So my sister was drawing in Open canvas, then prnt scrn-ing the final product into another picture in paint. She hadnt saved anything yet and we lost power. Is it possible temporary files might have been created, giving us an opportunity to recover them? or should she just give up and redraw everything?

That's odd, I have been able to paste things after shutting down my laptop, but it was text data so idk.
You could always dive through the temp folder and see if anything was created, but I doubt you'll find much... ):
