Yeah at least I didn't have to try to explain why someone should keep reading Battle Angel Alita: Last Order. There's some nice world building (err.. or should it be universe building in this case?) going on, but mostly it's been almost a stock shounen fighting tournament.
Though there was this one exemplary WTF moment with one of the challengers in the tournament that the author manages to perfectly explain in a way they left me thinking "okay.. that actually makes total sense"
....still it was a giant nanoblob-beast with a penis-shaped motion wave cannon

Had an awesome bundle of post today - The little MD cart bundle was a very kind freebie from Eurotaku, however as I already own Japanese versions of Sonic 1 and Shining Force 2 I'm going to offer those two as freebies to ALoY-ers. The only conditions are - you must submit the most awesome emote you know along with your request, and you must have some intent to actually use them and not just leave them stuffed in a dusty box or flipped on eBay/elsewhere

Is there a difference between Sonic 1 in Japan vs America? I already have the American version and love it, but if there's no difference, it might not be worth it for you.
Shining Force 2 would be cool, only, I don't really play RPGs in Japanese.
So yeah, I guess that this offer isn't really for me.

I guess not this time, but I'm sure there'll be something for you in the future ^^~
I should have said in the first place - Sonic is region free and will work on any Genedis/MD so long as you have a pass through cart (or widened cart slot), Shining Force 2 needs either a Jp MD or a proper region modded PAL/US console

Garsh! I would love to steal that SFII off you, but it wouldn't get the respect it deserves outside a pristinely polished collection piece. Buying a system just for one game is and I emulate most of the games I do have a system for.

Sonic 1 US was pretty much the beta version. Spikes ignoring hit invulnerability, out of order stage select, missing some graphical effects (parallax scrolling clouds and underwater wavy effects) That said, I don't remember if EU had these fixed or if it was only the Japanese version when they above things were fixed.
If that were the EU Shining Force 2 I had this silly mental image of everyone talking with an accent, adding u's after their o's, and reversing 'er' to 're' at the end of words

So, I recently got a couple things. I got a Dreamcast a while back, but I've been waiting to get pictures of it before posting. I kinda regret buying it, but I would've regretted not buying it, so it works out alright in the end. That and I've had some fun times with it and I'm sure there will be more to come. C'est la vie.
I also got a couple comic books that I mentioned earlier. They literally took two days to ship. Well, I ordered them on the weekend (Batman & Son, Batman The Resurrection of Ra's al Ghul, Batman The Black Glove, Batman R.I.P., Final Crisis, X-Force Angels & Demons, and X-Force Old Ghosts) with my birthday money and they were sent out on Monday (in crazy weather, no less. I looked to see if the weather was the same here as it was where it shipped [elsewhere in Ontario] and lo, it was) and it arrived the Tuesday henceforth while I was at school. Very, very, awesome. Now I'm just trying to get as many Chapters giftcards and/or Money as possible to get more!
Batman & Son was alright, although it was mostly just setting up the character Damian Wayne (and not too well... it seems other writers handle him much better than Morrison does, heh) although the writing itself, aside from the two-dimensional characterization of Damian Wayne, was great. There were lots of clever things going on, and the internal monologue for Batman was great, with lots of commentary and a bit of lighthearted good fun. There was also a genius two panels, where Batman fires off a grappling hook to get a Man-Bat Ninja Commando Cultist, and a pop-art painting in the background says "BLAM!" for it. I thought that was highly interesting.
Also Tony S. Daniel's art is no good. He draws extremely generically, and it is simply 'passable'. Compared to the next book I'm about to talk about, he was lame-o (in part).
The next Batman book I read was 'The Resurrection of Ra's al Ghul'. At its best this book was top of the list Adventure Batman. Seriously, they got a real sort of Indiana Jones style going on. The thing is, there were a multitude of writers and artists. They ranged from great (Paul Dini, Fabien Nicieza for the writers and Don Kramer, Ryan Benjamin for the artists) to not so great (Grant Morrison, Peter Milligan for the writers, Tony S. Daniel, Freddie E. Williams II for the artists) -- I can't give either credit for certain chapters not being as good, since sometimes a great artist with a good sense of pacing a page will help an average writer and sometimes a great writer will help an average artist. I'll need to read more of Morrison's stuff, because I know he has fans, and so far I've read on TPB and a couple issues, which weren't too bad and kind of set things up for the future.
A big complaint about Tony Daniel is this one part where nothing makes sense. You see soles of somebody's shoes but nothing attached in the air, while somebody is behind them and is about to attack? I don't know, it doesn't make sense.
I also read X-Force volumes 1 and 2, and I'll keep it brief -- all the art is great, some characters aren't given as much time to shine (or to kill, I guess) as I'd like but it has gotten me a lot more interested into the Marvel Universe. It is basically X-Men versus The Westboro Baptist Church, although it actually offers some moral depth and portrays the insanely religious people (The Purifiers) as almost sympathetic -- they're so deeply ignorant, I can't help but feel sorry for them.
I want to read more and branch out into other X-stories and the Marvel Universe. Ghost Rider was too cool in Old Ghosts, anyone know some good stories about him?

Hah! Interesting remarks about Tony Daniel's art! I've been a big fan of his stuff since he worked on the original X-Force series. His art has evolved quite a bit since those days. His series "The Tenth" is pretty cool, you may like that, even if his Batman work isn't to your liking. I got the YsF JDK Special. It's phenomenal. I'm obsessed with this version of "Beat of Destruction," and "Descendant of Genos" is totally ruling! I actually won the auction for it months ago, and had intended to add more YJ auction stuff before having it shipped, but I was too busy, and ran out of time.

Hmm, I guess it is different eras of comics for both of us -- you also like Liefield, don't you? And wasn't he big for the original X-Force's conception?

Yeah, I've always loved Liefeld. Admittedly, I usually always at least find some panel to panel continuity mistakes in a number of his books, but his art style always appealed to me. I don't say that just to be different, because I know a lot of people don't like his work. I was there when he was huge, and Image first formed, and it's just stayed with me.

I'm glad I was wrong though~ Anyways~ One intended to simply (online) window shop and ogle at the new Myth album, but ended up somehow buying... this. :'D <3

I'm a little miffed that my shipment hasn't come in. Sure, it said two to four business days, but my last thing took one business day, which is insane, and it was like 6 books from different places. This is one book from one place... Oh well.
C'est la vie. It isn't too long.

Forgot to snap a photo (and my cell phone is dead anyway), but I got Red Dead Redemption: Undead Nightmare and a battery for my PSP (FINALLY!)
I think I didn't have a battery for like a year after my last one died (I had it on the charger, not using it for 3 months).
