hi there i don't know much of this series but i saw the PC remake of the games and heard they were playable with translations. The graphics looked appealing but more so i found the music really uplifting end melodic to give this game a try. which soundtrack would you recommend on the first go in Ys Complete 1 & 2, the original one or the alternative made by someone named "Deuce" ? i think I havent played RPGS for long almost not since SNES days as i think theres too many good games released keep getting released and its hard to dedicate 30-50+ hours just to RPG games. some games ive played though and enjoyed Soul Blazer Secret of Mana Final Fantasy X other than these i mostly enjoy Nintendos own games and currently playing Zelda Twilight Princess & Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door on my Wii

Hello! ...'llo! ...'llo! ...'llo! which soundtrack would you recommend on the first go in Ys Complete 1 & 2, the original one or the alternative made by someone named "Deuce" ? i think I think it comes down to opinion. Some people prefer the original music, but I loved the soundtrack patch and think it added something extra to the game

Regarding the I & II Complete soundtrack, I personally prefer the original music to the alternative, and since that IS what Falcom intended you hear while playing it, I'd recommend keeping it. Most people who prefer Deuce's alternative soundtrack grew up playing the original Ys Book I & II on the TurboGrafx-16 CD, so they have a nostalgic connection to a lot of the alternative music Deuce picked out. If you don't have this nostalgic connection, it's hard to say which you'd personally like better. Actually I prefer the Deuce soundtrack and had never played the TCD Ys before Ys I & II Complete. At most I had seen 10 minutes of someone grinding EXP in Darm Tower when I was in college, but he had the music turned down

Thanks for the welcome, i must admit the Chronicles soundtrack sounds amazing from the 3-4 tunes i just heard but since i do have a PSP i think i will try seeing if i can find it cheap at some point for that
yes i must admit the fighting system sounds a bit awkward and maybe unsatisfying compared to hack & slash the series seems to get later but im willing to give the 3rd game a try aswell if i get hold of it.
But about the alternative soundtrack, is it possible to delete it easily if i dont like it or do i have to uninstall everything again? is there some sort of function to toggle between the soundtracks?
installing the game was a bit of a chore as i had to get applocale and install japanese language on my PC, it seems to wrok flawless so far without even using applocale though

So far ive played it for a couple of hours and its actually growing on me, the bumping system does actually work pretty well although i would prefer hack&slash anyday. But after a couple of levelling up it does fell pretty good, especially with the health regenerating system. Also the fight system really does eliminate the teadiousness by bashing buttons to level up, with the bumping system the levelling up is more streamlined and acts as an part to just use when going from city to city rather than giving you the fell of going on and on fighting enemies to afford things/strengthen up. Thanks for the advice on how to add/delete the alternative soundtrack i didn't really think of that solution, because tinkering with files i feared id make the game unstable of some sort As for the soundtracks, ive made some save files so far from the first 3 towns and the mountain shrine as they have different music there, all of them plus the field music aswell. I must say i so far prefer the original soundtrack, it is much more bold in its sound in my opinion and isnt as demanding as the alternative one, i found especially the town parts and and Saras shop music really good and laid back, the alternative has a pretty good field music aswell but so far i think the complete soundtrack fits in better, so im opting for that one

Ahoy there!
I'm kind of glad that they moved away from the bump system eventually, but for the games that have it, it seems to be a pretty fresh and fun way of doing things in an action RPG -- IMO, anyway.
