BTW, I'm going to obnoxiously double-post, since this is pretty well unrelated to the above statement... I have this general feeling like I've been a lot more belligerent/argumentative on here lately than I usually am, and I really, really hope no one's been offended by that. I don't mean to act that way, and I've been trying to curb it a bit, but sometimes, I just perpetuate discussions without thinking, especially when I'm running on very little sleep, or feeling anxious about something. And given the odd sleep schedules I've been keeping lately (what with no job!), and all my worrying about the future, it's been a lot harder for me to catch myself before I get all disgruntled and crotchety. If I ever reach a point where you guys feel I should stop, and just let a given subject go, please tell me. The last thing I want to do is drive anyone away, like what happened a year ago with the whole Lindaluv homosexuality discussion. I'm probably worried about nothing, since no one SEEMS to have gotten offended lately... but even so, I just wanted to make sure I said something, as there's nothing I hate more than unintentionally hurting others. -Tom That kind of echoes how I've been feeling lately about my posts too. :'D Add to the fact that I'm for some reason churning out obnoxiously long replies to everything, when I can just reply with a yea or nay.... D: * shot* But I've found your discussions with the others fun to read! And not at all offensive? And unrelated, but, Ys Seven's OST is very, very amazing. And even more unrelated - packing does suck. :'D Especially when one is returning back home from the place that you have visited and your luggage weight has mysteriously gone from 1kg to 45kg+. :'''''''D

Maybe cause I have been prompting you to do so IMSCO, makes for more interesting discussions. This is pretty much the only place I can actually talk in English for the next 5 months, so I hope this carries on.

Heh, I know how that goes. Last time I went to Japan, I brought an empty suitcase... and STILL ran out of room for all the crap I purchased! I had to bum suitcase space from my friend! And one of my suitcases was over the weight limit! When I came back my suitcase was WAY over the weight limit, as was my handluggage but they don't weigh those, and that was after spending about 70,000 yen or something shipping boxes home. I'm still nowhere near recovered from the sheer amount of money I spent that year. Roughly £4200 in the red, £2000 of which is my maxed out bank overdraft and the rest owed to my dad

Also, second to last exam over. I hate job interviews at the best of times, never mind in Japanese ;_;
ONE MORE TO GO ON FRIDAY AND THEN I'M FREE.

As have I. Revision at home sucks.

At least when you're revising at home you don't have to pay food and heating bills and stuff!
I wish I could. But no, I need access to the library here.

Yeah it's part of the speaking assessment. Done no different to a real one, but yeah, marks rest on it not an actual job

Random thought of the moment: HOLY FUCK I'M GONNA DIE Second random thought: Well, at least now I know what was causing my games to lag like hell.

I downloaded Everest. It's a computer monitoring program.
Why aren't you more freaked out by the temperature of my GPU? >_>

Not everyone knows the average temperature of hardware. haha
At least the GPU should be easy to fix. Up the fan speed, dust it out. Good to go!

Standard temp for a GPU under full load should be like 80-90C tops. This is my GPU idle.

There are sensors built into the hardware usually. Mostly it's used for the drivers to (in GPU's case) wind back what it can do. Sort of like turning down the settings in an attempt to generate less heat.
There are programs like what he used that let the PC user see them, but generally companies don't feel it's important to show the users. And generally, they're right, since people will panic when something gets 'too hot'.

Random thoughts at the moment....
a) I am SO hungry. Want McDonald's but I bet the GF wants Pho or some soup at home.
b) I want to continue playing Titan Quest tonight..but feel like I am totally neglecting Ys II, ToEE and FF VII. Games have feelings too.
c) Maybe I'll eat a cupcake.

I'm a pathetic apathetic, so even though I realize that games have feelings too, I'm too lazy to care. :/

First Day of Class Adventures: GPH 412 Edition! Professor to Geo majors: "I've never seen this many people in my class... the student list looks like the entire roster of the football team!" Then, once everyone is seated and class starts (paraphrased from memory!) "It's been years since I've had this many students. I'm not sure what compelled you all to take a course called "physical climatology" but in case you didn't know, let me tell you what this class is. There are no powerpoints, there are no pretty pictures of clouds, I will not be using a computer. This is very much a math course. I will be deriving equation upon equation with boards of calculus and trig, starting at the core of the sun and ending at the surface of the earth. By the end of the semester we will construct a mathematically and theoretically sound model of the climate on earth at any given point. We'll see how many of you are left on Monday. That's it for today, haha!" I like this man.
