This I discovered a long time ago. That many televisions was in fact seperated.
Think about it. This is why SONY was so successful back in the early 1990's. They made computers but at the same time, made televisions that did not feature any stereo, or audio output. Stupid right?
No, it was smart. The consumer could go outside and actually choose what type of sound setup they wanted with there television set, or display box device. Some televisions had no tuners inside them, as well. Again stupid right?
No, another smart move. Since people usaully brought teleivsions around the same time to watch with there cable or Satelite dishes.
So the lesson learned here is that. Sony and other companies in Japan made these things in part. People had to use headphones, or jack seperators to get sound.
Thus creating an affordable market for all kinds of people.
People who wanted a television but could careless.
People who wanted a television but could careless about sound. People who wanted tv for a specific purpose.
Now when SONY and other companies released products in the US, they installed the ability to pick up radio, AV, and high quality sound. However some sets was no good and RGB died out. More importantly they jacked up the prices. At the same time.......SONY dominated the market in the most affordable television sets, with the best picture.
So what is wrong with this picture. Sony made great sets, with great pictures and all in one features for the westerners. Why is this bad?
They jacked up the prices, in comparison to the sets sold in Japan. Then there was the inflation of tarrifs. So they looked really expensive. So while we westerns got everything in one, the Japanese still beat us. in the area of pricing, accessablity, variety, and options. Asides the rest of Asia.
Something to think about. Why am I mentioning this?
I am using my game systems to play music, and decided to get a stereo, just for that purpose. Why?
The television set burns too much energy.
Just something to think about.
........................................................................
And the Genesis ( MD ), has a port to connect to a computer screen? Why? well duh.
