Bit from 45 secs is awesome! Don't be so goddamn hard on yourself! Damn good.

Wow! Great job man, that's awesome! You know, I think a piece like this could work really well as a dungeon or boss theme for Ys. While listening I kept imagining Adol surrounded by hordes of monsters, trying to outrun them, and jumping over numerous pits.

Agreed. Now I know the games you and Unsavory and rest are working on (are you still?) will have awesome music.

GodDAMN, my soundcard makes all MIDI sound like crap, even the stuff I used to love listening to. >:V
Back then, I was using some freeware or shareware Japanese application to play MIDIs because the soundcard did no justice to them! I wish I could remember what it was called.
Anyway, what do you people use to play the files? I wants to listen to mutagene's stuff properly! >:(

Anyway, what do you people use to play the files? I wants to listen to mutagene's stuff properly! >:( I don't have anything special right now, so I just used winamp. I remember once, though, a midi I got from FM-77 sounded so much better with FFDShow installed. I had to uninstall it though because it started interfering with my newer Falcom games. LoX 2 was amazing with it though. Note: I know nothing about sound cards or computers, I just know that the above stated method worked really well for me.

Yeah, we're still working on projects together. I'll update this post as soon as I can listen to the music -- it'll be a while. // I'll be constructively honest here -- it has a lot of potential, but I think the midi instruments (not your work) are horrible. It'd be best (in my opinion) to look into ModPlug Tracker (you can port midis to it, though the program does have its faults) and use instruments from Yamaha SoftSynth (perhaps the best synth I've ever used) or other sources. The bass guitar is very good, though, and the quality of composition is... hard to describe without proper instruments (again, good ones, in my opinion) to ensure the overall quality. I hope I wasn't too hard on you -- and I'm hopeful that this helps you along. I also suggest possibly pairing up with Abbot. Proper teamwork can produce an amazing sound. All criticisms aside, you did pretty good. // I really like the midi a lot more than the mp3, on your average laptop midi synth.
