In case you don't know, Trillian is a chat program that combines all popular formats into one place. I am a huge fan of it, and cannot suggest it enough. Sadly, Mac support is non-existent, and most people are somewhat weary of using chat apps nowadays. Thankfully, a new version of Trillian has hit, which is entirely browser based. www.trillian.im/Try it out! If you want to add me, just post here.

I used to use Trillian but stopped for a reason I can't remember. I'm using Pidgin now. :D

Some people have got to have Skype though, right? It's wicked, I use it on my PSP, but I only have a couple of contacts.

Trillian rarely crashed for me, but I find it depends on the actual computers stability. This is why the browser version is cool!
Wryd, get your ass online with the IMs. I'm on everyday, along with other cool dudes.

Man, I remember using that program years ago. Never liked it.
Used to use AIM back when it was superior to MSN. Now it really isn't, so MSN only.

The joys of juggling 5 MSN conversations, 2 IRC channels and work Oh wait, I just want excuses to be distracted.

Man, I have 3 random convos going all the time, and I'm always doing tons of other stuff.
Yesterday for example, I had a chat going, while grinding in Dragon Quest V, and while watching Record of Lodoss War.

I do it too but usually the people in chat get neglected. But that's okei because most conversations include a lot of "dead air" time because EVERYONE is doing something other than chatting too.
Or I'm just being selectively ignored.
The only person to ever get annoyed by this was the ex-friend with her unrealistic expectations of the people around her.

I tried Trillian for like, two seconds. It didn't like me. ;; AT ALL. But that was also a couple computers ago. In any case, AIM fulfills my needs, though I do have Skype as well. I'm pretty much 90% of the time on AIM, though. No chat/IMing allowed at work, alas. So I just have my AIM set up to forward texts to my cell phone and do that. HAR HAR!! =P

...I keep meaning to chime in on this thread and forgetting to.
I used to use Trillian a few years ago, but I eventually switched over to Pidgin (when I realized that the voice and audio chat in Trillian Pro doesn't actually work at all for me, which pretty much removed the only advantage it actually had). Both my AIM and MSN accounts are set to only allow people I have added to IM me (to avoid spam, mostly).
I used to have Skype, but I only ever used it to talk to one person, and we don't really talk (at all) anymore so there wasn't much point in keeping it installed. Plus, I tend to be pretty shy, so I communicate a lot better through text than through voice -- so the more traditional IM networks suit me better anyway.
I also just generally tend to feel awkward when people IM me out of the blue "just to chat" without having anything in particular to chat about. If someone has something specific they want to talk about (even if it's just trivial), that's usually fine with me, but I generally don't really enjoy just "making conversation" out of thin air.
I'm also kind of easily distracted (like Wyrdwad), so there aren't a whole lot of people that I talk to regularly over IM.
Despite those things, though, I don't really mind IM'ing, even if I don't always have a lot to say (depending on the topic and the people involved).
