So what is the problem here?
There's something going around that's dragging us all down these days; something that's making us more confrontational than usual. Understandably, if something doesn't jive with us, we're going to speak out about it. But is it the way we're writing our opinions and pointing things out that's giving off the negative air?
Why is it that the place used to be fun but doesn't really feel that way now? (Is it because we're, *gasp!*, growing up? I think we're still all young at heart though! :3) There was some ponder that real life going-ons play a part in what's being seen around here but is that all?
I think we should discuss this before more people start bowing out!! I'm sure we can keep things civilized! :D

Er... I hope I haven't offended anyone lately! D': I'm really sorry if I have made anybody mad, since I've been... in such a woonked off state that I'm not even paying attention much to my words! But anyways, speaking of being in rotten moods and not being in the mood to post - I guess the reason why I've been posting lesser and lesser these days is simply because I've been too busy? :'D I feel like I'm just signing in these days to make a random comment and then try to convince nunuu to sell me her whole house and at the same time convince Unsavory to ship that whole house to me. (After 15th though, shall be freeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee~! or comparatively free. :'D) Erm.... perhaps everyone's been cranky lately because of the weather (summer! DX hayfever!! DDDX) and... actual life stuffs? Has anyone else spent too much money lately too? :'D Or perhaps everyone's just feeling edgy because... everyone's taking things too seriously? ...Or something like so. (Ho! I just discovered the true cause of the crankiness! Deep down, everyone's souls are crying out in anguish at Ys 7 being released on the PSP! And so the hidden angst surfaces and takes form in the shape of multitudes of demons!)

Well, see, that's the thing -- the effects weren't felt here before so something's changed. Of course, as members come and go, change does happen. And while it's unrealistic to think that things can remain static and that we can be forever in happyland, there's also the point that things *do not* have to go or be a certain way.
Is it possible that we're getting too comfortable with each other that we feel that it's easier to be more, I dunno, candid with our emotions and opinions?

I know I haven't really been by much recently, and haven't played a part in the bigger bust ups of late. Buuut I still feel a little guilty, as I've been kinda snippy in my own little way a lot of the times that I have posted. So I'm sorry if I've bugged (or if I bug?) anybody. Please just tell me, and I'll do my best to stop~! I don't want to be a nuisance.
Anyway, I'd be lying if I said I haven't felt a bit more hostility here than usual when I've popped my head in over the last little while. And I can't say I've not been just a little bit freaked out by some of the more heated topics. ^_^; But even the way it is now, this place is still a hundred times more mellow than most communities I've come across online. Usually they're so high strung that I'm kinda scared to even sign up and post~ Actually, I think it says a lot in itself that a topic like this exists to begin with, and that people here are actually concerned about something like this. So I think it's important that no one is...well...too hard on themselves? Yes there's been a bit of bad blood recently, but you're all a pretty good sort, as far as I can see. ^_^;

... ? Did I miss something? Again? I didn't notice any change in this board on that matter, as of recently... If anything changed, it is only one thing: recently this place has become quieter. xD Less active, but that's normal, and will only last until the release of Ys I & II Chronicles and especially Ys SEVEN. Seriously, this thread is all good and all, but... why? =o Everything seems fine to me. I'm puzzled. <.< I MISSED something, didn't I? EDIT: Oh, Unsavory posted at the same time... So, I DID miss something. XD Ah, well, then... dunno what to say. >.> *is catching up with the occurrences*

The dot eater and koa are the cause. Of it all. Seriously, the Star Trek thread and the Last Game Finished thread... Why that kind of stuff only happen EXACTLY in the ONLY threads I don't check/ haven't been checking? xD If that keeps going on, MP and I will dominate this board.

Nothing unusual is happening. Just a couple of normal Wyrdy arguments in the wake of lindaluv revealing herself to be a terrible person. Folks are just getting jumpy after one of our few real flamewars. And yeah, there are job tensions and stuff too.
We just need to chillax and realize that argument != hate and bile most of the time. Shit, Wyrdy and I are always at each others' throat, and we're homies.
Edit: Although Dr Rockso's joining with the forum is what started this whole mess.

SEND RED TO THE RESCUE! ^o^~ Oh, and I blame The Captain for my itchiness to snap at folks that tread on my pet peeves. *nod nod*

Yakra and Fai, you two are absolute model board members, so don't go beating yourselves up... you're the LAST two people who would ever bring ANYONE down. Quoted for The Truth.™

I still think you guys are cool and awesome. My only beef is with Falcom and their PSP obsession. I want my PC games.

The only real problem is that there are only about 10-15 regular members here, so things are slow. But I like posting here because the regular are intelligent, and friendly. I just read the Star Trek thread, and I didn't see a flame war, I saw an intelligent debate. Good job by both sides. Other than here I also post regularly at gamefaqs, and there is pretty become cool to troll and flame. People flame you if you try and make serious reply in a joke post. I love this place, because I don't feel like I'm fighting with anyone every time I post.
Honestly I don't think anything has changed here, I just think some of you are burned out on this site. Coming here shouldn't be chore, and when it starts to be, that is when you need to take a break for a while. Just look at me, I've been a member for 5 years, and I only have around 200 posts. I hope no one else does anything stupid like deleting their account though.

Well I haven't noticed too many differences with the forum lately, but then I don't follow every thread that goes on here, only ones that either interest me or ones that I feel I can be useful. I hope that I have not offended anyone either. As far as I can recall, there's only been one other member I've ever truly not gotten along with. Overall this place kinda feels like a home or family to me and has since 2005.
I will say that since economic times are hard, it does tend to put people a bit more on edge. It also cuts down on available opportunities for those looking for jobs and companies are less willing to take risks.
I've not been entirely in great moods either since I feel that I'm about to graduate from my school and not know where my next job may be or if I'm even skilled enough to get a job in the industries I'm aiming to work for. I applied for about 20 different company internships and asked to be a volunteer for several other related events coming up and I was rejected for all of them, many of which I never heard back from. Even this one guy I talked with in person told me that there was definitely one internship that I'd surely be able to get no problem, and he never even bothered to respond to my email follow-up. So yeah, I haven't been in the best of moods either but I hope I've not shown an ugly side to anyone here. I find this place to be a joy to visit and a place where I can relax and not have to put up with levels of intense immaturity, such as all the crap that happens at my own forum community.

Uh, from what I can see, Lindaluv is still a member of this forum so why are we talking about her as if she's no longer here? ^^; *baps The Captain on the head Porom-style*
As for taking hiatuses from the forum, it's actually pretty spiffy! I took off shortly after my interest in Ys Origin waned and didn't even snoop around the board as an anonymous guest or anything.
I can't really recall why I came back but I do believe part of the reason was due to the spiffy folks around here. :D As I said a few times in the past, I love this board. ^___^ And I don't think threads like this could exist in a lot of other forums without hecklers and trolls coming in and doing their best to destroy everything. >:/

I myself think that realizing that sometimes an argument isn't always full of hate and rage is a good thing.
But don't listen to me, I'm a hatemonger, in the literal sense. Each violent outburst puts food on my children's table.

I've congealed into pure fanboy mode, where all I want to do is be like, "dur hur hur, look at da' pretty game..." ;) I'm ALWAYS in this mode. Join me! In fact, stay a while~! STAY FOREVERRRRRRRRRRR!!!! Glad you're enjoying the discussion! :D I just felt it was somewhat needed it since there seems to be quite a bit more drawn out debates than, say, a year ago. I was most curious about the thoughts of others on why this is~! (I still think that Seldane is part of the equation in keeping the place shiny and happy! XD)
