Well, lately I have been having extreme bad luck with Vantage Master games, it seems. Anyway, while I was installing Vantage Master Japan yesterday, I had this error message presented to me. It always appears when the installation gets to that DATA20.DAT file. I have a question, and perhaps even a request... The question is: why am I having this problem? Or rather, how do I solve it? Even though I'm the one asking, I think I know a way to bypass this problem, and therefore the request: could anyone from this board who has VM Japan installed, uhm, upload this very DATA20.DAT file? My hypothesis is: that file can't be installed possibly because of disc scratch. I have had a similar problem with Ys ORIGIN, and apparently it really was related to disc scratch. Anyway, I think that if someone uploaded me that file, the problem will be solved, because the installer skips files that are already installed or simply put in the game folder. Well, in any case, I thank in advance for any help provided.

Is this the game you said has an install disc and a game disc?
Switch from the install disc to the game disc there. That's what it's telling you to do, I presume the remaining files are on the game disc.

I have the same problems when I install my CD-version of Ys VI which also has a install disc and a game disc. As Varion said, start with the install disc and switch when it asks to the Game Disc.
The problem I've had that messes this up is failing to wait for the cd-rom to initialize that there is a new disc in there, so give it a few seconds for your cd-rom drive to read the disc, then hit okay to continue.

Uh, I feel stupid. XD Game's now installed. However, another problem still persists. The .exe file won't run, which is just what happened here, when I tried to run Vantage Master Online. What's up with this VM lack of luck? <.< Anyway, that's another problem entirely, not related to the game's installation. Thank you for helping me out with it.
