Michael Jackson has been such a controversial person throughout his life. Some people may consider him an evil pervert and others may think of him as a child in a man's body. What nobody can deny is that he was one of the greatest atists of our time, and certainly the biggest international star of our lifetimes.
Anyway, this thread is just to say something about him even if you weren't a big fan of his.
Nobody ever lived as much in the spotlight as him. Ever since his childhood he lived in the showbiz, always in the media. I don't think it did a whole lot of good to him as he became a pretty fucked up guy, but he left us some great music and he was a hell of performer and a fantastic dancer.
In the end, I'm just grateful for everything he did and hope he is enjoying his time in heaven.

I must warn the fans and anyone with a weak stomach that this is NOT the reply you want to be reading. This heavily edited quote of Ranzor's is my own personal feelings toward Michael Jackson -- highlight to read at your own discretion. I warn you, it's quite the opposite of what a fan would say.Michael Jackson has been such an evil pervert and he became a pretty fucked up guy. I didn't really have to type my reply.
I have some last words for our departed -- again, personal feelings advisory, don't read unless you really care to listen to my extremely UNPLEASANT words:I hope you're enjoying your time in hell, you sick fuck! There, all done. Dear friends, fans and those with weak stomachs, you may open your eyes now and breathe softly.

I don't understand why you had to twist Ranzor's words. You could have just typed it out yourself and hid it. :/
Anyway, I have no real opinion of Michael Jackson. Sometimes I think it's the media that made him what he ended up as but I guess part of it would also have to deal with his own thoughts and fantasies and crap.
Afterall, all we really have to go on is what we see on TV and read in the papers, magazines, and the Web; some of which is most likely exaggerated.
But yeah, Michael Jackson was a pioneer in good music videos and influenced a lot of artists. It's a shame that he passed away before that grand concert that he was going to do in London.

Yes, but it was much more pleasant to use Ranzor's words in a delightfully clever way (by removing only what I don't believe to be entirely true) than to actually write any of words my own, which would've been much more unappealing for me and for the viewers of said post. I have a rather unhealthy dislike which I'd rather not place too much emphasis on as said emphasis could cause an uproar. Therefore I limited my writing by a pleasant fraction.

He was a great musician and nobody really knows exactly what went down.
At the very least, he had a lot of problems, and the media cannot be trusted in the first place.

Erm, well, we already did say tidbits about it in the spam thread. But yeah. I don't have much of an opinion about HIM himself. (Can't trust media, but that doesn't rule out possibilities too.) But he did revolutionize music. Music-wise, thx Michael. =/ Moonwalk 4eva

Even you have to admit, though, that Michael Jackson changed the face of music forever, and was a tremendously talented, tremendously influential individual. Regardless of what he did in his personal life, he contributed a lot of good to the world, and that's what's really worth remembering. Yes he was~ Really truly was! I don't think I know of any other singer who was as well known (not counting Madonna!). So so much that even the remotest of villagers here know of him and are actually sad at his death! :'D Meh~! Even the monkeys know about him!!! X'D (Seriously! If you tell most pet/trained monkeys over here 'Do the Micheal Jackson!' they'll do the moonwalk. ) All the media hoo ha aside, he came up with some really amazing stuff. And for that, well.... I'm no raving fan or anything, but his death still is pretty sad. And was shocking to hear about! [ The media does tend to blow things out of proportion (>__>), people do tend to attack famous people more just to earn their moments of fame, and so... I'd rather believe he wasn't as rotten as everyone always made him out to be. Afterall! It's not like I knew him personally!]

Ha! You're an evil one, Unsavory. But I agree with Smithee. No one can be really sure of anything about Michael. There were always bizarre news about him and rumours that nobody could confirm. As for his trials, only the kids themselves know the truth. It could just as easily be a case of irresponsible mothers after an easy heap load of money. Anyway, all I mean is that you shouldn't be so quick to judge based on what the media shows.

Exactly! Really afterall, why would you BROADCAST your own child's case when it is about them having been molested?!
That is absurd!

I think the news was more shocking for me than anything else when I first heard it. But it did make me a little sad. I grew up listening to his music and I really liked his music. There's also no question just how influential he has been in both music and pop culture. At one time during the height of his popularity, he was the most famous man on the planet for many years. Yes there was some extreme controversy surrounding him and in many ways he definitely went off the deep end of what I can classify as a normal human being, but that doesn't mean that he wasn't a living legend.
Interesting that Wyrdwad posted a video of Space Michael from Space Channel 5. I really love that series and I was surprised to hear that not only was he a character within the game, he actually had a hand in producing both games.

I have to admit, while his music may be quite catchy, I've never really been a fan of Jackson. Not to say it's bad by any degree - just not my cup of tea. No denying his influence on the music world, though. Even if you did [deny it] before, the reaction to his death should be indication enough of how many people were affected by his music. I know quite a few musicians who are truly saddened by this, as he was a large influence in their work and life.

Michael Jackson, you were probably a reprehensible pervert (though acquitted on all charges), but you could bring a tune to life like a sumbitch.

Thanks for this links MP83 ! The truth at last ... however, I think it's a little late. I've always thought he wasn't guilty. I hope all the media and people will apologize for having said so much wickedness on MJ. We can always dream... R.I.P. Michael Jackson

You can't trust anything. Instinct says I want to believe what I believe, even if it isn't quite so PC.
On the other hand, this is what happens when people start, spread, and listen to rumors. Shit, I've had rumor-based attacks up the ass when I was out here a few years ago, so I know what it's like. Just not what it must've been like for the victim, given the astounding accusations.
Who says you have to believe anything? I mean, sure, if you believe it, you're on one side, and if you don't, you're on the other. The only option left is to keep to yourself and just forget about it. You have to understand that's a hard thing to do when the accusations are so bold, and that they essentially dug his grave the moment the verdict reached the jury. That was a unanimous decision that changed his life forever, and now with reasonable doubt (oh ho!) in the picture, you can't really judge him anymore.
What I mean is that I can't speak for or against him, nobody can or should. All they really can do, is do nothing at all. Peace, or damnation? I speak no more. Those who know nothing can only say nothing. I can't say one way or another that this is infact a tragedy or a miracle, but come what may, as he had believed, his rightful judge (as he had openly discussed on 60 minutes -- so you know I'm not blowing smoke out my hoo-haa) shall be the ultimate decider, and the king of kings shall inevitably offer him what is rightfully his.

I think it's okay to let your instincts decide what someone else is, and mine tell me he had a good heart, as long as we don't forget it's not necessarily the truth. Anyway, I agree, if one believes in those things, that we should let the King of Kings decide everything in those matters and just let it be.

I think it's okay to let your instincts decide what someone else is, Not always, I think. '._. But yeah, admitedly, I do "feel" he wasn't bad. Not sure whether or not he did some of the things he were accused of, but anyway...

He was acquitted.
I'm pretty sure that means the evidence was weighed and he was found innocent of actual wrongdoing, so it's kinda like saying someone found innocent of murder is a murderer.
Not that sexual deviancy wasn't there, but it seems a jury has agreed he didn't act on it.
So yeah.
