Hey! Figured, being new and all, I should post here, although my main query's in the main Ys forum. Let's see. In a nutshell, I used to leave my Sfamicom cartridge of YSIII: Wanderers from Ys sitting in places with good music as I read or ate dinner or otherwise didn't actually play. Oh, and I finished Wanderers, then Mask of the Sun in japanese (I knew I took Japanese in high school for a reason!) That pretty much sums up my love of Ys. The fact that the series draws on a real Celtic legend with a seriously neat storyline is like icing. I still cherish my falcom music collection and anticipate any further adventures of Adol Christin. Charan

Hey, welcome! I read your previous (long) post, and you're obviously a big fan of Ys music. Have you heard any of the unreleased Ys music? Such as the church theme?
Welcome to the boards! Have fun!

Nopers. I've seen a cd online regarding unreleased Ys and Xanadu (or Dragonslayer?) music, though.
...and sorry about the post length. I've got -years- worth of pent-up Ys-adulation. I'll try to be succinct. ^_^

That is the only reason I started up these forums - I just HAD to find some people to talk about Ys with.

Hey and WELCOME to the forums! ^_^ Hope you enjoy yourself here! And I agree with Seldane: the longer the post, the better the read

I'll try to be succinct. ^_^ You probably mean the compilation with unreleased tracks from Ys 1&2 Eternal and Legend of Heroes IV. Pretty hit-and-miss affair, that one. Most of the tracks are not really new music, but rather alternative arrangements of songs that are already in the game. I think Seldane was referring to actual lost tracks written for the PC-88 version of the game back in the 80s. You can hear these tracks only on complete soundtracks for the games, such as "Music from Ys", though a fair number of the "lost" tracks were also actually added to the gameplay in Ys Eternal, but not all of them. There still hasn't been a version of Ys that includes "Church" or "Sub-mission" yet, just to name a few.
