I really do like it, I'm just not sure it flows quite as well with the later line "Lloyd and his friends will challenge the light and darkness of 'whatever we call the city'"
And no, I haven't been to Vegas, yet.

Yeah, there is a lot you can do with it. Not coincidentally, it's the exact same character that's getting me stuck on Tio's staff. Anyhow, in a somewhat related note, it's occurred to me that I've been posting a ton of translations on Gamefaqs without posting them here. By way of apology, in addition to a repost (with cleaning up) of all the big stuff I've already done, have a very hot off the presses translation of the newest updates Falcom just made to the website before I post it over there. Translations of some things (including Crossbell's nickname) provisional for the time being. I'm generally sure of these translations but if anyone spots any subtleties that I missed (or I just goofed somewhere big time) let me know. Story: Zemuria Continent, western area. Crossbell State. Once a site of violent territorial disputes between the Empire and Republic, now it has emerged as a prominent center of trade and financing and the city has experienced massive prosperity and urban growth. Tension between the Empire and Republic are mounting, taking shape in unseen ways. Factions inclined towards one power or the other have led to ugly political strife and corruption, reflected in the underside of society with the mafia and foreign crime organizations who also struggle against one another. In this setting, within the Crossbell Police that the people have lost faith in, four youths are gathering. The rookie police investigator, Lloyd Bannings. The granddaughter of Crossbell's Mayor, Elie MacDowell The young girl with the Magic Orbal Staff, Tio Plato. The woman-chasing former guard, Randy Orlando. Assigned to the new Special Support Section, they will join together to confront this reality. This is the story of the youths who will get over the barrier, the story of the people who live in the city between light and darkness. Characters:Crossbell Police Department (Special Support Section):Lloyd Bannings: Main character, a rookie member of the Crossbell Police Force. Has been living abroad since his older brother (a police investigator) died three years ago. Returns to Crossbell having recieved top grades at the police academy. Honest and straightforward and zealously opposes injustice and violence. Fights with tonfas and specializes in disabling opponents. Elie MacDowell: The granddaughter of Crossbell's mayor. Questioning the state of affairs iwith the strife caused by the competing Imperial and Republic factions, she has been studying abroad and aspires to join the CPD. Sociable and with an honors student type personality, marksmanship is a hobby of hers and she's very good at it. Tio Plato: A girl attached to the Epstein Foundation, which leads the continent in technological prowess. She has been transferred to the CPD to conduct field tests on the newly designed 'Magic Orbal Staff'. Extemely cool of speech and blunt of manner but it's not because she doesn't particularly like people. Her staff grants her extremely powerful magical attacks and it can change form in response to various situations. Randy Orlando: Formerly attached to the Crossbell Guardian Force but forced to leave as a result of his behavior towards women. Flirts indiscriminately but he occasionally shows signs of being a trustworthy individual and is the big brother of the group. Tough in a fight and wields the powerful Stun Halberd. Sergei Lou: Head of the SSS Lloyd and the others are attached to. Capable but with many bad habits, was demoted from the higher ranks and placed in charge of the newly-established SSS. Has a hands-off attitude and provides minimal advice and support to Lloyd and the others. I'm not entirely sure I've read the middle section right in case anyone wants to correct me.Crossbell Police Department (Other):Inspector Dudley: An inspector belonging to the elite Criminal Investigations department. Capable and cool-headed, he handles many crisis situations for the state. He is extremely skeptical of the new SSS which Lloyd and the others belong to. As befitting a member of the elite intellectual faction, he fights with a military-grade Orbal Pistol. Fran Seeker: A policewoman who works at the reception desk at headquarters. Is responsible for backing up the Special Support Section, via the Orbal Network she handles communication and information processing. The younger sister of Noel, who she greatly admires. The Japanese is needlessly emphatic on that last point. Noel Seeker: A female member of the Crossbell Guardian Force which handles the defense of the state. Possessing exceptional agility and combat prowess, is the equivalent of a Master Sargeant. Following a certain incident, gets to know Lloyd and the others and works closely with them. Is extremely skilled with the dual submachineguns she wields as a member of the CGF. I'll skip Wald and Wazy since Floofy already did themArc en Ciel:Ilya Platiere: The top star of the magnificent troupe Arc en Ciel. With her passionate dancing and incredible acting ability she has captured the hearts of fans who call her the Dancing Princess of Flames. She is a celebrity who attracts attention even from the neighboring countries. Lively, pushy and indifferent to everything but the theatre. Rixia Mao: The newest performer of the theatrical troupe Arc en Ciel, having only just joined. Originally a traveller, by chance Ilya discovered her talent and forcibly dragged her into the troupe. Is playing a major role in the newest production. Is the type of person who always does her best and bears up under Ilya's hard training without complaint. As I mentioned on Gamefaqs, I'd kill to see the scene where Rixia gets 'recruited'.Bracers Guild:Arios MacLaine: The highest A-ranked member of the Crossbell branch of the Bracers Guild. With incredible swordsmanship and problem-solving abilities he is looked up to as a hero by the people of Crossbell, especially when compared to the worhtless police. Has fully mastered the Hachiha Ittou style and an application to raise his rank to S is pending. Mafia:Chairman Marconi: The short, fat and bald director of the Mafia's Revache Company. He has aristocratic tastes but a low character and prefers vulgar and ostentatious fashions. Representative Hartman of the Imperial faction is an old friend of his. While he may project a humorous appearance, he is really cruel and merciless. Garcia Rossi: The leading henchman of the Mafia's Revache Company. He is a former mercenary and is an expert in hand to hand combat and was called the Killing Bear for all the enemies he buried with his overwhelming strength. In order to oppose the invasion of the hostile Black Moon he is increasing the Mafia's fighting potential. Heiyue (Black Moon):Cao Lee: The young section head of the Heiyue (Black Moon) Trade Company headquartered in Crossbell's Waterfront Area. The gigantic Heiyue crime organization originates in the Republic and has dispached him to wrest control of Crossbell's underworld from the Revache Company. A sharp and intellectual person, he will cooparate with the police as it suits him. Yin: A mysterious demon of a man said to be one of the Republic's eastern immigrants, known as a legendary assassin. With his body concealed by black clothes and his face covered in a mask, nobody knows his real appearance. Uses superior martial arts skills and dark arts and is the most feared assassin in the underworld. At this time, he has been hired by Cao to crush the Revache Company's headquarters. Well, despite the teasing name he appears to be right handed so we can probably assume this isn't Lowe returning (yet at least). That being said, in the trailer you can see him performing an S-Break that looks suspiciously similar to Bleublanc's...Other:KeA: A naive young girl Lloyd and the others come to take care of. Still cheerful despite losing her memories. Friendly and filled with curiosity, all the members of the SSS are attached to her. Possesses knowledge nobody else has and can appear quite mysterious. <To be continued>

