I'm thinking about buying Legend of Heroes (PSP) and Legend of Heroes II (PSP) at Gamestop, but I wanted to know if it's worth roughly $7 a piece? I've heard a lot about the games, but I'm not sure if I'd like it. I play a lot of games like Final Fantasy, Golden Sun, and all those JRPGs. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.

Those... aren't a part of the Sora no Kiseki series. Those two are part of the Gagharv trilogy, another series within the entire Legend of Heroes series.
Anyway, no. They suck. The music is good, but the plot and characterization is ruined by a horrible localization, and the gameplay is just mind-numbingly boring.

Oh, ok, thanks. Maybe I'll wait until XSEED comes out with the rest of the games. Sorry for the confusion...I'm not very well acquainted with the Legend of Heroes games, as you can probably tell. Oh well, I guess I'll just wait until Ys: The Oath in Felghana comes out. Only 5 more days, anyway.

I don't see how anyone could get confused by such great titling as Dragon Slayer VI: Legend of Heroes VI: Sora no Kiseki the 3rd

I believe I read on here once that Floofy's team is working, or considering working, on the Gagharv Trilogy for the PC, so you may get to play a better localization someday.
I personally don't expect too much, as most independent projects never come to fruition (fanslators have lives too, and hobbies tend to get shelved in lieu of other things), and I know nothing about said team's ethic of dedication to fans. But who knows, maybe you'll get lucky and get to play 'em on PC someday.
(I think the thread in question was in the falcom section if you want to check)

I actually know somebody who played White Witch/Prophecy of the Moonlight Witch/what have you. He not only thought that the characters, plot, and gameplay sucked, but he said he doesn't remember the music being that good either. Then I linked him to some of the songs from the game, and he says he doesn't remember them at all.

Well, if he played the English version I can see why he'd dislike the plot/characters/gameplay, but the music is pretty sweet. Unless the PSP version ruins the OST as was the case with the PSP version of Tear of Vermilion, but from what little I played that didn't seem to be the case.

Huh. Well, the thing is, he's an Ys fanboy, so he should appreciate the music. I later found out how awesome some of the battle themes were, but when I had him listen to them, he didn't remember any of the four or so I linked. He does remember L(?)ude Castle though. Not sure what was up with that. :U

Well, for ToV, why not see for yourself? Or hear, rather.
PSP version:
Fight starts @ 0:25. Now, when you hear this, you probably think "meh this is alright", at best. But...
PC version:
Then you hear this and you're like "MOAR!!"

Hmm...that's odd.... Hey Tom, you think the Sora no Kiseki trilogy will be worth waiting for? I'm really wanting to get into the series.

Honestly... I kinda like the PSP version a little better, for that particular track. For comparison's sake, I would've probably gone with one of the overworld or town themes, which are ALL better in the PC version than in the PSP version. Let's see if I can find some good comparison tracks on YouTube... EDIT: Argh, nobody has any of the awesome PC versions on YouTube! WTF!! I thought AT LEAST "Stepping Lightly" would be easy to find, and I DID find the PSP version, but no awesome PC version! What gives?! -Tom I went with this song because there's a staggering difference between the two versions, and everyone I've shown them both to preferred the PC version by far (except you of course), so it seemed like a fine comparison to me. I can hardly find any of the PSP versions on Youtube. Are you getting them from gameplay vids like I did, or did you find the actual songs uploaded somewhere?

It looks like the soundtrack FalcomClassics uploaded (starting here) consists entirely of PSP versions. No clue why. Er, from what I listened to, those are all PC versions. The song "For My Faith!" is uploaded there too, and that one isn't even in the PSP version. I only listened to the battle themes though, but those are all PC versions. Edit: Days of Peace (which happens to be #6 on the PC OST) does sound like the PSP version, though. Well, I can't really make heads or tails of this, but they're not ALL PSP versions, at least.

Sounds like a job for uneternalism(s).
[uneternalism beacon shines in sky/cue dramatic music]
