Hmm, favourite movie? That's a tough one. All the movies I've seen from Akira Kurosawa have been fab, like Rashomon, Seven Samurai and Ikiru (although, Seven Samurai and Ikiru are definitely put above Rashomon, in my eyes). But, I've also watched Blade Runner at least 15 times, along with Batman Mask of the Phantasm and Ferris Bueller's Day Off, possibly even more that that! I watched Batman Mask of the Phantasm 8 times the month I got it, so yeah, I like the movie. Just a bit I also really like Golgo 13: The Professional, it's one of my favourites.

Why not just legitimatize this thread, and talk about our favourite films.

You can still watch tv, you just have to wear an aluminum hat so the estra testereal allens can't read your brains.
reminds me of collared greens.
Anyway, in my aluminum hat, I watch House; The Event; Boardwalk Empire; and Modern Family.
Movies: Seven Samurai ranks highest, followed by Count of Monte Cristo. My collective favorites are Yojimbo; Ran (Kurosawa outdoing Shakespeare at his own story); Sword of Doom (the greatly superior remake of Daibosatsu Toge which was woefully unfinished); Fight Club; and Monte Python and the Holy Grail (still makes me laugh)

I need to see Ran and Throne of Blood. I've got Hidden Fortress on the way from the library.

Oh, this turned into a real thread. Well, my favorite TV series are Scrubs and How I Met Your Mother.
Movies are a bit tougher. I don't really have ONE movie I consider better than all others, but my favorites are probably Forrest Gump, The Last Samurai, and Sin City.

I just saw Sin City recently, it was pretty solid! Like, I wanna read the comics a lot. The Last Samurai is totally under-appreciated. People seem to hate on it because it has Tom Cruise. But that film is one of my champions, I should put that on the list. Scrubs is great too, gotta get season 5!

[Lights up the torhes]
Yeah, I haven't seen Pee Wee [snicker] since I was a kid, but I didn't even like it then. If I didn't like something even as a child, I'm sure as hell not going to like it now.
And you guys are right about Scrubs; I stopped watching the show after seeing the whole series like three times. And Last Samurai is a great flick. Tom Cruise [as an actor] doesn't bother me, and the movie had Hiroyuki Sanada, who is one of my favorite actors.
OH YEAH: I left out a new show that just started last week: The Walking Dead. How could anybody NOT watch this?!

Actually not much went over my head as a kid. I was pretty precocious, considering I was reading Stephen King at 11 and none of that went over my head. Pee Wee just annoyed the hell out of me, and my patience level has decreased dramatically.
Also; I loathe Tim Burton. Hated him as a kid, hate him now.

Don't forget Ken Watanabe [in terms of Last Samurai]. Guy's had leukemia since the 80s and has Hep C. Bad-ass. Not to mention his being a great actor.
As for the Walking Dead, ever read the comic, Raison? It's pretty great, I'm up to the 9th volume, should get caught up quick whence I get this job. A-toi-tee-toi-tee-toi.
EDIT: Me and Raison are quite in line in tastes. I'm not a Burton fan either. Never really could get into his shit (and I mean shit as in his movies suck, like shit isn't good because it smells and can cause disease so it means it's a bad movie when I call it a shit one, right? get it? yeah? okay, now we laugh, muwahahaha)

Glad to see somebody finally agrees with me 'bout Burton. I'm usually in the minority on that topic.
Didn't know all that about Ken Watanabe. It's too bad. He's also quite talented; I just feel Sanada doesn't get enough love in the west. I've actually seen him in -many- more roles than Watanabe, and while he usually plays either a villain or a mean goodguy (he drowned Sayeed!), he really showed his range in Twilight Samurai, where he played a more sentimental role (like you'd expect from Ken Watanabe).
As for comics, I've actually only ever read Berserk. I plan to read Blade of the Immortal next, if I ever actually catch up. (I tend to give priority to all my text-only books)
