Windows XP (I feel like trying Windows 98 though, but of course with either XP's or Vista's look. )

XP, planning on switching to Windows 7 when it's out. Skipping Vista entirely.

I've been a Mac guy since before OS X, and I really love 10.5 for everything I do. That said, I ran Windows Vista exclusively on my MacBook Pro for the better part of a year, and I really did like it better than XP!
My next laptop may be a PC if I like Windows 7. As much as I like Apple's OS and hardware in general, they've been making a lot of decisions that bug me these days. I think I might like something different from what they're offering.

What? No 3.1, 95, NT, ME, or 2K?? XD
Oh man, I loved the Win7 beta so I'll definitely be the horrible PC user and shell out moneys to buy it when the evil corporation puts it onto the market.

How good is it, compared to Windows Vista, in your opinion? It *is* Vista, it's really just a re-branding and not a new release, it has some new features but is the same OS that everyone hated but suddenly love for unexplainable reasons when they call it "Windows 7"...

I'm the lowly Vista owner, I guess. My compy got all virusy back in february, so I borrowed my techie friend to salvage data and wipe my HD (I really need to get an external/slave drive for my data >_>) and I needed him for a OS disc. He lost his XP disc, though, which is the only thing I have a legal CD key for ... soooooooooooooo he gave me his Vista. Derp! Edit: for what it's worth my only two gripes about it are really minor. I have issues working with right-click drop-down menus properly sometimes and the fact that... I like having all my folders in list view, but unlike in XP, clicking o nthe "empty space next to a folder doesn't deselect it but, rather, counts the empty space next to the folder name as the folder, so ther e*is* no empty space to click. Annnnnnd... that's really hard to adjust to for me. And I guess I had to buy an extra gb of RAM just to keep my machine from crashing all the time, but I needed more than 1 gb anyways, I think. My XP crashed sometimes, too, and I haven't had a crash since. BUT ALL IN ALL, I like it enough and don't understand the hate.

Well! My love comes from the fact that I've never used Vista before and the Windows 7 beta was so spiffy~~~~ XD Aw, we can't vote twice? I mean, I use 2 OSs at home. :B

Using Windows 7 Beta Build 7068. Next will be Windows 7 RC.
I never liked Windows XP ever since it came out. Stuck to it only because I need to play games. Vista was better except for its bad publicity due to reasons I can never agree with.
But Win 7 was a huge relief for me because it's simply better than XP and Vista combined. Win 7 taskbar is so much user friendly for me, application windows in win 7 make more sense, and it even booted up a few seconds faster than my XP install. Not to mention users can now uninstall MS crap like IE and win media player.
So I'm sticking to that.

Voted XP, since that's the one installed on the PC I be currently using (or rather, the PC I have been using for the past 3 years~!). But my old one still stands there. Waiting. With the old 98 still installed. In its full 2 GB glory. For the day I shall start it up once more~!
...........I can't believe I managed to do everything on only 2 GB's worth of space. >__<
But, by the way, this poll made me think of one particular thing that I've often wondered about. Suppose if I upgrade one day, or perhaps buy that laptop I've been wanting for so long - meaning it'll probably come equipped with Vista or 7. Would I be able to make my copy of Ys I and II Complete run on either of those OS(es)? No, right? *the stupid question*

Right now I'm running Windows Vista Business 64bit. I swore I'd never switch from XP until Vista's succesor (Windows 7 as it is now known) was released, but I got sick of wasting my processor's power and sacrificing almost 1 GB of RAM by running a 32bit OS, so i took the plunge. (Also, I wanted to try some of my newer PC games in DirectX 10 which isn't available on XP.)
I had considered Windows XP 64bit edition, but I heard that its driver support was severely lacking and there were compatibility issues with certain games/programs so I went with the more "supported" 64bit OS. For the most part it's actually been fairly good to me, though ClearType gives me horrible eyestrain and Microsoft doesn't allow you to disable of it completely. I managed to cripple it for the most part though (even went so far as replacing the default shell font back to XP's Tahoma) though it's still present on some menus, system windows and message boxes. I can't live without crisp, pixellated text.
My Falcom games have actually been working fine on Vista so far, but I've only played Ys I & II Complete and the Oath in Felghana since the "upgrade" though (and I have the more recent releases of both that are labelled "Vista Compatible".)

Wait, what? I'm the only one with a Linux OS vote!? I actually run Vista, Ubuntu, and XP, but I like Ubuntu the best. I switch for games and programs that won't run on Ubuntu, though.