World:
Crossbell City: Has a lively commercial district, a financial and business district and an entertainment district with theatres and casinos but the residential areas inhabited by the average citizens have poor social order and the old town is split into a number of side districts and alleys. Despite the tension caused by its location between two major powers, people, goods and Mira constantly flow through this busy centrally located city. Due to the visible presence of the mafia, smuggling, Mira laundering and other illegal activities, it has been called the Wicked Capital. With the cooperation of the Epstein Foundation a trial Orbal Network has recently been installed and spreads through a vast geofront.
Central Square: Located at the center of the city, a place where numerous people and Orbal Cars pass through. Lined with department stores containing various shops and restaurants, as well as weapon and Orbal stores containing the latest goods.
Crossbell Station: The gate through which many people arrive in Crossbell via the continent-spanning railroad. The station is symbolic of Crossbell, whose economy is supported by foreign trade. Inspectors from the militaries of the Empire and Republic have permanent stations here.
Governmental District: Region containing the offices of the mayor and other government officials. For many years there has been strife between different factions in the government. Crossbell's police are also headquartered in this district.
Waterfront Area: A business district containing many offices, including the IBC and the Crossbell News. Also contains a large park with a view of Elm Lake where people go to relax. Facing the park from the opposite shore is a fancy resort that can be reached by water taxi.
Downtown: A declining region left behind by the city's development. Trade in illegal goods thrives in the shops that dot the district and conflict continues between two gangs.
Entertainment District: Owing to the casinos and high-class hotels, this bustling pleasure quarter attracts many tourists. Arc en Ciel performs at the theatre here and is known as the best troupe in the continent. Occasionally their new productions are opened to the public, an event eagerly anticipated by the populace.
East Street: An exotic street made up in the eastern style. One can enjoy genuine eastern cooking in the many street stalls and inns. The young aces of the local branch of the Bracers Guild meet here.
West Street: A street containing many residential apartment buildings. The many bakeries, cafes and general stores provide an at-home feeling. Lloyd was born and raised here.
Armorica Village: A village in the northeast which engages in farming and beekeeping. Boasts ancient roadways, abundant water, vast flower gardens and beautiful scenery. People tired of the bustle of the city come here to relax so the village has a thriving tourism industry. It can be reached from the city in two hours by Orbal Bus.
Mainz: A village in the mountainous northwest where Sepith is mined. Crossbell has long been famous for the high quality of Sepith that it produced. In recent years its reputation has been overshadowed by Crossbell's emergence as a trading power. Despite output decreasing, there are still many buyers from foreign countries who come here to purchase Sepith directly from the source.
Keywords:
Crossbell State: An autonomous state in the western part of the Zemuria Continent. It sits between the Erebonian Empire and the Republic of Calvard on the site of former violent territorial disputes and became an independent state seventy years ago. The heart of the state, Crossbell City, has become the leading trading center of the continent, experiencing great urban growth. It has also become a relay point for the railroad and airship networks linking the Empire and Republic. Tensions had increased over the past several years as the major powers conducted large-scale military exercises, though they have been greatly reduced since Liberl assisted in the creation of a treaty two years ago. As a result, people and money have flowed into Crossbell, bringing with them skyscrapers, Orbal Cars, an Orbal Power Network and a new infrastructure to support them.
Crossbell Police Department: As an autonomous state without an army, the state police mainly serve to maintain the peace in the city. There is a great deal of political tension between pro-Empire and pro-Republic factions, numerous incidents of corruption, links between politicians and the mafia as well as maneuvering by groups of foreigners. With the police unable to deal with the situation, the citizens have lost faith in them and turned to the popular Bracers Guild. In order to attempt to restore public trust in the police, the Special Support Section has recently been established.
Special Support Section: A brand-new division within the police that Lloyd and the others have been assigned to. In order to counter the popularity of the Bracers, the division is accepting any request from anyone looking for support. Within the police they are treated as career dead-ends and wannabe Bracers. Because of this, only the newest recruits are invited to become members.
