Anybody here used or know of any service that will recieve an order from Amazon Japan, then ship it to the US? I just tried to buy some of the Sora no Kiseki drama CDs to find that they'd only ship some of them, the others being classified (for god knows what reason) as computer software which is apparently on their 'not for export' list. Dunno why, Falcom does it directly all the time.
Anyhow, wondering if anyone here is aware of a service that would work around that hurdle and roughly how much it woud cost. Thanks.

I believe some folks here use Crescent Shop. www.crescent-shop.com/They will apparently be re-opening on September 28th. Also, I think Falcom can/chooses to ship their software and such internationally because the products are their own. With Amazon Japan, I think there are a bunch of copyright laws and crap (not entirely sure what) that prevent them from doing so. It's like how Amazon.com won't ship certain games and other merchandise to Canada. >_> LIKE THE Ys SEVEN PREMIUM EDITION. But that's okei because Amazon.ca and local stores carried it anyway. :B

Thanks! I'll check it out when it reopens. Wonder if they'll work with the individual sellers for things Amazon doesn't have in stock directly...

If you're ordering from Amazon directly, I'd go with Tenso rather than Crescent Shop. Reason being their charges are pretty negligible (compared to Crescent's which are pretty steep for buying off Japanese sites) because you order the item yourself off Amazon and use the forwarding address in Japan that they give you, and they then just post the item to you from their warehouse, rather than them ordering the item from Amazon and you paying them for that. It only works for items you can buy yourself though - obviously Amazon you can use a foreign credit card so they're fine, but sites that need a Japanese card or Yahoo Japan Auctions etc the service is no use. I use these guys for my Club Nintendo Japan account and they've been good so far.

You mean I can actually redeem stuff from Club Nintendo Japan? I have quite a few games where I can register points for. *_____* (Lots of Taiko ^^!) Never bothered to check if I have enough to get something but I think I might!

Yeah just get an address from these guys and use it in the Club Nintendo Japan registration, then register away your stuff (providing it's not too old, I think it's like 2-3 years or something before a game's too old to register... which sucks but oh well :/)

Not sure if that was a spambot or not, but the "watch movies online for free" link suggests it was. Still, not deleting the post -- just removing the link. For now. -Tom It's a spambot, I see that kind all the time on blogs and stuff, they're just rigged to a standard 'I approve of this content' style response with a dodgy link attached, either in the comment itself or in their email address.
