Hello everyone. I am Kuro-chan. I am also known as Kuro-chan... Kuro-chan... And my secret nickname is also... Kuro-chan. A little bit about my interest in Ys. I remember seeing and getting Ys III for SNES in the mid-90's and was rather unimpressed with it. Still, the game itself stuck in my head. Later, I found the anime series disc 1 and managed to obtain. I watched it and found myself somewhere in-between interested and not sure if I wanted to continue. I did pick up the second and third discs. I don't regret that for a minute, especially the third disc. I rather enjoyed the twist that happened in the third disc. What got my interests in the series was getting Ys VI for PS2 and later Ys I and II for Virtual Console (Wii) and playing through them. Both these games kept me very interested in the series. I later got the DS Version of I & II, but... Something about it felt lacking. Anyhow, hello!

Not to mention Felghana also has an English patch, which is quite excellent for those who would like to play games in English. Origin will always be my fave, though. Can't recommend that one enough! So like welcome, Kuro of Chan, to this whimsical place of stuff!

Sounds like a good plan.
Next challenge: Getting it... And getting it to work. I have two comps: An old Pentium 3 (Which I am on and I have to be careful around here because too many youtube video links at once tends to crash it) and my newer comp with XP on it. We'll just have to see which one the games work on.

And there are translation patches for the games in question here?
Another Question: I have Ys6 for PS2. Is it necessary to pick up the PC version as well? I heard there are quite a few things for the PS2 version which do not come with the PC version.

Already have 2 controllers ^_^ And they both work, even on my old clunker computer. And since I have only played Ys with controllers, it is what I am used to. The same applies to older FPS games like Doom. I cannot get used to a controller because I am too used to a keyboard.
I was wondering: Are there any fan made Ys games out there?

Okay... That does it.
You start an Ys1 fan based remake project then. LOL XD

The Taito remakes could almost be considered fan-games, lol.

*nod nod* Valid points. I guess the objective behind my questioning was if "fans" ever made one. I see fans here, for sure.

Much-belated welcome to ye, Kuro-chan.
We've been considering making an Ys dating sim game. Except it has a twist. Dogi's path is the only one that doesn't end with the partner getting dumped unceremoniously by Adol. :V

Could be worse... or more interesting. Could have Dogi ending up with Adol! ^_^;;;

Simple: Adol is trying to save lives.
If Adol picked one woman, than all the others would be after her throat.

Welcome Kuro-chan ! I'm making a little Ys game with RPG Maker XP, but I don't know when I will finish it... ( I haven't touched it since 2 or 3 month x) ) and if I will share it because in a first hand all the messages are in French and my English isn't good enough for translate it and in an other hand I don't know if it is compatible with others computers...

Oh man, I have so many memories of RMXP. RM2K was my portal into game design, and although I didn't actually start getting good ideas until my latter years using RMXP, it was still fun as hell to play around with them. (I went from RM2K->2K3->XP, don't like VX much though)
Ghis: Je veut tu aider avec le projet! Puis-je? S'il vous plaît? Je sais un peu de français... mais je veut aider! D:

Hehe. I seem to have RM2K and RM2K3. I think I was working on a RM2K game of my own called Thunder Sabre some years back. I need to pull it up some day and see if I can salvage it. There was quite a bit of work done on it, including several quests.

Before RMXP I have used RM2K and RM2K3 like you, but all my "project" didn't see some end . For the moment, in my Ys (I didn't find a title yet ), there are 5 or 6 hours of playing time and it isn't finished yet ^^. A little present for you... I'm using the black space on top of the screen for display Adol's actual objective, it's not the title