Orbment: A general term for a machine capable of harnessing the mysterious 'Orbal' energy. The Orbal Revolution spread across the entire continent fifty years ago and this power is employed in all aspects of life from lighting to communication to transportation and weaponry, rapidly raising the level of clvilization throughout the land. One effect of Orbal technology was the discovery of Arts (magic). The small devices that permit the use of these powers are called Tactical Orbments.
Enigma: The name given to the fifth-generation Tactical Orbment recently announced by the Epstein Foundation. In addition to enabling the use of many brand new Arts, a built-in communication function allows these small devices to be used as portable communicators. Because this function requires expensive relay terminals to function properly, Engima has not yet been widely adopted. The Foundation has employed the Crossbell Police Department and the Bracers Guild to help test the system.
Epstein Foundation: A foundation continuing the work of the genius Orbal scholar Professor C. Epstein. Serves as both a research institution and manufacturer and its communication and data processing divisions are particuarly renowned. The sole manufacturer of the Tactical Orbments that allow Arts to be used, they are now developing a new weapon, the 'Magic Orbal Staff'.
Orbal Network Project: An innovative data network developed by the Epstein Foundation. By connecting computer terminals via Orbal cable, it is possible for vast quantities of information to be exchanged. Originally Liberl's Zeiss Central Factory was going to develop the network with the Foundation, however with an offer of funding from the IBC, a full field trial has begun in Crossbell City.
Geofront: A vast underground space containing Crossbell City's infrastructure. It began twenty years ago as a planned series of waterworks, sewers and trash disposal systems. Recently it has been expanded with Orbal cable and all sorts of machinery. However, the city authorities do not pay close attention to it and dangerous monsters now roam its walkways.
IBC: The International Bank of Crossbell. As well as serving as a vast bank handling assets from throughout the continent, it has been a major source of international loans for many years. Aside from investment activities and financial development it is involved in other things like managing a theme park and has provided an enormous amount of money to the Epstein Foundation for the development of their Orbal Network.
Saber Vipers: One of the delinquent gangs that gather in downtown Crossbell. Its head is Wald Wales and its members include many hot-blooded and belligerent youths. Every day they clash with the Testaments. Their headquarters is Ignis, an unused garage that has been converted into a live music bar.
Testaments: The other delinquent gang that gathers in downtown Crossbell. They affect the style of an intellectual faction and are lead by the mysterious and charismatic Lazy Hemisphere. In some ways the gang appears styled after a religion. Their headquarters is Trinity, a pool bar where one can drink fancy cocktails and play billiards.
Arc en Ciel: A performance troupe that has a theatre in the Entertainment District dedicated solely for their use. Known for their magnificent stage settings and acrobatic performances, in recent years the name of their top star Ilya Platiere (known as the Dancing Princess of Flames) has become famous with fans in all the surrounding countries. They are preparing a public exhibit of their new production but have been recieving threatening letters lately...
Bracers Guild: An organization dedicated to preserving peace and protecting the safety of the common people. With branches throughout the Zemuria Continent, they have a not-substantial influence. Due to international factors affecting the city, the Crossbell branch attracts many superior individuals. Among them is the highest A ranked Bracer, known as the Master Swordsman of Wind, who has tremendous support from the populace.
Liberl Calamity: An unusual incident occuring in the Liberl Kingdom in the southwestern part of the Zemuria Continent. A giant floating city appeared in the skies over Lake Valeria, causing a strange stopping of all Orbal power throughout the Kingdom which lasted a month. The situation was resolved due to the efforts of the army and the Bracers Guild but it is said that behind this incident was the mysterious organization Ouroboros.
Revache Company: A large-scale Mafia organization that controls Crossbell's underworld. It ammassed a fortune in smuggling during the period when Crossbell was a territory disputed over by the Empire and Republic. Nowadays it smuggles weapons, trades in stolen goods, engages in Mira laundering and other forms of illegal business. Closely linked to influential politicians and as a result their affairs are rarely investigated and when they are, anyone arrested is released almost immediately.
Heiyue Trading Company: An eastern-styled trading company located in the waterfront business district. Despite appearing legitimate on its face, the truth is that it is a branch of the Black Moon criminal organization from the Republic and its members are all martial arts experts. Led by their young leader Cao, the organization has begun to seize control of Crossbell's underworld from the Mafia.

