Coke vs. Pepsi! 7-Up vs. Sprite!! Whopper vs. Big Mac!!! Malteasers vs. Whoppers!!!! M&Ms vs. Smarties!!!!! (Smarties chocolate might be more of a Canadian thing though cuz when I told my boyfriend that I liked it, he sent me those damn rocket candies. >_>)
Actually, I only thought of this topic because I'm eating Malteasers right now (at 7:33 in the morning X.x) and thinking how awesome they are compared to Whoppers.
I really dislike Whoppers, y'see. :E
So what other similar pairings are there? And what are your preferences!?

I'm a Coke guy, but lately I've been drinking Pepsi for a change of pace. 7-Up or Sprite...? NEITHER! They're too acid-y for my tastes, and they burn my throat something fierce. Hmm... 2 Whoppers for $3 on Wednesdays. I think that gives BK the win! I've never tried either. I honestly don't know the difference. I don't eat chocolates much, so they're both not that great for me. SKITTLES! (Yeah, it is a Canadian thing. My brother brought proof from his Boston trip) Hmm... What other pairings? Pepsi Twist vs. Coke Lime! Ginger Ale vs. Ginger Beer!! Mashed Potatoes vs. Baked Potatoes!!! Hashbrowns vs. Home fries!!!! Cookies n Cream iced cream vs. Orea iced cream!!!!! Diet Coke vs. Diet Pepsi!!!!!!

Coke for sure. I'm from the South and live in Georgia where CocaCola is headquarted. : ) So. Sprite wins too when compared to 7 up.
But I will add that:
Boca Java Coffee > All Other Coffee Ever. : ) Man it's good!

I've never been too terribly big on soda. All my friends growing up thought I was weird for wanting water instead of a pepsi, or asking for wheat bread instead of white. Guess I just had odd tastes. There's only one that I won't ever turn down: black cherry soda. Any brand (and it's almost only available as a store brand or a cheapy brand like Shasta) of black cherry soda is awesome and kicks all of the heavily advertised drinks out of the water. BUT I DIGRESS, Coke is the superior drink. When it comes to all the lemon-lime type drinks... I guess I just don't care, hah. There is one thing about Arizona (and the 4 most southwest states in general) that the rest of the country - and the whole world, is missing out on. A HUGE (for a family owned store) family-owned chain of burger joints called In-n-Out. Their menu is just burgers, fries, shakes. No weirdass sandwiches, no chicken or anything like that. And they make the best fast food burger you'll ever taste. I don't eat at McD or the King anymore. SO NO PREFERENCE. I never liked either of those "signature" sandwiches anyways. Plain chzburger plz. I can't say I've ever heard of Malteasers, so I'd have to go with Whoppers o nthat front. Are Malteasers a Canadian candy? Oh man. When I went to Blizzcon to meet up with my old wow guild back in november, our resident Canadian brought down all kinds of crazy foods that we don't have in America; Smarties among them! Truly superior to our little chalky candies, indeed! I'd say better than M&Ms too, for that matter. He brought some kind of chip, too... Ruffles brand... All Dressing or something like that? They were really good, whatever they were, and I wish I could buy them here. Now if I could just try poutine, since I hear so much about that all the time. Time to stop writing an essay~ Lime drinks - neither. Haet. Ginger Ale. Never heard of Ginger Beer, but Ale kicks some serious ass. Mashed Potatoes, unless the potato is TWICE baked, then I might have a hard time choosing. Home fries - I can't stand hashbrowns, the way they're "meant" to be cooked is just... too undercooked for me. I can't stand potatoes that are even remotely raw. I like them done to a crisp, and they might as well be shoestring fries at that point. Cookies n Cream, I'd say. Though, Cookie Dough ice cream is clearly far superior. Diet drinks - both are pretty failicious. I'd have to say pepsi does a better job retaining the flavour, though, even if I don't like it. I'll think of some stuff later...

Woah woah woah. You get no All Dressed chips in America!? They're my favourite flavour! O:
I think I do like Smarties over MnMs on second's thought.
Shame you don't get poutine. I'm lucky enough to live in Ottawa (the nation's capitol, which isn't that cool, until you realize you have the assholes running the place livin' next to you.) so I'm right by Quebec. We get some good chiptrucks around here, that make it straight up the way it is meant to be made. Not to mention we have the St. Albert's cheese factory just miles away, which makes the best cheese curds of all time.
Seriously, if anyone came to the area you'd see the ultimate that is Canada! I used to be jealous that I didn't have the big cities like Montreal or Toronto, but really I have a really good mix of rural and urban.

Your northeastern neighbor has Poutine AND All-Dressed Chips! The chocolate smarties are a little too tart for my tongue. // I've NEVER heard of or seen Malteasers. That kindof sounds like what I'd call a shopping-district hooker.

