I just spotted something odd in the Buying Soon/Currently on Order in the Games forum! Some folks were talking about things that give them the willies. :O!!
So, let's share some things that creep us out!
One of mine would be maggots. Once, we had some peanuts that were ..... not very fresh. They were in a opaque plastic container and when I opened it, I saw this small grubby thing crawling over a peanut shell.
I literally screamed and ran out of the room. My brother and mom were pretty much going "WTF?" at that point. :P

Cockroaches! I cannot those horrendously horridly disgusting creatures. I just.... can't. To the point that even a picture or a drawing of one disgusts me. And when they pop up in games, in full enlarged glory. (Chrono Cross! Ew. EW!) And then, one fine day, my fate caught up to me. A year or so back, I was having a show in Karachi and had to go over there. And ended up staying with this really sweet old relative of mine. She was this really nice old lady who loved all sorts of animals, birds, creatures, EVERYTHING! Which was fine and lovely (infact, delightful!), until I switched off the lights and went to bed. After feeling something(s) crawling up me leg, I reached for the lamp that the room was crawling with hundreds... nay, THOUSANDS of cockroaches! AAAAaaghH! DX *dies* Er... bugs aside, if I was to think of something equivalent to the Smithee-fear-of-Chulip, then.... that creepy lady from the Ring? I don't remember her name and I don't even want to! .....I get so so so creeped out whenever I see her, in any form, anything! D:

Eew, bugs. Especially maggots and cockroaches, those are the worst ones...
I really REALLY hate bees and wasps and the like. I've never been stung, but I panic! And fungus, anytime I'm around it I feel like it is in my throat. And half-cooked food, like when you think you've cooked it fully but you didn't... Ugh, I can't stand that, I vomit.

Let us define what it means to be unnerved, first. How do we distinguish it from the fight or flight reaction of fear, for instance?

Cockroaches? Aii aii aii aii aii~! Even reading about such things gives me the heebie-jeebies. I've lived a very sheltered life, and the climate where we live is such that you don't really get many bugs. Just a few little beetles, moths, and spiders, which are cute as much as anything~ So anything semi-big that's twitchy and scuttly frightens me terribly. I think scorpions are the worst~! I used to always wonder when I was very young what Mother Nature was thinking when she created them. Pincers, armour, fast feet, and a stinger? No fair~! Of course they don't live in our climate, and I've never even seen one in the flesh. Still, I think that really just makes it worse. I've demonised them and built them up so much that even viewing pictures is too much for me now~ I think I'd get a bit hysterical if I were ever to see a real one. ^_^; In terms of horror movies, umm... I get startled very easily by any loud noise, to the point where my brothers used to make cruel sport of trying to startle me when we were kids. ^_^; But very little scares me in the long term, and I can't recall the last horror movie that did more than make me jump. I guess...while it might be a little bit odd, what unsettles me the most is anything that causes a sudden negative shift in a person's character. I always got so upset in books or movies when two former friends were pitted against each other, or when one character betrayed another. I always wanted to give up on the story when it happened... Drug addictions, too, are a no-no, especially when they're severe enough that they cause a character to harm their loved ones (There's a famous Scottish film, Trainspotting, about heroin addicts. And there's one scene where the characters are so absorbed in their habit that they ignore the cries of their neglected baby, which eventually dies in its crib. So, so horrible... ). I guess even zombie / werewolf / vampire movies frighten me, provided they have good characters? But less for the schlocky monsters and more for the thought of having to kill or fight against one's own loved ones. I don't know. I guess maybe it's a silly thing to be afraid of? ^_^; But while I don't show myself to people very easily, I open myself almost completely to them when I do. Sooo...depictions of violations of trust have always upset me more than any monster, ghost, or boogey-man.

D: Poor Yakra. Did you have RAID, or perhaps some old newspapers? ...or were you obligated to let them scuttle? D:

Wow, Yakra, that reminded me of a tree filled with 25+ golden orb-weaver spiders that I saw a month ago.

Golden orb-weaver spiders? Gah, I hate spiders, but I haven't seen any lately that particularly bug me. I remember being freaked out once (when I was 12) by a daddy long-legs -- he was wall-hopping, right by the doorway. As soon as I walk in, I turn my face to the left and notice that he had started hopping my way. >.<"

I dont like the deeps of the oceans, even though I will probably never go that deep in any form of "liquid", just thinking about the depths of the oceans unnerves me so much a shiver.... so I just pick up Brandish and start playing to forget ^_^

D: Poor Yakra. Did you have RAID, or perhaps some old newspapers? ...or were you obligated to let them scuttle? D: // Past tense, not present. Is RAID like Baygon? That is... insect spray? If so, yes. I basically threw my boots and Harry Potter at them, and ran out screaming. At which me relative gently handed me a can of the insect spray, with directions to 'just spray softly, a bit away from the roaches, so that the little dears would get the message and scuttle away'. Much to the devastation of her, I went on an entire extermination rampage, as she discovered the next morning. ('Oh the darling little lives~! T__T ')

You KILLED them all, thats a lot of hate there. Did you also know that they recently discovered a "monster" roach coming in at a whooping 10cm (thats 4 inches of roachness) length. It actually looks scary news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/asia-pacific/4121637.stmPS. For some reason the pic I uploaded didnt work, so click the link at you own risk

I hate bugs. No wait, I'm extremely unnerved by them. Especially cockroaches.
Ugh. Now that's something that shakes me to the core. I usually steer clear away from one and once I walk pass it, I turn around a few times to make sure it's not following me. Thankfully most of the ones I meet are the crawling ones. There are a few times I met the flying ones, and those scared the bejeezus out of me. When the damn bugs start flying around, I scramble for cover, ducking frantically while waving my hands. If they're in a room, I'd dash out and slam the door. Then my parents would go in armed with newspapers and spray to kill the damn bugger.
The only time that I had enough bravery to kill cockroaches was during the time with my ex-girlfriend. She's more scared of them than me and would scream and jump at the sight of one. So being the 'man', I had no choice but to arm myself with newspapers and spray to kill them. Thankfully, none of those were the flying ones or both of us would have freaked out.

For some reason, bees and dragonflies bother me. I know dragonflies don't attack humans, but still....*shivers*