System:
Attack Encounter:
By pressing the attack button on the field, your lead character will strike the enemy. Striking the enemy from behind will stun the enemy, granting the extremely advantageous Surprise Attack bonus to the player. You can similarly be put at a disadvantage if the enemy approaches you from behind. Various other triggers exist. If there is a great difference between your level and the enemy, you can completely defeat them simply by striking from the field. Sepith can be gathered from the field with ease.
It doesn't mention experience or items, though one presumes that if you're strong enough to wipe something out from the field alone they probably aren't going to give much EXP anyways.
New Crafts:
Power Smash (Randy): Swings the Stun Halberd with all his might. Can delay enemy actions.
Analyzer (Tio): Locates an enemys weak spot. For a time, target becomes weaker.
New S-Crafts:
Tiger Charge (Lloyd): Overwhelms the enemy with a series of attacks like a fierce tiger. Can seal techniques.
Aura Rain (Elie): Healing rain restores the HP of all allies in range. Works on allies who can't currently fight.
Combo Crafts:
Mighty techniques that consume 100 CP from both characters involved. Can be obtained through specific events and other means.
I'm calling it now: Wald and Wazy have a Combo Craft that requires you to use them together at some story point, forcing them to admit that their gang rivalry is meaningless in the grand scheme of things. Crying and hugging optional.
Support Crafts:
When your party size goes over four, the extra characters automatically become Support Members. When their picture appears in the AT Bar, a special attack or other form of assistance becomes available to assist the active party.
Support Request:
As members of the Special Suppot Section, Lloyd and co will reiceve requests for help from the citizens. Taking on these requests raises your Police Investigator rank.
Illegal Parking Control: Crossbell is experiencing a great deal of illegal parking among its Orbal Cars. Work with the crime prevention division to uncover the reason behind it.
Search for the Stalker: A mysterious stalker has been troubling Ilya for the past few days. Is it an overly enthusiastic fan or is it something more?
After completing a request you can use a computer terminal to report back to HQ and gain Detective Points. Raising rank gets you more salary and bonus items. There are also special requests that can be made available through various means such as clearing other events or talking to the right people at the right time.
Minigames:
The popular minigames from the pervious games such as cooking, fishing and the casino return! There are many things to do besides completing the main story, such as completing the cooking notebook and reaching the highest fishing grade.
Objective: Complete the recipies! Once you have a recipe and all the ingredients, you can select a character and start cooking! The outcome can change each time you cook. Make new discoveries in both great success and strange results.
I'll bet even the worst result of Tio or Randy trying to cook still turns out better than anything Estelle does...
Amusement time between adventures! Once you have a rod and bait, find a fishing hole and start angling! Succeed with carefully timed button presses! Your catches are recorded in the fisher's notebook. Meet the requirements to attain a higher grade and you will be rewarded.

