I did a one shot (short fiction) today.
Here it is:
Ys (One Shot) - Bad Awakening
I woked up.
I didn´t know where I was, because the darkness was absolute.
I alarmed.
Something down me moved. It doesn´t walked . However it movements were from down to up.
I touched it.
It wasn´t viscous as I though as I waited, but soft when I touched it.
Suddenly, I heard a noise. Not a common and normal noise, but one strong, that remembered me to a lion´s roar. Next, I heard the wind´s whistle.
This occurred sometimes, but didn´t stop.
When I get used to it, I tried to woke up. Just when I did the intention to incorporate, I fell again: the surface I was in, it wasn´t plane.
I tried to walked forwards, with my arms extended to give me balance, and putting a feet before the other.
I was scared.
Curiously, as I advanced, the noises created intensity.
One time, I was in a pinch to fall, but I leaned to something. It wasn´t soft, but it wasn´t solid, either.
I tried to lean the feet, but there was nothing. I groped and I find out that down there was a floor. I stepped it. It was equally soft and delicate, but it doesn´t move.
I continued walking, while I touched a wall that sinking if I extended the hand.
I grabbed it, because I was in a pinch to fall. Before, there was absolute nothing, or, at least, something that I was able to grab, and I was afraid. I back away my steps, and I returned to the more or less solid surface.
I realized something that I didn´t noticed before: the wall in wich I supported, up. I scaled it as I can, while I touched the other wall.
I let thoughtful.
The noises didn´t cease, no matter where I was, and I wanted to sleep.
If I sleeped, maybe there was a dawn no matter where I was, and I could see better.
I layed at the soft surface, and, in a moment, I felt asleep.
In the morning, a severe but sweet voice tried to woke me up, while I felt something gave me little pushings.
"Hey, you sleepyhead, wake up." The voice said. "It´s past eleven o´clock."
I opened the eyes, somnolent. I saw I was in a room, although there was something that didn´t fit with the furniture, or, at least, what I knew about it.
"Where do you look at? I´m here." Started to talk the voice again.
I looked where it comes, and I frozed: in front of me there was white and oranges circles that was moving.
"What´s wrong with you?" The voice seemed confused.
I yelled, as louder as I can.
When we down stairs, Adol laugh out loud.
"It wasn´t funny" I growled, crossing my arms, sit down at Dogi´s shoulder.
This one had the hand in the neck, and had the expression of didn´t know what he did.
"I only tried to woke up her". He mused.
"Don´t get your face to mine like that again." I scolded him. "I was near a heart attack. Adol, don´t laugh!
"That will teach you to not to sleep above Dogi´s tummy again." Adol winked.
I didn´t know what to say, but I cross my arms with an ungry face: I didn´t remember that last night, I felt asleep above a big tummy.
"What do you think if we go away now?" Adol asked.
"Ok." Dogi assented. He smiled mischievously. "But I hope this miss don´t sleep at my head."
"DOGI!" I exclaimed while Adol´s laugh.
And so, we set off for a new adventure, although I had enough with mine that night.
Hope you liked it.
