray that Falcom will NOT make a limited edition PSP for Ys Seven because that would mean that I will have 3 PSPs. :P

How much would you sell it for I wonder. I would be in the market for one eventually, but if I did buy a used one, I'd prefer to purchase it from someone I know rather than a place like ebay.

My PSP has a broken start and select button. So i can't really access the menu in a lot of RPGs.

Well, if you ever feel like purchasing a new PSP that is a limited edition or something and would like to sell your slim one (Is that the one that outputs to TV btw?) I might consider buying it off ya, especially if it is the one that outputs to TV, that way I can take screenshots from it when needed through a video capture device. : )
I was considering getting a PSP-3000, but they are still quite expensive.

Seconded, because our dear Captain stated it about as good as I could have. Ah well-- it's a shame to see people so up in arms over this Ys 7 thing, but whatever suits 'em, I guess. Best wishes either way, musa!

Yes, but the 2000 series is only compatible with HD TVs, while the 3000 series boasts both SD and HD compatibility.

That sucks big floppy donkey doink. ): I was looking forward to upgrading from my fat model for that alone. That's okay though, I still love my fat model like I love a BBW.

Hey, no problem. I'm glad to know it too, because I'd be shitting bricks if I got a new PSP only to find out it doesn't work on my TV. XD

I've resisted in putting CFW on the slim because I know I'll just download all my PSP games otherwise. :P