Wait, enemy encounters that are determined by how you approach an enemy, and enemies that are insta-killed by a huge gap in your levels?! Are you sure you're not talking about EarthBound?!

Ah, there we go. Thanks! Why do so many things default to Shift-JIS, yet text editors and browsers never do? I'll never understand that! For that last line, I'd go with something like, "Form new bonds with new characters on a new stage in this delicately-crafted world!" Not literal, but it gets the meaning across pretty well, I think. -Tom Yotaka, This line should be translated like this: New bonds woven on a new stage in an intricately crafted world setting.Wyrdwad, You have used the word "new" too many times in your translation above and the sentence structure is flimsy. As a pointer, DO NOT use the word "delicately" in a situation like this. You have to translate things in a way that grabs the readers' attention. I am telling you this because I do this for a living and if you slap something like that on a product that is going commercial, you are going to have an outcry arising from people who read your work. Make your stuff sharp! (No flaming intended, just some constructive criticism from one translator to another.) Also, the word has been going around for a while that XSEED has chosen to take on the Sora no Kiseki games. Are you sure your company has the skills and resources to translate those games? Of all the companies out there, I would have never imagined it would be XSEED to be the one to pick them up. I figured it would have been someone else like NISA since your company had stated numerous times that they did not have the ability for such a massive undertaking. I know you are all enjoying the limelight from the Falcom partnership, but you guys sound like you have bitten off a little more than you can chew. That is just my observation. Anyway, I salute you in your endeavor. ----- One last thing though, Wyrdwad. I wanted to apologize since I pressed a few of your buttons in the "Buying used games is evil (apparently)" thread. I was not trying to "flame" you, but I do want you to understand that the majority of this world is poor. If we were living in an ideal world and we all had good paying jobs and extra cash on hand, I would totally agree with the idea of buying new. However, the reason why it is OK to buy used is because the courts around the world have told not only the game industry, but another number of industries as well to basically "shove it" time and time again. I was living in Japan at the time that suit was filed by several companies in the game industry and they lost. I think most people do not consider the ramifications of what a disaster that would have become if these companies had succeeded. If used games had become illegal, then junk would have piled up all over the place, unable to be transferred from one owner to another, and that is just the beginning. What about copyright laws? Should they suddenly become forever like Disney wants? How about patents? Should they be forever, too? All of these would have done one thing and that is hurt the average person (and these things tend to happen in a domino effect once "corporate greed" gets involved and this is one of the main reasons why our world is in such a terrible economic downturn). Let us imagine if just these 3 things happened. That would mean the following: 1. The average person would have to pay more for most of their big purchases like a home, car, electronics, software, etc., which, of course, they could not easily if ever afford. 2. No more access to old classical written works without a price. 3. No more generic drugs for middle-class and poor who cannot afford name brand ones. This would literally spell disaster for nearly everyone with the exception of a select few. Anyway, enough said and seriously, no flaming intended, just strong opinions.

