Silent Mobius TV series is not good, watch some REM instead. It's a LOT darker.
...come to think of it Berserk's final ep was only the beginning of Gatz's journey. Would be great to see the rest of the story someday.

Hast thou readeth the manga, yon Cercia? It's really great, but I've been unable to get past volume *checks* 26. The past few volumes have just been pretty lackluster. There's a lot there that wasn't in the anime, too, so it's worth checking out if you haven't already. . . . up till the trolls arrive, anyway. Stupid trolls.

You know, you could try Blood+ is one of my favorites series and despite the cliche sypnosis (A Girl who fights vampires with the sword), the series can manage some unexpected plotwist and psychological developments.

Try Nurarihyion No Mago. Pretty damn good series with strong ties to japanese mythology. More plot than action, and action scenes are quickly resolved.

Seriously, Serial Experiments Lain and Steins;Gate are 2 of my favourite amine of all time.
And, if you like Lain, you can go for other Abe animes, such as Texhnolyse, Haibane Renmei or NieA_7. I liked alot Yojouhan Shinwa Taikei too, but this one is different from the others.

Thanks, Ghal, that sounds great. (sorry for the effeminate sounding nickname ) . . . Leon? Rura, why would I ever want to watch a great looking cyberpunk? It's not like some of my favorite anime are cyberpunk or anything. [EDIT: dammit. Managed to track down a copy of the first that doesn't skip on VLC Player, but the second isn't subbed yet, and the third doesn't exist. I should take you over my knee for getting me soexcited!] Also, Sweetling, randomly related comment: according to your sig you've been watching a lot of anime without giving reviews. How the hell am I supposed to know what I'm going to like if you don't tell me! . . . Kolibri, while Steins;Gate is one of the best anime I've seen in the past 3 years, I actually didn't care much for Lain. The heavy surrealist aspects made it great to watch after 30+ hours awake, with a jittery coffee-fueled mind, but objectively I found it disjointed, plotless, schizophrenic, and overall hollow. ie. "artsy". It seemed like it was trying to appear deeper than it actually was through contrived abstraction. --that's just my opinion, of course, which is unique to me. I know a lot of people love it, and I'm certainly not trying to bash your tastes. I do think Texhnolyse looks good, and Haibane Renmei certainly catches my attention. Must check out those two at the very least. And if I can make a recommendation for you, based on those tastes: if you haven't seen Ergo Proxy, I think you might like it.

And you won't just give me a ¯\_(¯ _¯ )_/¯ in response? Anyway, short of stalking your MAL, I'd be happy if you just gave a shout out to the ones you really like. Our tastes seem commensurate enough that I'd probably like most of the higher rated ones. A subtly introduced mystery! Now you've piqued my interest. What could make you like something you don't like as much more than you like it?

Just ignore me So I checked out your rankings. No euphemism. I'm glad to see Suzumiya Haruhi no Shoushitsu got a 10. I actually stumbled upon The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya on Amazon this morning (when investigating Mardock Scramble), and planned to look into it anyway. If it's not a bother, I wouldn't mind a thorough opinion of ef - A Tale of Memories, Shinigami no Ballad, or Druaga no Tou: The Aegis of Uruk (I won't inquire about Utena. . . just remembered Sclagwerk's recommendation. I just wasn't keeping a list at the time ). Anything you have to say about any of them would be appreciated. Or just ignore me, as per usual. And I'm a bit surprised by your high mark of Arslan, but then, I think the only reason I'd give it a 7 is the annoying English dub and the lack of a resolution. I plan to read the books. . . but they aren't resolved either. *waves to Daibosatsu Toge and Guin Saga* *with middle finger* AND WHO THE HELL ONLY GIVES THE KENSHIN OVA A 9?!!!!

A thorough opinion? I've seen The Aegis of Uruk, and The Sword of Uruk. Both are pretty damn awesome in my book. Very comical and charming, witty, and engaging. I would say that they're somewhat balanced, if balance entails starting off completely light-hearted, with a gradual decrease in comedy and an increase in the overall struggle. There are some religious arguments within that some people may be put off by. Either way, I've watched the entire show twice. Once in Japanese, once in English. I really like it and enjoyed watching it again. It is quite memorable. // Also, I suppose you could say that it's generic, but there are plenty of plot twists to keep it interesting.

