This is news to me as well. Steam? PC Download? Then this project is being sold commercially then through a publisher?
If that's true then, Wow... "It's a Secret to Everybody." : )
Still, I do hope that an actual patch for Zwei II/Zwei II+ is also going to be available for the folks that already have purchased the game right after the translation project was announced to that end of playing through it with the patch.
Edit: And after re-reading Wyrdwad's post, I'm pretty sure I'm falling for a big joke now, only 4 days after April Fools...

If I had an agreement with a publisher to publish Zwei and Zwei 2, I wouldn't be able to formally confirm until that publisher makes a proper press release via the right channels. You'll just have to leave that to your imagination for now.
As far as the patch thing, it's just going to be one patch, that checks what version you have, updates to the latest version of that game, and then patches the files appropriately. No downloading patches in moon speak or even having to bother clicking a radial if you somehow aren't sure what version you have. (Especially since improper patching of the version would crash the game in various parts!)

Will you have an installer patch like mirror-moon likes to do, or will it just patch already installed data? Gonna have to bust out the DVD either way

When I'm not paying thousands of USD in doctors bills a month I'll probably be able to focus well enough to finish things...
At least the font problems are fully solved.

Mostly waiting on a couple people to have some time to finish the art stuff/tweaking of files. Been filling that time by finishing up my work with Xanadu Next.

LOL, I'm actually one of those "couple people" that tancients is referring to and yes, I've not had much time to work on new graphics these days unfortunately. But I haven't forgotten about this project! The last I was working on it, I was trying to come up with about 4-5 different fonts that would be free to use that I believed would closely match that of various Japanese fonts that were used in many of the graphics such as people and places headers. Here is what I've come up with so far. I'm fairly happy with how Hobo STD looks for the fuller-rounded bubblish looking font and Tooney Loons looks nice for some of the skinnier/taller fonts. Harabara was one that I recently found that I think could work as well for one of them, but that leaves two others that I've not found yet. Here's a little sample of what I'm referring to if you all have suggestions for any of the remaining fonts, namely style 2 and style 4. Full-Size URL: adventym.com/zweii2_uploads/zweiIIfont_selection.jpg-Thomas *Edit* Btw, If anyone is good at Font Identification, I'd be interested to know which font might be used in one of the later graphics. It's labeled as a style "3" on a blue-watered background with the subtext in English reading as "A GERDEN OF LEVIATHAN" -Thomas

Someone should totally give Skyewelse feedback since I'm clueless about fonts. This is really the final bit left before releasing the patch. D:

Basically what I'm looking for is mainly feedback, and to find two more fonts to help match the "likeness" of how the original Japanese character styles look for "Style 2" and "Style 4" in the above diagram and/or something that can be used that is either the original or close-enough font for the Engrish Subtext, "A Gerden of Leviathan". Also, for the fonts I've picked out so far, if anyone finds ones that are even closer to how they are in the original Japanese, then I'm all ears and eyes for those.
If the diagram appears too small to read, please right-click to open your context sensitive menu options and try and see if you can open this image in a new browser window or save it, whichever is preferred.
The only one that I'm definitely set on is HOBO STD which is primarily used in some of the locations and the Tutorial Screen headers.
Also, Tooney Loons does look pretty good as well in my opinion, though that is not set in stone either.
Once these fonts have been solidified and agreed on, I can then start working more on the final graphic edits, which are still plentiful, which is why I'd like to solidify the font decisions first before I begin.
Thanks for your help!

If it helps, I know Doppi's Ys VI PC patch uses the "Tekton Pro" font. That font was highly praised by Adoru, if I recall correctly. I also DID love it. It's good stuff. Hm, to be more precise, they used the "TektonPro-Bold" font. Or so said Doppi.

So long as I can read it without deciphering it, it is a good font.

It's not a bad looking font and it is easy to read. I'll see if it is something that can replace the current ones and/or if it can just be used as a new font for one that I'm still looking for.
If there are any others that come to mind, especially ones that resemble the "style 2" and "style 4" in the diagram above, those are definitely something I'm interested in looking at.
Thanks for your assistance everyone so far!

Hm, to be more precise, they used the "TektonPro-Bold" font. Or so said Doppi. That same font was also used for NightWolve's YsF English patch. It's a good looking font, indeed. Hi guys Texton-pro font wasn't the one used by Nightwolve in his Felghana patch. Infact in Ys VI we used TektonPro bold, while Nightwolve used Hooteroll font. So be care befor sayin' not correct things, please. Btw...if I can help you guys with some fonts I have a very great collection. If you need Tekton or other fonts just say it to me. If I can give you my personal opinion I think that Tooney Lons ( or Looney Toons.. hahaha ), that is to say Style 3 is the best, IMHO. Good luck to all you guys and congratulations for all the hard work you're doin' over the game and thank you in adavance for the forthcoming english patch.

Oh yikes, after seeing the Ys Origin release thread and then finding this thread with a reply from tancients, I thought Christmas came early this year! On a side note, I LOVE the font that Doppiapunta and co. used for the Roda tree in the Ys Origin translation. Its probably more formal than what Skyweise was angling for, but it was very attractive to the eye. Much <3 that you're keeping this project alive!