Ooh. What's the equivalent to Skittles? :O You know what we're missing here in Canada? Or at least where I live? IHOP. Not that I go looking for pancake houses but man, I don't know of any and for sure, there ain't no IHOP anywhere! The closest breakfasty, pancake-serving place I can think of off the top of my head is Denny's. And even Denny's is a rare sight! Seriously, if anyone came to the area you'd see the ultimate that is Canada! I used to be jealous that I didn't have the big cities like Montreal or Toronto, but really I have a really good mix of rural and urban. I live in the land of suburbia and it's all I've ever known! So every time I go visit friends in the US, it feels so ... strange as NO ONE lives in a large city. It seems like you have to keep hopping onto highways to get to any cool malls or shops. Just checked the good ol' Wikipedia and it looks like me city is the 6th largest in Canada (with a population of 668,549 from the 2006 census). I think it'll be hard for me to adjust to living in a tinier place because almost everything is pretty much within a few minutes' drive (including Pearson International Airport). Even downtown Toronto is just like a 20-minute drive on the highway (or around 30-35 minutes to the downtown core via subway. Not sure about Go Train or Go Bus since I've never rode either down.) Here is the madness! Zoom in for sheer housing craziness!Anyway, I keep thinking those Starburst candies are more or less copies of Sugus since I grew up with the latter. :9 Sugus is by Wrigley's and the taste isn't as crazy sour as Starburst stuff! Try to hunt down all the countries they're sold at here! XD (Hint: It's mostly a European and Asian thing. ^^) Also, White Rabbit Candy is so goood. TT Is there any equivalent to them? :o Oh yeah! en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MaltesersHa! I've been spelling it wrong. ^^;

// I've NEVER heard of or seen Malteasers. That kindof sounds like what I'd call a shopping-district hooker. How can you not know about them?! (Even if nunuu did spell them wrong! X'D) They are the utter gods of chocolates! ...Or candies. ...Or chocolate candies (whatever they'd be classified as... :'D). Now Whoppers though..! Those I've never heard of! :'D As for pairings... erm.... I can't think of any? Well aside from: Winterfresh vs. Big Red! (Or wait... Winterfresh vs. any of the other Wrigley's chewing gums!) (Because I'm chewing upon Winterfresh right now~! Naturally it's Winterfresh which I love!) Oh! Miranda vs. Fanta! I don't like either, by the way. (Which reminds me - has someone seen those signboards in Ar Tonelico II which for some reason look incredibly like Fanta ads? O__o )

I LOVE Fanta! Anyone ever try Tamarind Soda, though? They sell it in southern states -- it's the absolute most revolting soda ever created! It'd take weeks to get the taste out of your mouth, you'd need some pretty hefty ale! DX I was one of the unlucky bastards who tried said soda. NEVER AGAIN will I be so bold and adventurous!!

@ Smithee: Well, no All-Dressed Chips here anyways (Unsavory apparently has them!). Nobody at our little meetup had heard of them either - we had people from Calirofnia, Florida, Ohio, Maryland and even New Zealand! On Canada: I've actually often toyed with the thought of Canada being where I'd like to live in the future. @ Unsavory: Colorado? If so, omg I have to buy some chips! I'm going on vacation over there at the end of July.

Nope. I used to live in the southern states, like New Mexico and Texas, but then I moved to the north-eastern coast.
Yeah, I've never seen or heard of Maltesers in my life. Just Whoppers.
Soda: Dr. Pepper Booze: Sake
I miss the Sonic Drive-Thrus. =\ The closest one to me is in New York! Grrr!

I just looked up Maltesers, It says they are popular in Canada, UK, Ireland and Australia. They are owned by Mars, which is an American company, so I don't really know why they wouldn't sell them here. Looks just like whoppers to me.
Lets see. Coke vs. Pepsi! I prefer coke, but like to switch between them so I don't get to bored with either.
7-Up vs. Sprite!! Sprite By Far.
Whopper vs. Big Mac!!! Neither, both places have better burgers at better prices.
Malteasers vs. Whoppers!!!! Whoppers by default, although I can't really judge
M&Ms vs. Smarties!!!!! Shame on you for not doing M&Ms vs Reese Pieces, Smarties vs Sweettarts.

M&Ms vs. Smarties!!!!! Shame on you for not doing M&Ms vs Reese Pieces, Smarties vs Sweettarts. Nuu? Do you mean the peanut buttery M&M's? Or the mini nibbly Reeses Pieces? I honestly don't like either so I never really pay attention to what versions/flavours are out there. :3 SweeTarts? :o Another potentially American thing! I call those candies Rockets. (Er, under Regional Variations.) (Random aside: Mom just brought me some sliced pears to eat in a plastic container. But .... man, the pear tastes like it was exposed to dish detergent. >_< And surely enough, the container smells like detergent. ERGH.)

No, just the full sized Reeses Pieces. They don't look much different from M&Ms except they are peanut butter. Peanut Butter M&Ms are basically a ripoff, just as good. Have you ever seen the movie E.T the extra terrestial? That was like one of his favorte foods. They are basically like giant size smarties, except much harder.

Smithee, you're thinking of Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, which comes in Miniature, Regular, and BIG CUP sizes. Heh, is this really the only thread in which we've talked about cup sizes?
