S'up all. I've been lurking around for a while now, and I decided that I might as well register.
I've been interested in Falcom games since last year after hearing "Silver Will" from Sora no Kiseki SC and "Ernst" from Ys VI. Unfortunately though, I still haven't played any games produced by them due to a large backlog and general annoyances such as school work and the like, however, this is something I'd like to rectify. Earlier this year I was dead set in buying the Legend of Heroes' Gagharv trilogy on PSP, but then I found out that Namdai butchered them quite a bit, and so I decided not to. I'll probably end up buying Ys VI soon, although I'm not sure which platform would be the best to get it on.
Looking forward to developing an even bigger interest in the Ys series and Falcom as a whole thanks to this place!

Seconding pretty much everything in wyrdy's post. Ys 6, Oath in Felghana and Gurumin are all fantastic titles worth the time. PC is usually the best platform to go for wherever possible, none of the games really require anything in the way of good specs. You'll probably want a pad though, if you don't want to get a proper one for the PC and have a PS2 pad, cheap adapters go for a few quid on ebay. Anyway, welcome! Nice to see more UK members here

Mario 64? Honestly? It's more like a cross between Zelda and Goemon! Infact, imagine if you will that every level is a dungeon with box puzzles, defeat-all-enemies trap rooms, hidden switches, etc... and don't all of the bosses drop a vitality-increasing heart/item? Yeah, Gurumin is Falcom's Zelda, no questions! // I prefer Ys Origin to Ys VI: The Ark of Napishtim, but to each their own! // Also, I'm not Varion or Wyrdwad (Although pretty close as far as the latter is concerned, oddly enough!), but I must add that if you have a Playstation or a Playstation 2, you should consider a PS1/PS2 to USB adapter instead of your typical PC gamepad. PC gamepads are cheap and oftentimes they don't work properly and accurately. Whereas Sony designed their gamepads for everyday use! Would you trust the company that's just looking for a quick buck at the expense of gamers, or would you trust the company with the flawless game controllers? Radioshack no longer sells PS2 to USB adapters, but you should be able to find some good ones via several other retailers online! The best part? These adapters are CHEAP! They're roughly only $10, if that!

I'll check eBay for a USB adapter then.
And yeah, I'm mainly looking for stuff I can play in English. However, I'd probably be willing to use AGTH + ATLAS (provided that that method works with the specific game) if there isn't any other option.
Really appreciate the help guys, thanks!

For Ys Origin I'd be better of waiting for the patch, a couple of months isn't that long to wait. I'm really tempted to play the Sora no Kiseki games using AGTH + ATLAS though, but the wonky translations would probably reduce the impact of the story, although there doesn't really seem like any other option until either English patches come out (which'll take a considerable amount of time) or if Falcom allows them to be localised (which seems unlikely).

AGTH definitely works with Ys Origin and the Legend of Heroes: Sora no Kiseki games, but does NOT work with Zwei II or Xanadu Next. Those are the only games I've tried it with thus far, however. -Tom Zwei 2 works fine with "/HS4@4E8080 /KF". (Oh, hi, by the way. Been lurking forever, finally signed up.)
