I don't know that I'll get much help with this problem here, but it can't hurt to ask.
Anyway, I decided to upgrade this computer, and I finally got it back, only to find out that Fraps doesn't want to record the sound in videos properly anymore; it works, but it sounds terrible. From what I can tell via other message boards, the general consensus seems to be to mess with the "Stereo Mixer" option, which is an option I can check in the Volume control panel, but I can't mess around with the slider for some reason (same with the other recording sliders, except for "Recording Control").
I don't suppose anyone has any other suggestions, or am I just going to need to upgrade? Currently, I'm using Realtek HD Audio. I don't remember what I was using before the upgrade, but there weren't any problems getting the audio to record properly. And if it matters, the sound is otherwise running properly; it's just when I try and record something that's giving me problems.
Any help with this would be appreciated.

From the wording it sounds like you just sent the PC off to get new parts. Did you try uninstalling and installing a new fraps? To refresh driver linkage (in case whomever did the upgrading was a lazy SOD).
Also, do you have admin rights on your computer? I assume it is windows, but what version?
Lastly, you could try reinstalling the sound drivers from the manufacturer's cd (Assuming they sent you a new one depending on what upgrades they did).
And does the sound problem only occur in the recorded video or does it occur during recording too?

Yeah, this is basically a whole new computer, minus the hard drive; most of the parts were just too old. Anyway, someone from the SDA forum helped me out. I needed to mess around with the other sliders, apparently. If for some reason someone needs to know the settings (mind you, this is for a Realtek HD Audio driver), I'll just link to this post. Well, hopefully that'll be the end of all this Fraps nonsense.
