...hi; I'm a new user to these forums.
I've heard of Falcom's works and there contributions to not onle JRPGs, but RPGs as a whole, and it really is painful how not many people have even heard of them, let alone play their games; not to mention the majority of the games that have actually seen the light of day on foreign shores have had terrible tranlsations.
...oh yeah, I forgot; I'm 17, I live in Irving, Texas, I just graduated high school, and I start college at DeVry University on July 5th. I'm going to be majoring in Game and Simulation Programming.
Hey, everyone has their beginnings! Don't be ashamed of being new! (Well, that's assuming you are ashamed...)
I assume you graduated early? We don't have that luxury available here, so I'm still in high school... actually, you're only like 3 months older than me, haha.
It's certainly depressing that few Falcom games get localized, but I sucked it up and played a few of their games in the original Japanese, despite having very little knowledge (I can read kana well enough, but I know very little kanji). However... XSEED is giving us a hell of a treat with their licensing deal, and I'm certainly ecstatic to be able to play my favorite RPG ever in English! Seven was already absolutely amazing without counting the plot details and dialogue, so I really want the version I can fully understand!
We have a few other Texans, namely Floofy, who is one of the nicest people I've ever met, and an extremely devout Falcom fan. So you'll probably feel quite at home here!
In any case... welcome to the board, enjoy your stay, and I hope we get along splendidly! (I'd love to talk to you more sometime, I have a knack for finding others my age with similar interests, oddly enough!)