Thanks guys! Good to see Karura isn't the only one who can romance dead threads! After a little searching, those all look like good recommendations. Steins;Gate Mirai Nikki and Persona 4 were already at the top of my list, and I've seen (and loved) Appleseed. If anything, that demonstrates you guys hit the mark! That list should keep me going for a while. (thankfully, with less pressure than my demanding mountain of a game list) As for action, I don't mind it in itself (I really wish there were more anime featuring kenjutsu), but if it's NOTHING but action, with no semblence of plot, I simply can't keep focus--I haven't even been able to catch up on Berserk, which I love, because Miura's had them fighting trolls for about 4 volumes straight Oh, and FMA Brotherhood. . .you have to admit it followed the same pattern toward the end Between the first 15 or so episodes being a comic retelling of the first series, and the last third just being "FIGHT IT OUT!" I'll definitely be watching the first series again before I watch the second. (even though the middle WAS a great show with great characters missing from the other) Thanks again, Kirika and Reymon! Kirika? XD I´m not Chirico Cuvie. XDDDD Hope you´ll like them.^^

The Kenshin ova was baddass, It should have a 20/10 Also, if you havent wached Kara No Kyoukai, i´ll drop this here: So, i just finished Kara no Kyoukai. It was pretty good i have to say. The animation was so smooth, the background were very colorfull and full of life. For an horror anime, the atmosphere was pretty well handled, as many scenes actually managed to give me a few chills not to mention gore scenes which were...........they were so good animated that sometimes i could freak myself out if certain character was being torn apart on the screen. The story and characters were pretty interesting and deep. Since this series was made out ot Type moon´s scraped ideas for Tsukihime and Fate/Stay Night, i dint thought that the result of using them would turn this good. Ryougi Shiki is pretty interesting character. Background, personality and development of the character. The 5th movie, pretty surprising, like the turn of events with Enjou Tomoe, besides, his conversation with Mikiya gets bonus points because it looks like if Shirou Emiya and Shiki Tohno were having a conversation. Also, there´s the fact that i don't usally like achronological order, but they handled it pretty well here. I will give this a 9/10. I would give it a perfect score, but we have the 6th movie in the middle wich wasnt as good as the rest. Also, what the heck with your name?

And I'll drop this here! Also finished Kara no Kyoukai. Great (movie) series, if a bit overrated in my opinion. The first movie didn't impress me overmuch, but I found myself caring more and more about the characters with each successive entry. The epilogue felt a bit forced, being nothing more than a half hour conversation soliloquy. And I would have liked it more if all the movies were tied together better. --The tie-in brought up in the fifth movie felt extremely arbitrary, and the last movie felt just as unforeshadowed and randomly contrived. (part of the same tie in, yet left unmentioned. Writer ex Machina?) Overall, I quite enjoyed it though, and, flaws aside, would highly recommend them. It's an ancient Cthulu sigil for apathy, representative of existential exile. DAMN YOU for uncovering the long forgotten ritual for summoning me back to the material plane! . . addressing me. *fades back into the shadows* It's an ancient Cthulu sigil for apathy, representative of existential exile. *fades in* Beatrice: Umineko no Naku Koro ni disagrees with you.I'm extremely glad you recommended this one, as I'm quite enjoying it. Although, while there aren't plot holes, there are a number of. . . logic holes? . . . . . . but it's one of the darkest and most macabre shows I've seen, and I'm thoroughly enjoying it. I've been telling Battler from the start that it's retarded to play somebody else's game by somebody else's rules, especially when those rules are subject to abrupt variable change. . . but he just ignores me or talks over me. Rude bastard. It does seem quite silly that he's arguing against the existence of a witch, while indulging her far enough to humor a game dependent upon her witchiness--ie. he's a priori admitting defeat by participating. But in the episode I just saw, when he finally wised up and said, "I won't acknowledge you as my opponent. I never want to see your face again," I cheered. I've been telling the guy, the only way to beat a witch is to ignore them, or burn them! Mwa ha!But anyway, I've read reviews saying the anime is horrible compared to the VN, and all those logic holes are handled better, so, considering I love it even so, I DEFINITELY need to read the VN at some point. Thanks bunches for the recommendation! *POOF*

If you liked the anime, then you can move on with the Visual novel..............or the manga at least.
No wait.......the visual novel has pretty ugly art. and the manga gets consntantly delayed.
Or stay with the never resumed anime........
Choose wisely.