Actually, I have played all three Ar Tonelico games in Japanese, not in English of course because I can read the Japanese just fine. Anyway, I stated "like NISA" if you read correctly, but I guess you did not. I could have easily said Atlus or any other localization company. I just brought up NISA as an example because their output for games and such per year is tremendous and they have the resources to do it. I just asked the question about Sora no Kiseki because I have noticed a couple people from XSEED complaining about FC and it is only the first game of three and SC is like twice that size. It does make one wonder, however, if only one of these games will see the light of day in English. That has seemed to be the initial fear over the years from a number of people at RPGamer. I mean if XSEED does not have the resources to do SC then are American gamers going to ever see Zero no Kiseki in English? Falcom says that is their biggest game yet. Like I said, it is just an observation.

Actually, I have played all three Ar Tonelico games in Japanese, not in English of course because I can read the Japanese just fine. Exactly, you used NISA as an example. See, I can read just fine, thank you very much. And they've already proved with their subpar localisations of the Ar Tonelico games that they aren't up for the job of doing the Sora games, whether they have the 'resources' to do it or not (the lack of much editing in AT2 makes you question whether they really do have the resources for it). So I wouldn't want them or any company similar to them in that respect going anywhere near them. Atlus I couldn't say, the only game of theirs I own is Demon's Souls.

Atlus gave us Gorvan, enough said. Also, there's a play report up for the game now. Most of it is stuff we already know, plus gushing over how nice everything is. The new stuff: Everyone's Enigma (the new Orbment) has a unique strap. Enemies recover quickly from hitting them via the Attack Encounter system so you have to move quickly to take advantage of the bonuses. Counter attacks have been added, applying to you and the enemy. If a normal attack misses you and the enemy is within range of your attack you'll attack back (or vice versa). Team Rush is a special AT bonus distinct from Combo/Support Crafts. If you get it, all your characters surround the enemy and attack together.

Strangely enough, I'm looking forward to this now! Granted, it'll be a while before I can play it, but the game mechanics mean it's going to be one such RPG I'll enjoy! ...that's not to say I put the story at the backseat, but rather that it'll help me enjoy it more.

