Indeed! Surely there is something in Falcom's catalogue that is, in your eyes, below par!

Gee, I wonder which title I should mention. :B

I'd have to say Ys VI. Not a BAD game, but not really good. I love what Konami did with it, and I love what JDK contributed to it, buuut... that's really all there is to it. Now if you were talking about shoddy ports, etc... I think I could name a few.

I haven't played all of the Falcom catalog, but I can't think of stuff outside of their very old games that aren't really too fun to play. Wasn't too fond of Brandish, either.. Interesting idea but flawed execution. Are we counting ports by other companies 'cause that'd open up the doors to lost of complaining ;P
I don't dislike Napishtim as a whole, but it has some weak points. The music's instrumentation is way too midi and ruins some otherwise great compositions. Oh, and the final boss is dull & boring.

I'd like to keep it to Falcom-made titles since I know once we start throwing in the other companies, there will be no end to the rage. XD

Brandish for its immense rigidness just rubs me the wrong way. Sold the game, kept the soundtracks.
Also, I'm not as much of a fan of Xanadu Next as most here. I don't dislike it or anything (I almost beat it at least, which is more than I can say for Brandish), it just doesn't grab me as much as the others.
There's no single company whose entire output I love though, but Falcom comes the closest.

Brandish at first. But I've grown to love it.
So literally NONE.

So far my Falcom experience is quite limited. Ys series only and not even all games from it (just I, II, MotS, III, V, VI i think - hopefully Origin will join the group soon too) and probably will stay at same limits for awhile not knowing which Falcom games are available in English and platforms I have. And with my current skills I don't think I ll dive in any other Japanese game yet, still haven't finished Ys V - I really should take a hold of myself and do it already, so close so close And then to the main point ey. Below the par? I would say Ys VI kind of was below the par for me. Not saying it was a bad game or anything (in fact never played any bad Falcom game). For some reason it felt quite boring (the ultimate boringness was the final boss) and the music didn't really impress me (with a few exceptions). There are still good points in it e.g. I really liked opening, Ernst, Dogis appearance etc. It is ok/good game, but just failed to meet my expections (maybe I had a bit too high ones there) Ys I&II DS, I think I would say it being one below the par if I played it again. But the first time I played it, it wasn't so 'bad' at all. A bit frustrating at some points - Ys II labyrinth dungeons Ys V, so far I have really liked it even if it is a bit different. Ok, maybe the one reason I have liked it so much is because I get to appreciate the gameplay parts more after slowly slowly reading and trying to understand the text parts - you never know xD Well, it has been unbelievingly easy.. maybe Expert would have been a better choice.. Thats all for now, hopefully I ll soon be able to say "That wasn't a bad game either" about other Falcom games p.s. sorry if theres something wrong or other crap, not at my best now
