The 1/100 00 Raiser is actually the only non-MG I've ever bought, and when I opened it up, well...I'm not sure why it isn't an MG. It's very detailed, and hell, it even has more stickers and decals than some MGs I've done. Plus both the GN drives and the head light up on this version.

You make a good argument for it. ;P I wasn't sure if the GN drives lit up or if it was just light piping in the pics I saw. Good to know that they do light up.
Now to add it to my list of models I want to get but keep putting off because either I can't find 'em or I'm too cheap to pay for shipping on large boxes like model kits: -Kotobukiya 1/100 VR Viper II -Kotobukiya 1/100 VR Specineff -Bandai 1/100 MG Gundam Unicorn -Bandai 1/100 00 Raiser
And I still haven't finished inking all the dragoons on the 1/100 MG Strike Freedom Full Burst kit that I started like almost two years ago... nor taken pictures of the 1/100 MG Strike Noir I finished last year

Oh, GMF, I wanted to get All Star Superman, even though I haven't read Morrison's comic yet, but the video store hadn't gotten it yet. It is a shame that Dwayne McDuffie passed away...
The DCU Animated Original Movies are so hit and miss. Superman Doomsday is good as is Under The Red Hood, but I found Superman/Batman Public Enemies to be shallow and lame and I can't describe how bad Justice League New Frontier was. Maybe if I had read the graphic novels those two are based on I'd find them better, but still.
It's a shame too, after the great DCAU. Oh well.
Can you tell me how good All-Star Superman is when you've watched it?

Sure, I'll give you a full report on All-Star Superman. If you get a chance to see the Superman/Batman Apocalypse movie I recommend reading the graphic novel first. I think that was my favorite so far.

Ah, so Apocalypse was better than Public Enemies.
I'll bug you some more, how are those Marvel movies, like Hulk Vs Thor or whatever?

I haven't seen all the Marvel ones, but I really love the Hulk Vs. Movie! I would have liked the Wolverine part to be longer, but other than that, what you get are great fights, quality animation and acting, and enough story to set up the fights. I've seen the first Avengers movie, and liked it, and the Iron Man was was ok, but the Hulk Vs. is on a better level of quality.
Planet Hulk is great, but I'll have a real problem if they don't animate World War Hulk, because that's the more awesome part of the story, where Hulk comes back and tears everyone up.
Superman/Batman Apocalypse sticks to the story more than Public Enemies I think.

I still need to get the Planet Hulk and World War Hulk comic books! The trouble is, I think you need to read Civil War which I heard is poopy.

Alright, official birthday haul until further notice: a nice shirt and a scarf, Berserk volumes 7-13, Batman & Son, Batman The Black Glove, Batman The Resurrection of Ra's al Ghul, Batman R.I.P., Final Crisis, X-Force Angels & Demons, and X-Force Old Ghosts. Pretty radical!

Y'know, Smith, I just assumed you were past me on the Berserk train. Sounds like you're almost caught up to where it stops being good. *blasted by Guts*
Yeah, not to give anything away, (you DID see the anime), but I felt it stopped being as good shortly after the eclipse. Miura starts going off on story arcs, and to me "arc" translates to "useless filler." There was some good mixed in with the "meh" but I haven't been able to pick it up since volume 25. Mild Spoiler: our ragtag band of heroes receive enchanted weapons from a witch in a forest cottage to save a village from trolls. Really, Miura? REALLY?!
I want to see more of the God Hand, the Skull Knight, and motherprincess-fuckin'-Griffith! Not this generic crap! RAAAWRRR!

[SPOILERS]
I was kinda worried something like that would happen. Oh well, I'll still probably stick with it.
It is kinda defeating though, I remember how hard I was sobbing at the end, for guy's like Judeau and Gaston... ):
Oh, and I was flipping through the books, and the sex with the princess is 10x in the manga. Yowzie. That should happen soon since Guts is just about to branch off from the Band of the Hawk.
[/SPOILERS]
In other news I might be getting a lady friend of mine into Berserk, which is pretty cool. And my brother is reading my comics now, which I'm happy about. It'll give me another person to talk to about it! I told him he'll have to wait a bit before he reads Watchmen, because my mom would have a fit if I let him read it (even though I'm pretty sure he's mature enough, although he won't understand it all on a first reading).

Wait till the Guts and Caska coupling, my friend. You have to be made of ice, metal, or feces to not get upset over Judeau. I believe Schlag has said before that there are other characters you'll care for later on, but I personally don't care about anyone introduced to where I stopped as much I did about Judeau.

I liked when Judeau gave Casca the medicine, and it ties in with Puck. That was pretty cool.
The part that hurts with Gaston, moreso than in the anime, is that A) I know what the outcome is, so every time somebody smiles it hurts, and B), I think this wasn't alluded to in the anime, but Guts tells Casca about how Gaston isn't really a fighting man and... well, ):
Hell, I even felt bad for Corkus in the show.
And, I wonder what I'll feel when Judeau never finishes his last line.

Y'know, Smith, I just assumed you were past me on the Berserk train. Sounds like you're almost caught up to where it stops being good. *blasted by Guts* Spoilers: it gets good again. But there is a huge down time before they've finally fleshed out a new cast of characters other than Guts and Casca that the reader can actually care about. Though I'll say a lot of the characters I like now I hated when they were first introduced and never saw how they could be good characters. More spoilers: And thinking about it, Griffith is a lot like Optimus Prime. The series sucks when they are dead but gets better as soon as you bring them back.

Herr Schlagwerk, Is there any chance you could tell me about how much further I have to go for it to get really good again (Vol. 25, I stated the scene I'm in the middle of in spoiler text in earlier post. . . actually a little bit past that, at the inevitable fighting).
I've already seen the backstory for our "party members," and still don't much care for 'em. --I do like all the quarreling 'tween the kid and Puck though ( "Don't read people's thought bubbles!" ). Anyway, I'd like to push on if things are going to get better, but at where I am, I. Just. Don't. Care.
I'm half tempted to skip ahead, which isn't something I do.

Ehem, let me put up the spoiler wall
Spoilers: I started enjoying the series again when they started going into how magic works in the world and introduced Schierke. But from there and Guts getting the berserk armor it just keeps picking up. When they get to the port town of name-I-forgot Farnese gets some better development. Serpico still stays pretty bland but I forget where he tries to fight Guts in the room full of columns. That was awesome. Then things just keep building up as the Kushan invade the town, Griffith reforms the Band of the Hawk and becomes a prophesied savior. Last volume I read (which was about a half year ago) ended with reality getting fucked in the a and the spirit world started merging with the real world. For a large chunk of the arc Guts is barely a main character and that didn't bother me in the slightest

Goddammit. Why couldn't you have just said that it's all downhill and I won't like it any more? Now I have to slog through the parts I don't enjoy just so Berserk can be awesome again! Thank you VERY MUCH, Schlagwerk! But yeah, seriously, that does sound much better. I'll have to make some time for mangaing again in the near future.
