Anyone knows the difference between this 2 VM Japan? One of them is a free gift when I bought the VM Japan during the falcom fair last time.

There are no more maps, the power-up kit has different maps (and game modes too). You want to play the original game to its full extent first, then play the power-up kit. If you want to play against a friend, it's of course better to play the puk for the additional natials and characters and for the slightly better maps. There are two hidden characters in the puk too.

The PUK also unlocks pretty much everything from the start, like practically all of the characters and the mini-games.
How exactly do you unlock the two additional characters?

Just beat the game without cancelling any move in tournament mode (even in beginner mode). You'll have a new fight after the finals, and another one if you beat this fight. Merlet and Masakado will then be available in free mode and network mode Also, if you play in network mode versus a friend who doesn't have access to them, you can choose them for him and he'll be able to play with them (but just in network mode)

Lilia and Dark Fact are the main reasons behind me purchasing this game. =)

There are also five extra pieces of music, which you can access quite easily. No idea what they're used for ingame but since it's VM Japan (or rather, Falcom) it's all awesome but there's one bonus track that's just absolute brilliance. Man I love Falcom Sound Team jdk!

Best Falcom game ever !! I've played countless hours on it (and I still do) since it's out.

It's becoming increasingly difficult to ignore the mounting praise everyone here gives this game...
My stupid wallet needs to grow more money. >_>

As far as playing itself goes, I currently favor VMO/v2 =/ The language barrier totally prevents me from enjoying this as much as I do with the aforementioned VM game. (And at least for now, I kind of liked the 2D graphics more...)
