So, it's now April Fools' Day (in EST, anyway), meaning that April Fools' jokes are starting to crop up around the web. This already started out in "Random thought(s) of the moment", but I thought I'd branch it out to its own thread. Google already has some of their jokes up. Tancients already posted their new keyboard for Japanese users: Including a keyboard for emoticons: In addition, Google has a spiffy new Translate For Animals app out for Android phones... and there seems to be something odd with their search times today. So, anyone else see anything especially amusing (or cruel) today?

Results 1 - 10 of about 37,100,000 for cakes [definition]. (0.05 femtogalactic years)
Well played, Googles.
Still an hour to go for my timezone yet, but there were talks of us doing something devious at work. Outside the window we often observe this very pretentious man who drives a BMW convertible stop in the middle of the parking lot, get out of his car, and carefully remove all of the rocks around the spot he wants to park in. Then he parks, and reinspects his spot and admires the car. The guy has a huge hardon for his vehicle, despite it not being a very fancy one. We thought it might be funny to nonchalantly scatter rocks around his car whenever he goes inside, just to see what the guy does. Maybe leave a little note that says "April fools from your stalkers in the sky" or something, haha.
Edit: I just noticed that if you have videos favorited on youtube that are removed, their icon has been replaced with ceilingcat. Might also be true of videos without a preview icon, not sure~!

What the?
I was in the mood for a bit o' Donkey Kong, so I go on ZSNES and I get these funny one liners at the start. I've NEVER noticed it before so it must have been programmed to show on this day? Or am I a weirdo and this is a MASSIVE coincidence? xD
How cool, though!

Got a newsletter from ThinkGeek and ignored it ... until I remembered what day it was today. TG usually has some pretty sweet jokes. There item lineup last year was amazing, and the Tauntaun sleeping back ended up becoming an actual item after the fans demanded it

There are actually several of them -- my favorite so far being "23.00 skidoo". ...Sadly, some part of me kind of wants to play The Fruits of Ire. Not badly enough to will it into existence, though. (And speaking of ThinkGeek's April Fools' jokes, I'm kind of surprised that this didn't already exist somewhere, AFAIK.)

Speaking about April Fool's Day and music, I completely forgot to share this Akira Yamaoka goodness yesterday (no clue what's up with the background they put to this song)

Here's the mass-email they sent out. ---- OverClocked ReMixanator! The Future of Video Game ReMixing Is NOW! Welcome to the Future! ocremix.orgOverClocked ReMix is proud to introduce ReMixanator, a server-side dynamic arrangement generation system using our patented Algorithmic Synthesis System. We've put the ReMixing power in YOUR hands with a simple yet extremely flexible way for you to ReMix Game Music Online (tm). * Love vocals? Add 'em in. Hate vocals? Get rid of 'em! With ReMixanator, it's possible! * With Schala, Terra, AND Ice Cap, ReMixanator already covers 95% of the most-mixed VGM themes! * Express your individuality while honoring game composers - in just 4 clicks!! * 4 genres and 10 options means you'll be mixing well into next year! 3 new sources planned for Q4 2010, including Dr. Wily Stage 1! Abraham Lincoln once said that "...you can't please ALL the people, ALL the time" - but he's gone now... AND that was before ReMixanator! ************************************ How did we do it?? ************************************ ReMixanator generates your customized mix dynamically on our servers. How? The key is our Algorithmic Synthesis System. We used Agile Development and Web 2.0 to leverage XML in a Model-View-Controller framework, resulting in the phattest beats possible using today's technology. Next, we included non-linear, probabilistic pseudo-code that employs native heuristics to ensure that the riffs are hot, the licks are dirty, and the arrangement is neither too liberal nor too conservative. Finally, we modeled the combined neural networks of our judges (who are hereby relieved of their responsibilities) and constructed branching, recursive sub-routines to ensure that no dynamically-generated ReMixes will ever be rejected. No hurt feelings, no slow human processes, no subjectivity whatsoever - ReMixanator makes music FUN again! ************************************ Notice ************************************ Effective immediately, OC ReMix will no longer be accepting submissions from individual artists. All album projects in progress have been canceled. We believe that our recently-released "ReMixanator" arrangement generation software will meet the needs of those craving fresh new video game mixes and make the concept of the arrangement album obsolete. - OverClocked ReMix

IGN.
That Halo Bollywood movie trailer was both dorky and goofy at the same time. :B
I thought it'd be like The Simpsons Bollywood parody where it's all violent and then suddenly, everyone braeks into song and dance. :(