Wow, Fran is... perky. And Randy is very up front with his hobbies. Actually, Lloyd's whole introduction to the team is cool. Can't wait to see the rest of it.
Also, I suppose it's not surprising the standard battle BGM is a remixed version of Get Over the Barrier though I'd kind of figured it for a boss tune. Like the new ring-based menu layout for the battle system.
I'm really excited to see what kinds of twists they pull on us this time.
Three more weeks...
Oh yeah, there's also new stuff fron Dengeki. Highlights include Estelle and a look at how your choices affect cutscenes and can influence the Combo Crafts you unlock.

Hey everyone, my wife wants to order Zero no Kiseki from a U.S. based import game store since she feels that the current yen exchange rate is too low and would be extra expensive if we were to order from Falcom directly this time around. So far, we've found a price of $69.99 from HyperGameAction.
Not sure how much shipping would be yet, but I was wondering if anyone else had seen a better or comparable price to that that is a U.S. based importer?

Regualr edition I assume? A quick check suggests that it's the lowest price out there (of US-based importers) before shipping is added in. If you want to get picky though, before shipping is factored in ordering direct from Falcom is slightly cheaper. With the current exchange rate, you're looking at $69.30 based on the price on the page. Falcom has to recalculate for international shipping (and drop out local taxes) so the cost for the game itself is likely to be lower but the shipping will add a fair bit on top of that. Can't give you an exact figure since my order was recalculated from the LE and I have a bunch of other stuff coming with it so I can't guess what the shipping costs for this game alone would be. For reference though, they dropped almost a thousand yen off the cost of the game itself. God, stop making me hype the game so much, guys. *Subliminally makes you hype the game more*

I plan on ordering it from Play-Asia before my coupon expires, so I only have a week to scrounge the money ($67.80 with the coupon, I think). But there's no way I'm passing up on it! Plus, I got this coupon from ordering Alternative Saga, which somehow makes me want to order Zero with it even more, haha.
Sucks that PA doesn't stock the new JDK album though, you have no idea how much I'd love to order both at once.
I want to stick Cao's glasses on Lloyd... though that probably wouldn't protect him from me.

I'd be more worried about protecting you from Cao if you stole his glasses. You might find yourself taking a walk in the lake with some new cement shoes. Anyhow, update time! CharactersCecile Neues A young woman who used to live in the same apartment as Lloyd and served as a surrogate older sister to him. Now serving as the chief nurse at St. Ursula's Hospital on the outskirts of town. While normally reliable, she can sometimes seem like a massive airhead. She is an old friend of Ilya's and was engaged to Lloyd's older brother who died three years ago in the line of duty. SystemRemodelling and Exchange In Crossbell's Downtown, Guillaume's Factory can enhance Lloyd and co's weapons and armor. By bringing the right materials and enough Mira, you can obtain more powerful equipment than can be bought in ordinary stores. In addition to simply raising the basic stats, a variety of extra abilities can be added through modification. Also in Crossbell's Downtown is Nine Vally, a shop where items can be exchanged. You can exchange goods for Quartz, equipment and otherwise unobtainable rare items. I note that in one of the accompanying screenshots we see that what I assume to be Tio's initial weapon is named Euclid. I wonder if by any chance she has an advanced weapon named Dirac that teaches a Craft that sucks your enemies into a space capable of only being described through abstract mathematics. WorldSaint Ursula Medical College A medical school constructed on the shore of Elm Lake in southern Crossbell State for the purpose of researching new methods of treatment. Through its large attached hospital, it handles both citizens and foreigners with serious illnesses and injuries. Can be conveniently reached from the city in only thirty minutes by Orbal Bus. Michelam Resort A recreational area on the opposite shore of Elm Lake, formerly the site of vacation homes of the rich and famous. In recent years, the IBC has developed it into a resort hotel, arcade and giant theme park which has become a major attraction. It can be reached via water taxis leaving from Crossbell's waterfront. So does this mean that when we get tired of wasting time in the casino we can waste time on the ferris wheel and in the arcades? Now there's an idea, sticking Falcom games in for Lloyd and the others can play. Say, the first stage of Star Trader or all of Romancia.
