Recently tried playing Arcturus - The Curse and Loss of Divinity but the entire game is written in Hangul (Korean). When did Falcom start producing Hangul games?

This is ArCturus, not Acturus. The original korean version is by Gravity (Ragnarok Online) and Sonnori. Here is a picture of the box of the japanese version, by Nihon Falcom :

I spelled the name wrongly previously. The packing of the game is exactly the same as the one in the pic above. Bought it directly from Falcom's online store. Don't understand why I got the Hangul version and not the Japanese version? Same packaging but different versions. Here are the screenshots of my game:

IIRC Arcturus is not technically a Falcom game - it was originally Korean, and Falcom just localized it for the Japanese market.

??? From what I can see, it's not even available for purchase from Falcom anymore. o_O (ファルコム通販分は完売しました。 お求めはお近くの取扱店にてお願い致します。 <-- on the official page and the shop page doesn't have the cart either. Dur, thanks for messing up the text, Proboards.) If you really did get it from Falcom, maybe they sent you the original because they had no more of the Japanese-translated one? XD

I bought the game long before falcom stop selling.
Only recently I got it out from my storeroom.
I never said I bought it recently.
Don't understand why I got the Hangul version.
Maybe the language setting is wrong and that's why the game is in Hangul.
Can someone help me with this?

Then maybe you should have said you bought it a few years ago then! >:O
Anyway, as far as I remember, there is no language option in the game; it's only Japanese. Maybe someone at the Falcom production line thought it would be epic LULZ and snuck in the original into the Japanese packaging?
I'm not sure anyone can help because I don't think anyone else experienced the same problem before. :|
.....
Now I'm getting the itch to sell my copy but I wanna keep the soundtrack. ^^;;;;;;;;

I should check this game out sometime. Is it actually, like... good? 'Cause I've never played a GOOD Korean RPG before. And this one actually kinda LOOKS good... so if it is, it might be a nice change of pace. (: Hey man, aren't we supposed to be objective about this sort of stuff? I can't tell you if it's good because good to me is not good to you! (Re: Shadow Hearts series!!!!!!!!!!) I liked it but mainly for the Grandia-like battle system. I only had about a 10% understanding of the story so I can't tell you how the plot is. XD And I can't remember much else so I can't even give you the lo-down on my pros and cons of the thing. Actually, one thing I DO remember is needing to buy little gems or whatever for spell casting. Each time you performed a spell or wanted to create new spells, you had to use a set number of them. I didn't realize this until almost half-way through the game. :P (Hooray for being illterate and not paying attention to the manual!) I had to reload and replay about 2 hours of it just to be able to get enough money to stock up on the crap before committing to the same dungeon where I discovered I wasn't able to perform certain spells since I didn't have enough corresponding gem thingies. I think this was at a point where you couldn't return to any towns or something crazy like that too. Oh yeah, that was another thing about Arcturus -- some places become inaccessible later on in the game so I guess it'd be a good thing to top up on everything and get the best of every armor and weapon each time you get to a new city or town. ^^; Hum~ There was (maybe still is?) a fan-translation of the original Korean version a while back. Dunno how far that got though. And how many Korean RPGs have you played? DDD:

Hm, well, I heard some good things about this game once, and that it's quite dramatic too.
Sounds good, but I'm not very interested in any korean game (so far), aside Ys II Special. xD

I have play it, still trying to get an actual copy of the game (Not a bootleg). Anyways you get to play as two character side Sizz and Eluard, eventally they join up and then the characters from each scenario splits up. Only to rejoin again for the later chapters. From what I remember, I think the plot is about stopping some crazy religious cult. There's also a lot of back story for each character. I also wrote a guide in a forum. Never finish it though. Maybe some day in the future when my japanese gets better. forums.mirrormoon.org/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=46

Not many, admittedly... but enough to get a stereotype down. ;) Stereotypes are bad! >:O It's like saying everyone from the southern US are inbred hillbillies! >:O

I know of at least one Korean game I have played that was EXCELLENT. DJ Max Portable: Clazziquai EditionHow I love it. It's perfect. Extremely high production values to boot. GO KOREA! *I grew up with Korean friends, so I am biased. Also, they have amazing food. That's not an RPG. :P wyrd was, for the most part, talking about Korean role-playing games. But yes, DMP CE is sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet.

I *hate* the art style in that game. (: And the battle system is like Shadow Hearts for me, but worse. (: FINALLY! ^^ For once on the Internet, someone DOES NOT LIKE HTK ARTWORK! I loved his War of Genesis III Part 2 stuff but once you really start looking at the way he draws anatomy, you start having second thoughts ... As for Magna Carta PS2, at least you don't have to do any button timing to buy things. :P But yes, the battle system was pretty ugh. <-- no other way to describe it.
