Hey there. I've been getting into the Ys series and Falcom in general and I'm taken aback at how fucking good their games are and why it took me so long to find out. Other than my mild tidbit there, I guess you could call me a retro gamer of sorts, as I usually play games or franchises as old as myself, or perhaps older. I've been a long time Castlevania fan and it amazes me to see that Ys has better songs than most of the titles from that franchise. The fan in me sheds a tear, as my eyes cry of joyus wonderment from Falcom. I don't know what else to say, so tl;dr - Hello.

Dat moosic. <333
I finished Oath in Felghana on the PSP a week or so ago, and without playing the original version I must assume that it's one of the best remakes ever made. The soundtrack alone is fantastic.

Hello and thumbs up to a Castlevania fan, especially if we're talking pre-Metroidvania CVs

Hooray for a combo of Ys and Castlevania! I love Castlevania too, but I'm really bad at the older ones. I try them, but I never get very far. Any recommendations on which one is best for practicing on...? Metroidvania is plenty fun. I've always enjoyed PoR, and SotN. I need to try playing some of the Souma games. I might be alone in this, but I feel Castlevania does the backtracking a lot better. More solid controls in those titles maybe?

Super Castlevania IV is the easiest Castlevania the Adventure Rebirth has good difficulty options that allow you to slowly ramp up the challenge as you get better (and tons of hidden paths so it's fun for several playthroughs) Castlevania Chronicles on remix mode is moderately difficult. But the original X68k version is on par with the original game (slightly easier though) Dracula X Chronicles for PSP is easier than the TCD version IMO. But TCD Rondo of Blood (also available for Wii Virtual Console!.. or as an unlock for the PSP version) with Maria is pretty easy due to how lenient the controls are. She doesn't take many hits though CV 1 & 3 are just classic hard
