The biggest difference is in its presentation. Compared to Sorcerian Original, the game is definitely the weaker version. You are right, it is Sorcerian, but a really piss poor effort. The graphics look like crap man, which may not be something to gripe about, as there are good but crappy looking games. The problem lies with how well it looks on the TV, and how it compares to other Dreamcast games. Old school graphics are fine (3dDot ect ect ect), but in this case it really shows a lack of effort. They weren't going for an archaic look, but rather a 3d smooth type world that would, as you suggested, appeal to a more casual crowd. It looks and plays like a late 90's PC game. The gameplay I can understand, but the look of the game is just inexcusable. It looks like the bastard child of Sorcerian MSX and Wild Arms. Honestly, I wouldn't recommend it to the casual player, because it would very much put a different spin on the series.
I mean look at the difference here:
The older version looks and plays much better! I'm not saying your judgment is wrong, but at the same time, don't give Sorcerian DC too much credit. It could have been much much better than it actually ended up being. On a plus note though, the music is pretty sweet. Its very much something a Falcom, and Sorcerian fan should look into. Its not a good way to introduce a casual player into the series though. That's a job better left for Sorcerian Original.
Honestly, If I'm to relate this to you properly, Sorcerian DC compares with Legacy of Ys Books I and II. Ys DS is Ys, but it has its issues. You were #1 dude on the internet to put the game down, and its for almost those very reasons that Sorcerian DC is a weak port. It just could have been better than it actually turned out to be. Its easy to say this about Ys DS, because Falcom eventually trumped the DS release with the PSP remake. At its core, Sorcerian DC plays very much like a Sorcerian game. Its just that it was obvious they were trying to "enhance" the experience with that port, and they did a really crappy job. The look of the game could have been much better, and the speed of the gameplay could have been a little faster as well. So if the only thing the DC version has going for it is the gameplay, why not just play a better version *cough* Original and Forever *cough*
I still think you should pick it up, just don't get your hopes up.

WTF.... um dude..... This is a late 80's PC game and this is a late 90's PC game So is this one How does this look like a 90's PC title? Here is a DC RPG that looks somewhat like Sorcerian DC, but believe me, looks much better in action: I mean hell, the worst they could have done was this: Heh just kidding. I wish it played that smooth, but that's asking a little much haha. Anyways dude, seriously I think you would like it. Your into cute dorky looking games, which by pics and vids posted, Sorcerian DC fits the bill. Still, it doesn't come off like a Sorcerian game, and for a new fan, starting out with that title may leave you feeling a little foreign if moving on to other titles int he series.

Its not just the graphics, but the overall design. The characters a bigger, yet the level size is the same. This means the game feels a bit clunky at times, plus it is slower than its PC counterparts. Its also in this off center 2.5 aspect that was obviously used to accentuate the 3d look. It ends up really adding to the clunky feel, as the depth is hard to work with at times.
The older games were less technologically advanced I guess, but they sure played better. So yeah, I can say its a weak game based on its graphical design. I said its the games presentation as a whole, not just the pretty colors on the screen.
Its got its plus' though, such as the inclusion of a jump button, and much smoother scrolling. Fair trades I guess, but not enough to make it worth freaking out over.

Ha ha, how very true.
Gah, I'd carry on this convo, but I'm pretty tired. If you do look for the game, make sure to find the rare version with the pack in soundtrack.

I had a dream last night where I was going to become the 4th ranked assassin, according to the UAA. The weird part was I had a big spinning hat, and in the dream Left 4 Dead was made by Clover studios (only the first game though). I was at my grandmother's with my brother and a good friend, and we decided to walk to the next match, and I told them that "[They] can't help this time." So I went along the highway for a really long time until I reached the point. Just like the game there was a toilet, and a big exclamation point to start the stage. This was pretty cool, until I got stuck in a looping sequence where the boss was always a cutscene, and was killed without me. At least I got to see a lot of Sylvia, that was good, 'cause DAMN she's hot.

I've been feeling a very impending doom up ahead, seeing as I've wasted all the chances I have had to avoid everything falling apart.
It'll be fixed, I'm sure. I just know I'm missing the point, and wasting away.

I really hope I can get to sleep tonight. The looming TSO concert has me way too freaking excited.
Tempted to stay up and play Ninja Gaiden II a bit more, but I need the sleep. =_=

I'm sad. I'm so close to where I want to be, but I can't go there. I haven't been able to talk, haven't been able to write, and don't know when I'll see her again. I just know I miss her, and it can't be helped. I still have her Christmas present with me at all times, waiting for her to open it someday soon.

Holy crap.
Xbox LIVE Arcade has a crap ton of games. @_@;
Oh geez. Out of all the Wing Commander games to release on it, it had to be Arena. >_>
BLEH.
Ha! Avatar apparel. Kind of wondering why Nintendo's never started this for their lameass Miis yet. Given the kind of user base/audience they have, I think they'd make a killing if they let people dress up their Miis for tiny amounts of money.

Random thought 1 - Me god~ Crshe is really truly, truly awesome. Why have I not heard any of ye guys singing praises in her favour? :'D Or am I just not paying attention......? :''''D (Or was it that everyone was so busy arguing over her name that everyone forgot her awesomeness?)Hoi~ No proper full body pics of Crshe were ever shown, ne? Random thought 2 - *totally unrelated to random thought 1* In winters, the moment darkness falls, it really does seem the day has ended. Which is kind of a silly thought..... X'D Considering how I end up doing 80% of me stuff after dark.

Britain is pathetic.
A bit of snow, and all of a sudden everything collapses. Barely any public transport this morning, none after 3PM today around in this city at least. No grit for the roads, and none of the council can be bothered going out to spread it anyway.
And on top of all that? Everyone's now being told to not use so much gas for heating 'because we don't have a huge amount left'. Oh wonderful. Not like it's absolutely freezing outside or anything.

Ordered an Epson Perfection V30 flatbed scanner! (Not from Amazon but Best Buy Canada.) I've been a few years overdue in getting a new scanner. >:/ The one I've been using uses USB 1.0, scans slow as hell, has colour accuracy issues, and dust trapped under the glass. The purchase would have been more justified if I bought it 2 or so years ago when I went nuts scanning the Kingdom Hearts II Ultimania but whatever. :3
